Amazing from start to finish. You could see the determination Jefferies had in getting justice for Wanda and Althea, the same urgency Lily had in finding Christina. Plus,it did something I never though possible...I actually had pity for Doherty. I'm sure he knew the second they started asking about his son's possible involvement that his police career was over, yet still refused to give his child up. Plus, given what happened in the prior episode... if there's a season 8 and either of them make a reapprence, that would make for intresting dynamics. In the grand scheme of things, Wanda's death will be a manslaughter case...I can't see either of them going to prison for more than a decade. If only they had come foward earlier...but then we wouldn't have had this amazing episode either.

All I can say is OMG!!!!! First part: I loved the case. Since they had only done one other prom case which was the season 3 Opener called Family, Although the entire case didn’t revolve around prom but I still liked it. The storyline was real. They pulled from what would really happen during High school and how teens would react. I mean Ive had some of those high school fights so it was nice that everyone in some way could relate to one of the characters. In the personal aspect, it was nice to see Lily in something other than her work clothes, and bringing her sister back is such a good ideal. Scotty OMG what in gods name was he thinking! Just erg! And the second part is going to be AMAZING! Second Part: Ok so im wondering how she would not have a headache after the blow to the head like that haha. I think just in the first bit with Lily and the motel owner shows that she does still love her sister and she is just having a hard time forgiving and forgetting. Does anyone remember the last time Christina was in town and Lily found out about Scotty and her, Hint the episode Wishing from season 2: Lily: You lied to my face!! Seems like Chris is bringing up some unwanted memories. And Scotty thinking that Lily would take the job with the feds was OMG. And Lily almost crying it was wow. It was interesting Wills case although I did miss Miller in the first part of the finale. I loved the scene in the car with Lily and Scotty and how she tells him about the time at the beach it was great to hear a bit more about her past. And Will’s plan to steal the gun that was just so funny! And them freaking out at him lol. Ok so Lily with a Taser very interesting. And the looks between her and Scotty when they found her sister was amazing. When Lily is hugging her sister and they seemed normal brought tears to my eyes and when Lily saw the baby girl I was just in awe. And when she was smacking him around I started to freak out just a bit and prayed that the writers wouldn’t make that dumb mistake and have her kill him. But she had that look to kill and if Scotty had not talked her out of it im sure she would have shot him dead. Bur Lily with a baby in some way just seemed right and with the final scene of her the baby her sister and Scotty driving home I think brought the show to an amazing end if CBS doesn’t renew it but if they do it opens a whole new storyline for them to play with. And I do hope that CBS does the right thing and gives them another season.

Only sad part of this two part finale... I can truly never look at Scotty the same way again. Yes the guy was a $#@! whom I won't shed a single tear for. But Scotty still set in motion a cold blooded murder. Many of the Cold Case doers thought the murders they did were perfectly excusable too...and in some cases, like Blackout, The Plan, you are 100% with the doers, yet they are arrested regardless. The prom queen one wasn't planned and while Wanda's death was NO accident, I would label it manslaughter, not murder. Sadly, she was beyond saving and what they did afterwards..two scared messed up teenage kids. Scotty not only planned the jailhouse murder but hired someone to do it. As much as Lily made me rip my hair out with her Moe storyline, even she didn't cross this line. If there's a season 8, I can only imagine how this storyline will play out.

I lost a lot of respect for Scotty as well, so I echo those sentiments. Abusing your badge like that......if there's a season 8, I fully expect him to have to pay for that. While this is fiction, things like that happen in real life and it's one reason why some people have such a distrust/dislike of cops. They think all cops are crooked or otherwise dishonorable.....this isn't going to make people think Scotty is above board. It doesn't really matter that the guy raped his mother -- what the perp did was reprehensible, but we have a justice system to deal with people like him. This isn't Dodge City or Tombstone, where vigilante justice is the name of the game. I hope he gets his badge yanked, frankly.
I'll comment on the rest of both episodes later.

