Good evening everyone, Hey, this is the Byrdman coming at you tonight. I hope that everyone is rocking and rolling through tonight, and that you are all ready for a great week coming up! I just wanted to comment on your thoughts here. I indeed agree with you. Friends and co-workers bonding and sharing silence is indeed true to life and appropriate on many occasions, but I had a different take on this scene, and the series of scenes before them as well. I think everyone on the team was just down in the dumps after that run-in with George. He had outsmarted them all and beat them at their own game. He got away. You can see each team member being down about something related to the case/interrogations. Stillman sits in his office and looks at his medals, a point George taunted him about earlier. Scotty sits with his head in his hands. Now, this could be a combinaion of exhaustion and frustration. I think he is thinking about Alissa, and George's taunting remarks about her (not that I can tell that, just an interpretation). Lilly hangs up one of the victim's pictures and sits protectively next to her sister, possibly in response to George's freedom. I think she just regrets that this serial kiler beat her, and was allowed to go back on to the streets (again, just an individual interpretation). I think Vera and Jeffries felt exactly the same way. George had taunted both of them in many terrible ways, and they had lost as well. Just my take, I guess. Thanks for your attention, take care, have a great night and a wonderful weekend as well, boys and girls!

Hi Everyone. I'm new to this forum. I have a question about tonight's episode "Mindhunters"...
At the end of the show, what song were they playing? I think it's Phil Collins but I'm not sure and I don't know the name of it. Can anyone help me out? It's been on my brain all night.
;D

I apologize. I didn't realize there was a special Cold Case music section and I found out the song by Phil Collins. Oh silly me. All of you are wonderful for having that all updated.

All the detectives just seemed to be beaten and drained by the earlier events. It's maybe the most disturbing closing montage for me, because after one hour of nerve-wrecking interrogations, it seems like things are worse then at the beginning of the episode.

I'm new to the board. Um, I was just wondering, what did Chris mean when Lil walked into the bar and said "classy joint" and Chris said "classy girl?" I was wondering if she was talking about her or Lil. Because it seems to me that Chris is a little trashy and that's why Lil does not like it when Scotty dates her.

Well, you're part right. Chris IS a little trashy, compared to Lil, at least, who managed to drag herself out of the slums. But that's not the only reason Lil's angry at her dating Scotty. They (Lil and Chris) have a whole history that's made Lilly very territorial and I don't think she likes her trashy little sister encroaching into her space and stealing "her people".
Oh, and :smile52: to the board. Sorry for not saying so before ;D.

Oh yeah, we had Mindhunters on polish tv yesterday! I sat in front of my tv and thought to myself "okay ewka, just pretend you don't exactly know every detail and try to find something new..." Well, I did. But unfortunately I found some mistakes with translation. In my opinion it is important that chris asked Lilly if she came to talk or argue (that is how I understand "b*tch"). The translators decided to make it "complain". Hm, I think Lilly would never come to her sis to complain at anything... that's what she would more likely do with her cats... But the worst thing is that people who are supposed to write polish dialogues have no idea of what is going on the show. The proof? Ha! George said "Kite will be disappointed" (I don't remember exactly) and they made it like KATE will be disappointed. No, there is no way the lector didn't spell it correctly because in polish there is a big difference when you talk about a woman or a man... jeeeez... :/ It was my hmmm, 10th time? I don't know, but in the most important moments I answered with George or with Lil coz I knew their lines by heart also I found some thing which I haven't noticed before like the whole Atalanta thing. Shame, but I thought it was that woman's name... :> Yep, a great episode

I finally got to see "Mindhunters" and "The Woods" over today, and I noticed something:
The owner of the gun store where George buys his rounds in "Mindhunters" has a cap from the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise. Since George had already appeared earlier in the show as a simple filing clerk and John Billingsley is known for his role on a show called "Enterprise", could the cap have been an attempt on someone's part to give a subtle hint early on as to who the killer is?

I bet it was an inside joke, toddsmitts. Nice catch, BTW! InsideR said that the writers named Joseph's cat "Laura" as an inside joke and a way to pay homage to the classic movie that the episode was based on, so I imagine this was intentional as well.

Finally got to watch this episode in my language. I really enjoyed watching it even though I've already watched it before in English and knew what was in, because some parts escaped my notice back then. But it left a bad taste in my mouth. John Billingsley did give me the creeps. That weird look when he said in Stillman's office, ''You're not gonna find anything in my house.''!! He reminded me of Paul Millander from CSI. I might have a nightmare... I liked to see how they each dealt with it when George dug up their traumatic things, especially Jeffries. Didn't care for him during the first season, but now his character is gaining in my attention. It was so heartrending to know that the word Susan wanted to tell her mom Janet for years, the word Janet told Susan in their last conversation, and the word Janet said in her last moment was the same ''I love you'. I LOVED the scene where Lilly lay down next to Chris in the ending montage. She is a big sis, and from what we've learned Lilly must have been like her mom as well, she just can't help caring about her baby sis no matter what. I wonder what were those black balls at army shop for? Is it someting to do with hunting? And why does George own everything in his house three each? That was freaky. Maybe the answer will be find in The Woods....in three weeks.

Hey rabi. I couldn't agree more about John Billingsley's "creepy" performance. The black balls in the store were deer eye. They're marbles that hunters use to replace the eyes when they kill, stuff, and mount deer. George said that he didn't hunt, so that brings up the question -- why did he have deer eye and what was he using it for? Could it be for the heads of his victims? So creepy!

Aha. Now I see why Jeffries was fiddling with it before George's eyes in the interrogation room. Thanks TVFan. He musta gouged victim's eyes out and contentedly looked at their heads placed in a row three by three. Gross.

Very creepy episode. The reference to "Orion" was an interesting reference to Greek mythology. This pretty much cements my speculation that the show is heavily influenced by Greek culture. Such being the case, then does this confirm Scotty's hubris will lead to some "underwater" tragedy like in the tale of Icarus? Hmm... At Wikipedia, it is said that in South America, the three stars that make up the "belt' of Orion represents the three Marys "in honor of Mary of Nazareth, Mary Magdalene, and Mary of Bethany, three major New Testament figures". Probably a coincidental tie-in to Christianity, another popular theme in this show. Personally, I always thought that Orion was just a torso. This way of imagining the shape of the stars kinda goes along with the way the victims were headless and had leg injuries...

I rewatched this one -- I couldn't help myself! I can safely say that this episode is my all-time fave from the series. It just does everything right. Lil's interrogation with George is still my favorite as well. Kathryn's acting is so brilliantly subtle that you can't decipher where Kathryn ends and Lilly begins. It's that good. Definitely her finest showing.
