Full transcription of call to Kite (for anyone still interested): "Kite ... Lilly Rush. Well, you're workin' late, I bet. Look I wanna say something, and I know the ship has sailed with us so that's not why I'm calling. [PAUSE]. I'm just gonna say it. [PAUSE - TAKES A DRINK]. Look, I know it's on me how we ended things. I got flipped out. I just ... just wanna not end up like my mom, y'know? But I don't wanna end up ... end up like this, either. [PAUSE] So, I'm done. I'm done with havin' to walk home alone ... she can't do it, but I can. I can change ...." (Enter slurred speech where appropriate. )

(Enter slurred speech where appropriate. ) Slurred speech...I've rewacthed this scene several times and I didn't get the sense that Lilly was drunk in this scene...just very emotional

The first time I watched this episode, it was a little confusing with all of the distant people they interviewed. I mean distant like the people who were interviewed were in a strange position for whom the detectives were trying to get 'dirt' on. That still sounds confusing, but I just mean like when they interviewed that man who was the '#1 fan' of that famous singer, and like he wasn't related to her in any way, but his grandfather was her 'handler', and then the deal with the grandson and the tapes. I guess what I am trying to say is that you really have to listen to every word that is said, so you can understand what all is related to the case and in what way. But of course I still loved the drunken phone call. I love the look on Lilly's face when she hangs up after Kite calls. And did anyone notice she wasn't like hungover-acting at work the next day? hmm...lol, well maybe there is a good reason and I just missed it...lol That's my viewpoint of this episode! ;D

I think they handled the case really well... And it was quite ingenuous the way that it all wrapped up, I thought. The #1 fan guy's face in the ending montage was priceless; some sort of self satisfaction that he'd picked the right woman to idolise lmao. And, as everyone knows, I love the drunk dial..... I think she was a little drunk... Well, not drunk, but tipsy enough to drop her barriers and reach out. I think she drank a little too fast in too short a time, but got very sober very quickly! (ps if anyone wants to read what I thought Lil might be feeling after the drunk dial.. www.fanfiction.net/~jambled chapter 3 in Under the Grey. Hee. Let's hear it for self promotion!) I think she wasn't hungover at work the next day because, growing up in the household she did, I'm sure her mother was great at the self medicated hangover cure. Lots of water, some panadol/nurofen/tylenol and some eggs. No, really, eggs have some kind of nutrient or something in them that helps hangovers. Trust me, I hold them in very high esteem! Meanwhile, the slurred speech (which I should have dealt with in the paragraph before last but... meh) was, IMO, partly out of emotion and partly out of injestion of (insert alcohol name... Just what was she drinking? I'm thinking whisky... Anyone else want to suppose with me? Dark rum? straight Tia Maria?). I'm glad KM didn't really overplay it too much. But how good were the looks from the people walking into the parking lot lol. Loved it... little do they know she's a homicide det who's packing. hee!

For some reason I always thought it was whisky. But man, that's a lot of whisky in that glass! And she kept sipping it I thought that too! In don't think you'd ever expect a homicide det to be drunk dialing outside a bar

I loved this ep. The case was really good. I liked it. And Lilly calling Kite! So exciting. Her expression was priceless. I sure hope sometime in S4 they follow up on the phone call in some way.

Yeah, I would love to hear how Kite took the whole thing. He must have been very shocked!

Or not.. Maybe this won't be addressed is b/c Kite knows that Lilly doesn't like to be comforted or that he's moved on to another love and town

I loved this ep. The case was really good. I liked it. And Lilly calling Kite! So exciting. Her expression was priceless. I got to see it again the other night on TNT! Love it love it. The first appearance of Lilly's mom, Meredith Baxter, what an amazing job of casting! I couldn't imagine a better actress to pull off that part! Lilly calling Kite, that is one of the best scenes, I loved the camera cuts!

I do also like how her character acted at times childish when in front of Lilly.

This for me got only a good. From the old old old cases(1919-1939) : Torn, BLF, best friends, World's end and The letter this is the one I like the less

Thought this was an interesting episode though and I loved Vera in this one, especially when they went to see the website geek.
Lilly calling Kite, that was interesting.