Reposting my thoughts about the first part (Almost Paradise) I never thought this episode was going to be so epic... I like it way more than Shattered. First, the doer... I knew that man was suspicious but I never guessed he was the killer. Also, since I graduated 5 yrs ago I could understand all the teenagers in the episode. How you feel when you remember how great was high school and I LOVED the drama between Felicia and Lee. I know how it feels when a friend of yours change and you cannot do nothing about it. It hurts a lot. Felicia was beautiful and intelligent but not perfect and I like when characters are dimensional. Loved all the characters and the 80's style. Loved when Cole said "80's rules but 90's are gonna rock". I can't believe 90's are gone Well. I also liked how it shows how your life can change after High School. Look at Cole and the other kid. Conzy? It was a simple case but I found an emotion on this episode that I only found in 4 other episodes: "Forensics", "WASP", "Metamorphosis" and "Read Between the lines". Great episode really. The only thing is that I thought that Lee had to see Felicia and not Susie/Susan. I mean, The last time Susie saw Felicia alive she was thinking about how to hurt her... Hello? While Lee was the one that REALLY knew Felicia and was her only real friend... Maybe I feel this way because I have been in this situation. Maybe Lee didn't see her because time changed him. Yes, I mean. Maybe in the present day he never thought of her and Susie said "Felicia brings back a lot of memories" OMG! I was traumatized by this episode because I miss High School. Awesome! I'll try to analyze which one will be my season 7 favorite: WASP, Forensics or Almost Paradise... These last 2 give me feeling that I only had with my all time favorite (Shuffle Ball Change) ADDING MORE: Really, this was an awesome case! Really... I mean, almost in tears. I identify with Felicia when you're scared of what happens after High School and that your friends change I know how it feels. PART 2: "Shattered" Mixed feelings. I wasn't as great as I thought It would be. first, they know the show is in danger of being cancelled and they didn't give us proper closure on anything (Same thing that happened with Without a trace). Lilly: We don't know if she accepted the FBI job. We don't know how she was doing with her father, brother and adoptive mother. Was that Christina's baby? How? We needed answers! If they needed more time they would have done a 2 hr finale about Christina and Jeffries case and skipped Almost Paradise (even if I truly considered that episode maybe my all time favorite beating Shuffle Ball Change). We needed closure for Lilly. Example like this: Lilly decides not to take the FBI job, has a dinner with her family or she accepted the job and there was a party where everyone decided to say goodbye. IDK but I mean: closure! Scotty: No wife, no girlfriend. Murderer. What a wain to ruin a character. His issue is more complicated because I understand that sometimes you have to take justice by his own hands. I don't accuse him but I don't excuse him. At least he got some closure: good with family with "Pastelito de coco" (Coconut pastries) and he killed that man. But also, no love life. Loved the drama between him and Lilly Stillman: We never knew again about his daughther, about Yates... His closure? Maybe that Doherty won't be around anymore? Jeffries: This is the only one that got closure. His case was solved. And he saw the victim He was going to retire so maybe if there's another season he will not be around much... IDK Vera: he got some closure... not all but some. Kat: No total closure (her relationshop with Bell). I liked the Christina's thing but I wanted to know more about the Wanda case. I thought It was a missing person case but how they knew she was dumped and that she was killed with a gun when I thought they never found the body?

eduardoI'm pretty sure that the baby was Christina's. If you recall correctly, Christina kept talking about a "her", and how she wanted to be a family. At first I thought she was talking about their mom, but then they showed the baby. Also, Lilly showed a lot of affection for the baby; something I doubt she would have done if the baby wasn't Christina's. I have to say that I did notice something between this finale, and the season 6 finale. In the season 6 finale we learned that Lilly had/has daddy issues. In this episode we learned that although Lilly was angry with her sister, she still loves her. I mean she loves her enough to pistol whip her abusive boyfriend, and nearly shoot him. What I didn't like though was Scotty's "No, don't, he's not worth it." I find this very ironic, because...well let's see here...oh yeah! Scotty had the guy who raped his mother killed. But then Lilly is about to kill the man who's been abusing her sister, and Scotty tells her not to? The final scene in the car with Scotty driving, and Lilly in the backseat holding the baby while Christina was resting on her shoulder. I found that to be by far the most touching, and tender scene of the entire series. That scene, plus the scene between Lilly and Christina when they found her; it makes me believe that Lilly definitely has a soft spot. And the episode had one of the funniest lines. "What, no dip?" and the scene where they're trying to get Doherty's gun made me laugh.

But then Lilly is about to kill the man who's been abusing her sister, and Scotty tells her not to? I kinda liked it for that reason. Yes Scotty was just there and he crossed the line. He was in a unique position to know it wasn't worth it. So he stopped Lil from making the same mistake and ruining herself as well. I thought it was kind of touching/sad.

