Interesting, thanks for the link. I've got my own little group on there for shippers This is my take on it, NO one can change my mind. They totally had a thing for eachother before Christina showed up. They have there moments, Red and The Blue and Stalker. Anyway, deep down I think Scotty definitely has a thing for her and always will. The writers need to get their heads out of their a$$ and put them together NOW!! I'll be dissapointed if they end the show without them together!

Sorry to say it, LillyScotty, but the way show is going now I don't see writers puting Lilly and Scotty in a relationship. Honestly, I don't care who Lilly is/will be with as long as I'll see her smile and be little clumsy Like in the relationship with Kite, Joseph or Eddie. Although writing storymaker with L+S ship gives me pleasure and I started enjoying funfiction with that ship. I guess a spin-off of CC with main focus on L+S struggles and squad being more family-like, oh and Miller+Vera ship , and less focus on cases but still cases closely related to plot would be something I would watch like a fanatic BTW, what is the link to your group, LillyScotty?

After the season 6 finale dealt nicely with the Stillman/Rush relationship, I thought the season 7 finale did a great job with Lil/Scotty. Bringing back Christina was IMO the best way to finally give closure to their relationship. I don't think I will ever ship them romantically, but I love to see them partnering together and their argument in Shattered is one of my favorite scene.
It shows perfectly how far they come together: In Almost Paradise, Scotty lies to Lil about seeing Christina (just like in Season 2 Time to Crime). Lil reacts just the same way she did before when learning the truth in Wishing: she walks away and when Scotty runs after her, "you lied to my face" and BAM! she can't help saying something that she knows is false and purposely hurting "just another piece to you Scotty".
So basically the characters have the same flaws but compare to season 2, they know each other so well that they now succeed to deal with this situation. Like Christina said, Scotty is the one who knows her sister best.
The fight is also a raw way to expose their feelings: In Wishing, Lil was the one to feel jealous/left behind (Scotty wouldn't trust her about Christina and seek comfort in her) and there Scotty is the one to feel this way (Lil might be considering leaving for the FBI).
The resolutions of both Scotty's and Lilly's family drama collide in the end: he's the one who saves Lil, he prevents her from committing the irreparable like him.
I'm glad and so grateful to the writers that CC handled this great relationship this way!

Total newbie here, but I had to post because I agree so damn much. I'm glad and so grateful to the writers that CC handled this great relationship this way! Same here. I'd be lying if I said I didn't ship these two romantically, but first and foremost, it's their friendship and loyalty to one another that I adore. From the start, they hit it off as partners, with Lil' letting him know on the first day that he wouldn't be "the superstar [his] first week" and him actually acknowledging that. I thought it was a great way to start their partnership. No drama, just two adults talking with respect. Then, when we got the personal confidences and what not, you could tell they both appreciate their mutual efforts to open up to one another so that they could be true partners. Fast-forward to the series season finale, and I couldn't have been more thrilled with how they wrapped things up. I guess you can easily forget watching reruns and what not, but that whole Christina thing was 5 years ago and I find it so rewarding to see these characters still dealing with the same issues, but differently so. I couldn't agree more with zoé re: Lilly and Scotty having grown to know each other so well now that they successfully resolve and issue that literally left them going their separate ways 5 years before. It was wonderful to see Lilly actually turn around and ask Scotty why he didn't just tell her. There was such an earnestness to her question (great delivery by Kathryn too) and you could tell that this time, she was willing to let her partner know that he had hurt her (flash back to her not wanting to directly address the issue in S2). For his part, Scotty knew Lilly would react badly so he lied, but when confronted this time around, he didn't deny the problem (flashback to the "Nothin'." to Jeffries back in S2), but actually let him know that he had his own issues to deal with. Love their family drama colliding too, as zoé put it. I found it rather poignant to see Scotty being the one having to tell Lilly not to shoot Cliff. Danny Pino's delivery of "Let's go home" had a lot to do with that. All that emotion on his face...amazing. Great mix of guilt and regret for his own deed. And what can I say about that last parting shots... that little family, friends, partners, all going home to Philly. Nicely done, CC.

I absolutely agree with both of you. You are right.
The conflict between the two partners began with the same line "You lied to my face" but it ended in different ways. They spoke directly and also Scotty was mature enough this time to not leave and letting a thin cover of ice between them.
As it concerns Lil, you can say that for a first time she did realise that her colleagues don't always understand her feelings. She isn't the only one that wrongly take no concern from them (remember the cold behaviours in her dream). Scotty had thought and maybe believed that she would let them down for a bigger carreer. That's exactly what could push her to speak this time and tell him "Why didn't you just tell me?" putting the problem on the table. Probably that's also why she thanked Scotty so many times for his help.
But yes, their relationship made a full and realistic cycle, away from loves or romantisms. Good handling CC!!
Even if you could say at the end, when Scotty was driving the car along with the lyric "Sometimes I think about you, baby" -something too close to "Ever want a piece of that?" in the Road-, that maybe there is something more between these two but too deeply to aknowledge. There was never sexual tension between them but maybe there is a bond in a level more than just friends. (Anyway maybe it's just my former L/S-shipper self speaking...! ;D )

Short and sweet is how I will keep it.
Not the best ending, was hoping for something more romantic. Didn't really like the way they planned it out. Scotty caring for Lilly was big plus though, I'm just hoping for one more Season, and that way I hope they persue that relationship more.
I disagree with you Leni810, I think their was definitely sexual tension between them during Season 1 & 2, and a little bit during Season 4 & 6.

Welcome thatsall! Hello Leni810! I'm glad I'm not the only one From the start, they hit it off as partners, with Lil' letting him know on the first day that he wouldn't be "the superstar [his] first week" and him actually acknowledging that. I thought it was a great way to start their partnership. No drama, just two adults talking with respect. Then, when we got the personal confidences and what not, you could tell they both appreciate their mutual efforts to open up to one another so that they could be true partners. Your quote made me all nostalgic Scotty & Lil are 2 private persons with very different characters and it was interesting to see them trying to know each other better in the first year. They have both this acute sense of perception of the other one, the reservation to share personal stuff but the wanting to know more without intruding too much: Scotty about Lilly's childhood or relationship with Kite, Lil about Elisa. That's one thing I enjoy a lot about CC is that the personal stories are not overly exposed: all the main characters are very private and we get partial interesting tidbits of it through the interviews or thanks to another detective's concern (Stillman regularly asking news about Elisa, Vera about Kat's ex-boyfriend, Jeffries about Kat's shooting, Lilly about Stillman's cold case in Glued...). But I'm shifting away from the L/S subject... Back again to the beginning of their partnership, it was fun to witness the rocky parts too: Scotty basically ignores Lil on their first meeting because he had "pictured a guy". How rude is that? Then Lil is all bossy "our angle? I talk, you listen" "Remember about our angle?". There was also their fight in The Hitchhiker after Scotty is tiffed that they question the confession he got from the store guy. I disagree with you Leni810, I think their was definitely sexual tension between them during Season 1 & 2, and a little bit during Season 4 & 6. Like Leni810, I didn't get any sexual tension vibe but I agree the show allows both, contrary to say, Bones or the X-Files where the UST are/were so heavy handed that they don't really "allow" non shippers.
