to me CC will jump the shark when Lily completely snaps and does something majorly deconstructive. Like oh say, shoot Scotty Valens.

i loved it i havent see the last 8 episodes so i dont know what ellen died from but it was really touching and at the end when she said mom at the end i was bawling like a baby, i have to say that it was one of the best finals that they have had that and the woods.

I thought John Finn played his getting shot scene very well. I think that's why I got so upset. The whole thing with the guys was great. Vera is my hero. I loved him just standing there fingers moving to send a message. The pan out to the guys as Lilly closes the door was awesome. To elaborate a little more on the inaccuracy of Ed's shooting. Ten years ago I bought a Smith & Wesson Revolver. The barrel is pretty short so when I went out to the firing range with my target sheet - well I did terrible even after ten rounds. Just because people have a gun doesn't mean they are experts at firing. I was a bit frustratred at the firing range but it does make a difference if you have practice and know how to use the gun. So I can see why Ed may have missed hitting Stillman to kill him.

i saw a few clips of this episode - there was no sound as it was in a music video but it was effective nonetheless but I can't wait to see it for real. It was incredibly powerful and a great finale.
I think I can get a fic out of the aftermath and something that may happen to Lilly as she recovers *plot bunny works but remembers that she has to return to spanish revision soon - literature in spanish whoooo*

i have to say that it was one of the best finals that they have had that and the woods. Yeah I totally agree, I still can't decide which one I like better! I keep watching "Stalker" over and over again, and I like it better with each time I watch it! (I'm up to my 11th time watching it right now ....lol, if u don't understand...just read the signature ;D)

I just watched the episode again, to try to make sense of how this episode was put together. Sadly, watching it a second time did not make it any better in my opinion. I absolutely stand by my previous comments. This was one of the weakest efforts in a long time. I know they can do better, this is not a soap opera, but they turned it into one. Too much sentimental mush for my tastes and I know I'm the only one that didn't like this episode. In fact, I would go as far as to say I hated it more than the season opener "Rampage", but for different reasons... "Rampage" was really hard to watch because that sort of shooting happen here in Montreal just weeks before the episode aired and I had a family member in that area when it happened.
"Stalker" was too predictable, too obvious and a little too heavy handed when trying to tug on our heartstrings. I expected a lot more from Veena, but sadly, I was very disappointed.
Was I the one that voted"Hated it"? Yes that was me... I was just so disappointed and well, I voted and it's done.
Will I watch next year? Maybe I will, maybe I won't. I really haven't decided yet.
A sad old grey goose...

As the old saying goes, to each their own. There's a reason why personally I watch Cold Case but not CSI, NCIS, or even the Law and Order series much.

I understand your point of view, I did not like this episode so much, for some of the reasons that you explained and for many same reasons as Lillykat, I lost lilly with the seasons passing, but I always look at this series for me the best, but really what episode too much for me. I awaited more depth, a different epilogue with the storyline Lil/Ellen, or at least not so fast, a treated case in a major way. And that improbabilities in the intervention of Scotty. I do not know I took down episode when lilly closed the door of her house, after her conversation with her mother (the only true moment for me and that drew me the tears ). Perhaps that it is necessary that I still look at this episode, undoubtedly, I awaited another thing of this last episode. Thus a great disappointment and frustration, but hope for the next season.

After re-watching it again, Ed couldn't had enough time to shoot Lilly before Scotty broke the glass and shot him. Also the velocity didn't match up, Scotty shot her but it was by accident but we'll have to see next season..

Seeing as we didn't hear an additional shot I think we have to assume that Ed shot Lilly as Scotty shot him. He was still standing then. He got hit in the shoulder. You'd naturally tense up as the first shot rang out, pulling the trigger is far from impossible.

I agree with RichE. It seems that Ed pulled the trigger just as Scotty pulled his.

So it was predictable as hell... The suspecr pool was so small. But it was good. Great even... A lot of omg!!! But they tried to cram too much into 1 ep. Lils mother dying, a whole case, the hostage situation. It was a bit too much for 40-whatever minutes. Vera was freaking awesome in this... His total imperviousness when the gunman walked in was an absolute crackup. He just stood there at the filing cabinet. I think vera really came back into his own on the last 3 or 4 eps of this series. Lil in this ep was very believable as well. Of course shed try to be the hero... Her mother died and that was out of her control so she had to do what she did best and talk... Save the day. Great storyline... When lil was telling him to shoot her... Wow. And her and scotty together was nice. I actually liked that kat wasn't a hostage as well. I still like the one-girl-against-the-world thing. Last song didn't feel right to me though... A bit too upbeat and love-song-ish. Rest of the music was fantastic if a little too overused in primetime (grey's, er, etc) but still worked.

Ps: actually the end song is growing on me more and with the romeo connection I guess it works. Much better than ending with the fray! And frenchfan: I love dr wyatt as well!! His accent is gorgeous and his intuitive deductiveness rocks.

I'm with ya jambled. Vera "Mr. Inappropriate' was so cool under pressure and made me laugh at the same time.

Yeah vera was priceless, as his character tends to be... I wonder what kind of retribution lil will have... Taking him into the observation room. I'm guessing that's another non-procedural move; brings to mind the woods. When the girl goes against the rules things get interesting!

I agree. I agree with RichE. It seems that Ed pulled the trigger just as Scotty pulled his. Wasn't this move to buy time (knowing there was another way in) and allow Stillman to get treatment? Ed was getting out of control at this point I think Lilly was just trying to divert him so he might not shoot others.

I loved the music in this episode, especially the snow patrol and the dashboard songs! The stalker was really creepy, he was pretty sick. I can't believe he was her caretaker, I really didn't see that one coming.

Only thing that annoyed me a bit were the medical inconsistencies with Sillman and Lilly being shot. How Stillman still mamanged to stand up and not pass out is crazy. Also he didn't appear to be in any pain.
With Lilly's it was more realistic but like someone I think previously mentioned they weren't applying presure on where she was shot. That was a bit of an obvious stuff up in a way. Also I don't think she was actually going into surgery straight away they would have to stabalise her and all that first, and that as why she was still awake
Apart from this it was a great episode.