What an amazing season finale! Such a strong episode. It really shows that there can be a perfect balance between regular casework and the characters' personal lives. I have been watching cc from the start and I have to say this was one of the strongest episodes. I am still trying to decide about my feelings on the Scotty hit. Was he really looking for the guy to be killed or just roughed up a bit? I have a hard time accepting that he is partially responsible for a man's murder. Although he didn't look at all surprised upon hearing the news of his death...It does change the way I feel about Scotty if he in fact planned this as a murder, sigh...
On the other hand, I think this episode had some great Lilly/Scotty moments...showing how much they truly care for each other, and the fact that this show can do that without having the characters hook up is brilliant.
There are so many directions this show can take, I can't imagine there not being a Season 8. I hope that CBS realizes how special this show is and gives long time fans like myself many more seasons!

toxicGood point, and this isn't the first time that Scotty's had to keep Lilly from shooting someone. This of course might also be another factor. While Scotty seems to have no trouble with killing someone who he thinks deserves it; he appears to be a lot more calculating about it, and gets others to do it for him. Lilly on the other hand? She just practically flies into a rage, and if Scotty wasn't there, she most likely would have shot and killed that guy. On a some what different note; it was interesting to see the disbelief on Lilly's face when she found out her sister was addicted to oxycodone. Scotty, however, is right, addiction to drugs like that usually begins with an injury. I wouldn't even be surprised if the whole thing started because Christina had to get a tooth pulled. I speak from experience when I say that dentists can go a bit overboard with prescribing certain pain killers. I also wouldn't be surprised if Christina was doped up on them by the time Lilly found her. and finally, my dad was watching the show with me, and when Lilly got hit in the head, he said, "She sure gets banged up a lot on this show, doesn't she?" To which I replied, "I'm going to scream if this is another 'it's all a dream!' episodes." Also, I found it hilarious that the guy at the hotel was convinced that it was Lilly who trashed the room. xD

I was kinda disappointed, was expecting something bigger. But it was pretty good, liked the Lilly/Scotty moments, they were just aww ;D Christina kinda tiffed me off half way through it, but I liked the ending, liked how Lilly & Christina kinda patched things up. Christina having a baby? Well..I'd rather Lilly with a baby, she'd be a great mother. But, I was shocked at that storyline, came to like the idea..She'll be too busy taking care of a baby, hopefully she won't stuff up Lilly's life again. So, I liked it, but was hoping for something bigger. Hope there's a season 8 so they can keep this storyline going.

I felt really underwhelmed by the season finale. I guess I was expecting something more. Though I have to say, I thought Christina herself was amazing. For some reason, the cases didn't seem to "get to me". I guess partly why I was underwhelmed.

I thought it was excellent. Morris and Pino had some great scenes and it was funny the way they got Dorety's gun.
But John needs to get tougher on his staff though, I mean he asks if anyone heard from Rush and after he is told by Nick that she called in then he says I don't wanna know. I mean John come on, you got in trouble with the higher ups because of what Nick did...
Kinda disappointed to not see much of John or Kat, Will or even Nick.

I tough it was excellent. Very strong scene between Lilly and Scotty...I don't like what Scotty did with the inmate, but any one in his shoes would do the same thing... I don't think he feels better though. I liked the ending, Lilly and Scotty saving Christina (and the baby). Even though Christina wasn't the best sister, she is still blood and she loved her...I hope Christina will turn her life around, for the baby's sake. The only thing I didn't like was, that I was more focus on Lilly's side story than the case itself. The case didn't really get to me. Hoping for S8!!!

As I said in the Almost Paradise thread, I was not expecting two separate cases for a season finale. I do not understand why they did this for one night. To me Bullet and Free Love was most likely Season Finale but it worked out okay for me. Giving us two pretty good cases to end the season and a Christina story.
So I wonder why they didn't just end the season with "Bullet" and "Free Love".
We have a parallel of Will seeking justice for the victim and making Doherty accountable and then we have Scotty seeking his own justice which is probably indicative of how things happen in real life. Scotty was very satisfied, indeed, around that dinner table with his parents. Part of me kinda rooted for him but then a part of me dispised him when he walked into that courtyard and tagged the guy. Did you see his "arrogant shuffle"?
Who would have thought Christina ended up such a mess. It was great to have the writers revisit the sibbling relationship as I've wondered where she has gotten to all these years, wondered if she and Lilly had the same father and mother.
The Doherty gun nabbing was interesting! There have been several shennigans this season that I thought was out of character of these detectives but I suppose this is what happens in real life. Not sure what Stillman really thinks about his detectives or whether there would be some disciplining that would occur as a result.

Maybe because of Lilly's and Christina's younger years living with a parent with an addiction.
Scotty is one mean dude, isn't he?
