Yep you assumed right, this is a shipper thread for Scotty and Lilly.  (If that doesn't float your boat, I recommend you turn back now lol) Anyway, I wanted to officially declare myself a shipper (as if you didn't guess by my screen name) I have been watching CC for a while now and I must confess I am shocked that there don't seem to be as many shippers as I would have thought for this show. I've seen so many cop dramas/comedic dramas/medical dramas/drama-dramas and they all tend to have designated shipper threads for specific couples. I only saw one thread related to L&S and that was over a year ago. I figured we shippers needed somewhere to go so this one can be for Scotty/Lilly fans. So let me just this off by saying how cute Scotty's reaction to Lilly being shot was in the finale. I can't tell you how much I love it when shows allow us to see the angst on the face of one of the partners when the other is in trouble. Not that I like that Lilly was shot but given that she is a lead character I'm gonna assume she'll live which in shipperland can only mean good things for progression of the relationship. (told ya I've watched lots of these haha) For me, I see the Scotty/Lilly relationship as being a classic case of Scotty being in love with Lilly but is either a) not fully aware of it yet (perhaps the shooting will wake him ) or b) he knows he has feelings for her but is afraid of her reaction if he ever told her due to their history and the fact that Lilly knows Scotty and his 'way with women'. I suppose it could actually be a bit of both. I'm not just saying this because I think all partners are in love with each other but I truly and honestly see chemistry between these two and the finale just tipped the scale for me to come and post about it. So basically, if anybody wants to talk about anything L/S shipperish, I propose we use this thread to post away. (I have a feeling I'll be here the most  ) |

Hello lsr and welcome!  I guess there have been fans of Lilly and Scotty so I don't know why they don't post about it. (longislanditalian is one) Those who were around for season one were avid Lilly and Kite fans and so there were many of those right here on this board.  I did see two eps this season quite shippery. The one in Tennessee and the finale. Actually the finale gave me a different view of the Scotty/Lilly dynamic. (although tptb have made it clear it isn't going to happen) I thought it was interesting. |

I did see Kite and Lilly in first season but to be honest I wasn't getting the warm & fuzzies for them. lol. And yes, I, too, have heard the statements made by TPTB about the "never gonna happen" storyline... several times (on practically every show I've watched! ) and let me tell you it means diddley in the grand scheme. I'm not sayin it's a guarantee but their policy is "deny everything" (x-file reference ) until it becomes of use (ie. RATINGS and therefore MOOLA!!! ;D ) I've picked up on lots of tiny things this season that can't have been by accident but in the meantime, I'll just have to watch and wait. I just really think it would be nice to see Lilly let someone in and to me it seems like Scotty has many things he'd like to say (did anyone else notice his little hesitation before he gets up to leave after she tells him her mom died? or was that just me LOL ) but I think he just doesn't know how to go about it or is scared of how she will react when/if he did given his reputation. P.S. Naj - did you put the 'shipper gal' heading up under my name? Thanks, it's cute but I was just wondering where it came from. |

Well... I'm no shipper and I never will be, but lemme tell you, I'd take him over all the guys Lilly's picked this far . Not saying much, I know--and I'll never have the warm & fuzzies for them (not personal though, I never have them for ANY TV couple), but better than nothing... Also, lsr is right. "Never gonna happen" means SQUAT. Look at CSI. TPTB assured us a Sara/Grissom pairing was never gonna happen until Grey's came into their midst. So much for principles, huh? So I guess shippers can still hope. |

