Wow, great episode. Wonderful way to end the season. The perp was really gross looking, too. Also, what was that look at the very end by Rush? What did she see...? Have to wait till next season, I suppose.

Great episode! The storyline was really well put together. However....I must say....my heart nearly broke for our Lilly-girl when Kite called it off. When she took too long talking outside her apartment, you could clearly see how much she wanted Kite to stay. I still don't think she saw anything in the final scene in bed though (maybe I'm just blind). I just saw her looking sad and terribly lonely.Maybe this is me being hopeful, but I don't think it's over quite yet.

That diabetic old man was disgusting. I did like the scene with the male detectives visiting him at his apartment and confronting him on his behavior. This is just so realistic as how people in real life rationalize thier actions. I thought the case was pretty interesting and I had no idea that is was the boyfriends father until the last few minutes. I admit I do like the episodes that don't give it away up front.
I also can't believe that someone like Kite who really liked Lily would dump her over a troubled man of a Cold Case Lily was investigating. It didn't match his personality, I thought nor his understanding of the vocation Lily has except that when they first met he would be going home at 7pm and Lily would be working till all hours. I forgot about that and just remembered that one point. But still it just looked like a rush job to say he wasn't going to be on the show next season.

well the actuall case i thought was really good. but, i didnt pay much attention to that. The whole episode revolved around lilly. there was her looking like the victim, then they boyfriend knocking on her door. Kite sort of dumps her ( cant really tell if he did or didnt) In the last scene, lilly looks sooo alone. i got more into the lilly/kite thing in the killy pt II thread... My heart broke in a thousand pieces, i swear, my heart started to race. i think i get too emotional some times... we'll be talking about this episode until september, i can guaruntee that...

Even though I'm bummed over the Lilly/Kite developments, I thought that the episode was very good. Very complex and involved. I have a few questions though: What happened at the end between Elisa and Valens?? First I thought he was just visiting her, but then it seemed like he dumped her?? I hope this wasn't the case. I'm starting to get worried about the writers setting up a Lilly/Scotty thing. Hopefully, I just missed something (crosses fingers). What is the story with Lilly? She made a strange comment to the boyfriend (can't think of his name) when he came to her house (a little freaky I might add). She said something about how what she wanted at 15 was impossible. Then, she looked really depressed. It wasn't what she said, but rather how she said it. And then in the last scene (good call BTW Naj) she was lying there lonely and she seemed to be reflective. I know this was mentioned during the discussion of "Volunteers," but I started to think that maybe Lilly did have an abortion or something terrible happened to her when she was a teenager. I don't know - it just struck me as odd. Questions for next season I suppose.

I liked this episode but I thought they pushed the Kite thing too much, too fast. He has known her line of work and how caring she is and all for a long time now. They played him like he didn't understand all that. It felt to me like just a quick "problem" so that they can have a cliffhanger. I loved the rest of the show though. Did anyone correctly guess any of the songs used tonight? I remember the Fleetwood Mac song and another song - was it "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper? Can't remember any of the other songs right now though. I was just out of high school the year before this episode was set and it brought back memories of the music and clothes. I love how the show does this!

maybe her comment to Mark was going back to the childhood thing again. she apparently had some problem during her child hood years. they touched on it in fly away, in maternal instincts, and im sure a few of the episodes i havent seen yet. they are just going to keep leading us to it, arent they? there going to have to reveal something during season two. its inevitable, in my opinion...

Apart from the whole Killy letdown, there were little revelations from Lilly. She didn't give an anwer about having a soulmate and also about wanting something at 15 that was impossible. I think Lilly has suffered some kind of abuse and Killy wasn't the first man to break her heart.

Dear Lord, this season's finales on CBS are just full of heartbreaks.
The diabetic man just blew my mind off; it's disgusting the way he rationalized his actions, and if the viewer is supposed to feel sympathetic for his son, I don't. He was in the driver's seat and he could've at least try to drive away for what it matters.
Now the even more emotional side of the night...
I can't believe that Kite broke it off! Argh! When he was telling Lilly that it's just the way she is that she has to save someone's life in middle of the night, I thought her eyes looked glassy/watery (My sister and I were joking that it's natural to picture Lilly jump out of bed and rush to a crime scene when it's so fake for a certain character in CSI: Miami to do so. Hmm.). I hope that he comes back, though, as much as we love our workaholic Lilly. Darn, CBS is evil!
Anyone has any idea what happened between Elisa and Scotty? It kind of looked like they broke up too... darnit, somebody has to tell CBS to stop being so evil.

Some of it came off as the ole plot device to get rid of Kite. But you are right it did tell us that Lily still has a hurtful mysterious childhood and that Kite is not the one for her. He was so abrupt with her. But isn't that kinda like what does happen in real life? In real life we don't get those soap opera speeches and sit and talk thing thru thoroghly. It was realistic in comparision to how the writers portray the cases. It's an "in your face" kind of reality. ~Naj

Hi Mrs B....
I believe I got them all. I haven't posted them over in Soundtrack because some posters haven't seen the show yet. So I promised them I wouldn't post right away. I don't believe there was any Cyndi Lauper and the other song was by Stevie Nicks.

Anna Meyers? Anyone guess why they brought her onto the show on a finale? Someone Scotty knew and thinks is a pain in the butt? Any speculation?

I noticed something that was really subtle but when you think about her talking about her future was not how she planned it, it kinda makes me wonder....okay here goes.. In the final scene with Lilly in bed, she very subtly seems to rub her belly....I think she's thinking not about Kite, but someone in her past...maybe she was in love.....lost a child? Is this too out there?

Hi Fish,
I'm not sure what happend with Scotty and Elisa (sp?). Didn't he visit her at her sisters? I kinda looked away at that point. I need to rewind that. I thought it was left alone....but maybe he was saying goodbye because she wasn't well?

Is this too out there? Well her mother left her and her sister? alone a lot with no food. I wonder if there was physical beatings or something? And where was her father? And where is her sister? Her mother is still alive as Lily does do errands for her but we don't know where she is staying. I too wondered that tonight with that Mark guy asking her if she ever had a soulmate or loved someone. Yes, they left her personal life with unanswered questions.... ~Naj

That episode was SO good, even if the Kite developments were a major "WTF?" That seemed to come out of nowhere, but the rest of the case was very interesting, albeit skeevy.
My heart hurts thinking that is the last Cold Case we get until the fall. Gah. I think I might be over the top addicted to this show, but you are too, so dont look at me that way. ;D
