From TV.Com
This is the second episode that features music exclusively by the same artist. The first one was episode 2-20: Kensington, with music by John Mellencamp. (Edit)
In an interview, executive producer, creator, and this episode's writer Meredith Stiehm said that the Bruce Springsteen songs were chosen first and then the story designed around them. (Edit)
This episode features music exclusively by Bruce Springsteen from the era 1980-1988.
The songs - No Surrender - Bobby Jean - Brilliant Disguise - Glory Days - I'm on Fire - Drive All Night - Stolen Car - Atlantic City - One Step Up
are taken from his albums - The River (1980) - Nebraska (1982) - Born in the U.S.A. (1984) and - Tunnel of Love (1987). (Edit)

They forgot about The House with only Johnny Cash music.

I just read the press release that TVFan posted the link for and I suddenly had a thought about this whole Lilly and the motorcycle guy thing. The article talks about the case and then says: 'The episode also tracks the life and death of a young marriage, and what happens when 'hearts of fire grow cold.'" 'Is this refering to Lilly? After all she did say in The House about him 'selling his motorcycle to buy their wedding bands' and later that 'it wasn't meant to be.' What do you all think about that? ??

Whoa, those are pretty intriguing news. Can't say I'm exceedingly happy about it... something rankles with me about Lilly being married... but hey, everything rankles with me and anyway, anything we learn about Lilly has got to be good, right? Can't wait for the eppy, hope it's as good as it sounds.

Just a note for people on the West Coast:
If this time change is due to the NFL playoffs we might start at the regular time. When "Yo Adrian" was supposed to air an hour later, we got it at the regular time.

You know what though, Sonny? This could still work applied to my other theory--the one where the young marriage is Ellen & and Lil's dad, and Lil's dad is the motorcycle guy, and she's the little girl who was supposed to go upstate. It's a long shot... but it could work. ;D I actually like my theory better than the theory of Lil having been married as a teen. It just doesn't seem like her, the impulsiveness...

I'm going to have to go with your other theory -- the young Lil and the motorcycle dude one. But that was my only guess to begin with. :smile10:

V, that's Sonny's theory!!! Can't take credit for it. ... Hmm, anyone thinking we should place some bets on this thing?

I'll stick behind my theory I think, mainly cos I can't think of another that seems as plausible. My only hope is that whoever the guy is he's a looker cos I'll be most upset if he looks like he's fallen from the ugly tree!!!

Okay so I've done some more thinking and some investigation into the Lilly drama in this ep. Through my investigating I have come to the conclusion that DF's theory could also be very plausibe. I say this because I thought, why not look up the names of the actors on the cast list. At the bottom there is a Henry Mack played by Steven J Oliver. He isn't one of the four friends so who is he? I looked him up on IMDB and found that he is 17 years older than Kathryn/Lilly. Could he therefore be playing Lilly's Dad? ?? It could be possible!!! Oh I'm all confused now so perhaps I shouldn't bet on anything!! :smile10: :smile10: :smile10: :smile10:

Sonny, I'm VERY into DF's, and now your theory! I think (maybe 'cause I want it to be like that) that motorcycle guy, or older guy or whatever we're gonna call this Henry Mack, that he is actually Lilly's dad! Oooh, I'm gonna have a fit any minute! The tention!!
And what if they've thrown us completely off track... Wouldn't be the first time.. It could be her uncle or whatever, and have nothing to do with neither her lost love or her mum..

I was somewhat skeptical going into this episode. I'm not usually a fan of the episodes surrounding a particular artist. It's not that I DON'T like them, it's just that sometimes I feel they choose songs that don't fit the situation, just because it's a song by THAT artist. You know? Haha, sorry - I'm rambling. But this episode - I loved it. The songs fit (well, I guess that was obvious since the episode was written around the songs, instead of vice versa), and the storyline was great. I loved the flashbacks! I wouldn't want it like that everytime - so 'music video-y', but for this episode it really fit. Having the flashbacks within the flashbacks really worked well for me too. I thought it added a little 'something' that I enjoyed. LOVED the personal 'tid bits' in this one as well. We got a little something from each person (well, except for Scotty). The Stillman/ex-wife storyline is so sweet. I loved Vera and the rice cakes, the Jeffries football thing, and THANK GOD FOR SOME LILLY AND HER CATS! Haha, I've been waiting all season for those awesome cats to make an appearance. Stillman had the best line exchange with Lily towards the beginning when he asked if the dog that attacked Olivia had gotten her other eye. Hehe, the look Lily gave was killer. And of course, the MG. We learn more (sort of) but I think it just confused me even more! I've got more questions. I still like that whole side story they've got brewing, and I can't wait to see how far they are going to take it, and how much information we are actually EVER going to get about this guy. I was actually impressed with how much they were able to cram into one episode. Even with the longer flashbacks, they were able to work in those tiny 'tid bits' of personal stuff that I just live for. So, to sum this up, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. It was so touching. As usual, I was crying like a baby. I was SO afraid that with all the hype sort of surrounding this episode I'd be let down (no, I'm not a pessimist! ), but I wasn't. Okay, I'm getting off of my soapbox now and shutting up Haha

THANK you soccer! Ok, that made me feel a bit more positive about this ep. I wasn't very happy about what I heard last night. Won't get my hopes up too high yet, though... But thanks!