Well it seems I'm in the minority but I'm definitely hoping they've changed their minds. As I mentioned, I love seeing it when one of the partners knows the other is in peril. It's always full of angsty-goodness. I also thought that the camera stayed on Scotty's face (after Lilly was first shot) a teeny weeny bit too long for us not to take notice so that also makes me raise my eyebrow. Perhaps TPTB realize that the most popular episodes are the ones that have to do with a mixture of the case & personal lives of the characters instead of just individual storylines that are finished in an hour. All I know is I can't wait til next season now!  I actually have a prediction for what COULD be in the cards next year... (everyone ready? lol ;D ) Remember you are in the shipper thread here.  Firstly I think L&S will have another sort of shipperish scene once he sees her safely out of surgery - probably just a hand hold or something but I'll take it. However, then just when Scotty thinks he feels a little closer to Lilly, she'll do some sort of chilly pull-back and he'll be all confused again. I then predict we'll have to see him get it on with the ADA chickadee (I HATE HER GUTS but it seems that they are trying to set up some hate/lust thing between her and Scotty - stupid storyline if you ask me but whatever) Anyway, it will be this weird half-relationship/fling thing that Lilly will find out about and (here's where it gets good.. well for me anyhow hehe) Lilly will be very jealous but in a Lilly-way. She doesn't seem like the type to get openly hot and bothered with it, in fact I don't think SHE
will even know why she is bitter but she'll definitely feel it. (perhaps it will only be a camera shot of her seeing them together - it doesn't have to be big) Then she'll start to be a little snarky with Scotty for no reason and Scotty will eventually call her on it. They will have a little talk and it will get a little gritty and then someone (haven't decided whom yet lol ) will let something slip that they didn't mean to have let slip. Tension. Everywhere. From there, ....well we'll just have to wait and see lmao whatcha think? |

Hey, lsr. "Hey" should now be a new shipper word. I think if there were closer takes of Lilly/Scotty exchanges we'd see more shipper moments. I noticed that in some of the stills fans post over in Fan Art. When we see zoomed in shots of them there are these looks coming more from Scotty. Well like I said in the Stalker Ep thread. For all we know season 5 will begin set 4 months from now and not a mention of anything that happened. Nadda. They are so good at dropping things and just cutting it and moving on. Actually I'll be surprised if they don't do that. I'm expecting they will have moved on and they will be featuring their next detective in the storylines "Kat". Now I like Kat but I don't agree with this aspect of what they seem to do. I hope I'm wrong, though. |

Naj- Right now I'm jst glad they are friends, love might kill the show. Right now they get along better as Friends, It might be worse as lovers since Lilly doesn't do well in love.

Right now what Lilly needs is a friend, and I think Scotty may be the one to provide that for her.
I'm not a big L/S shipper, but truth be told I've never been a shipper of the popular "shippings."

Aw thanks Naj, I knew I was holding my shipper flag in vain but nevertheless I'm still gonna hold it I wish the shippers I have seen who have written those fics would come out of the wood works sometime ..ah well. I see that people here support a friendship between L&S which is cool (for now ;D ) I do think Lilly and Scotty make good friends but I truly think that it is friends on the way to something more. Lilly is the one that needs to forgive, forget and let him in. Once she does there'll be a whole new level for them to explore. Naj - I know what you mean about CC skipping skipping skipping.. I HATE IT! I like things to be delved into once they open a particular story arc. And yes! I also think there are many looks that Scotty gives Lilly that she is either unaware of or doesn't want to acknowledge. P.S. I'd love to be a member of the Official Hey Shipper Club! |

Aw but see that's why it'd be different with Scotty. Neither of them have truly been "in love" (imo) before so they can find each other together. (I know some of you will argue about that.. ie. Elisa and Kite but in my mind it's different with Lilly) Btw, ::raises hand:: HUGE HOPELESS ROMANTIC HERE! Go ahead, you can roll your eyes now. As for it 'killing the show', I think if they were to hold off until the final season of CC that'd be best but then again I wouldn't say 'no' to something happening sooner.  |

I just really think Lilly needs to give him a chance to let him really be there for her. I know you said you're not sure if you'd like to see that develop on screen but I so would. I'm not saying that I want an all out mushy scene to go down but I think a scene where they really talk would be intense and they could finally face what's between them. I just had a thought about a possible (shippy! ) storyline - maybe the ADA lady will be a test of Scotty's maturity instead. Let's face it, normally Scotty would most likely jump into bed with her but perhaps almost losing Lilly will be the factor that will have affected and jarred him enough to mature him of this. |
