1. Lilly has never cried once in the series
2. Vera phone call happened in " Lotto Fever", just before Lilly came over to hand him the money for the lotto, Stillman was also in the scene as well

That dialoge was in the actual episode, " Lotto Fever" but the flashback of Lilly overhearing Jefferies and Carmen speaking wasn't in the episode" Jackals".

-I know that Pops' granddaughter Carmen showed up in the previous episode. Did that phone conversation where Vera mentioned Valentine actually happen in an episode? 2. Vera phone call happened in " Lotto Fever", just before Lilly came over to hand him the money for the lotto, Stillman was also in the scene as well This is why I had a déjà vu watching that scene...but I didn't guess the correct episode because I looked for that in Breaking News . It's the same scene: same words, same clothes, same cop passing by Vera...it was shooted in the same moment. Edit: No, maybe it wasn't shooted in the same moment: there are some little differences...

Just some additional thoughts about the episode.
So that run in Stillman had with that commander. Wonder what that's all about and will something happen there? I'm surprised Stillman told him he'd kill him. That doesn't sound like Stillman.
We saw a different side of Vera this ep. I loved when he and Kat were in the chapel. I almost thought she was going to put her arm around him.
Question: Did Philly neighborhood stores sell beer 30-40 years ago? That was kinda odd. And young Jeffries looked a bit short to me.
At first I thought Lilly was going to kill that young boy in self defense. I was trying to figure out the promo where Lilly was crying and for a moment I thought how very tragic that would be for her to have to kill the kid (as if she isn't totally messed up as it is now yet to have that on top of it all)
So now we know that Lilly is not religious. She takes after her father! That was a great scene but he didn't hug her. What's it going to take? I guess Lilly has to hug him first......

All the Gabriel thing kind of reminded me of Dominique in the Plan... different situations but both emotional

1. Lilly has never cried once in the series I think we're forgetting about The Woods...but that's the last time I can recall. Anyway, great episode all the way around. I can't believe how much they managed to pack into this one without making it feel rushed. When I saw that all three extraneous extra characters were making appearances, I was skeptical, but I thought it worked well. Cold Case is at its strongest when the cases are personal, and this one was about as personal as it gets. I loved seeing how everyone dealt with the crisis, and I felt like everyone got a chance to shine, which is rare, and extremely welcome. Vera in particular got to me a number of times; that scene in the chapel was powerful beyond words, and the images of him covered in Jeffries' blood won't fade from my memory anytime soon. It's nice to have an episode that really packs an emotional punch. Excellent job all the way around.

Yeah but the woods wasn't a true cry, like this one. That was more out of fear than, sadness. This episode Lilly cried out of sadness and grief

He asked them to be quiet *sshhh*** so I doubt he was deaf.
I just have to mention it. I loved Lilly at the beginning with less makeup! And I don't think she had much on the whole episode.

I found it really worth watching, out of the three bad episodes this season. This was probably the one I had found intresting and not boring.

We haven't had something so emotional like this one but we have not had a lot of bad episodes either

I agree, I think the other reason why Lilly was crying at the end; was the fact that it just hit her right now. Jefferies shooting, the fact that she had almost gotten shot again and among other things. This was her release but it was done really well, it proves that Kathryn Morris can really act; especially doing emotional scenes.

Holy wow! Just...woah. I rushed home from work tonight so I could watch this and it was definitely worth it. I had such high expectations for this episode that I was scared that it wouldn't deliver but I needn't have worried, it did what I thought no ep would do, it knocked Wednesday's Women off my "Best Ep of the Season" list Umm, where to start? The first 10 minutes was one of the most gripping series of scenes I can remember watching on CC. From Vera's frantic "Officer Down! Officer Down!", to the shots of our detectives getting the call. I adored that sequence to bits, watching Scotty practically run over his date in his haste to leave, Kat hustling Veronica out of bed to get her to grandma's. Great set up. The story was excellent and extremely well told. Someone's already commented on how much was fitted into this episode without it feeling rushed, and I have to wholeheartedly agree. There wasn't a single wasted minute and yet there was still time for slower scenes like Vera's hilarious apology to the poor guy in the chapel. The side bar with Stillman and Doherty was brilliant - I totally believe Stillman would beat the crap out of anyone who tried to screw over one of his detectives and the actor playing Doherty did a beautiful job of conveying both menance and then wary caution. Great scene, would have been easy to overplay but it, like the rest of the episode, was paced just right. I adored all the Kat scenes in this ep, my favourite, apart from the adorable shot of her asleep with her daughter at the end, was when she extracted the food place Valentine worked at from Pops' granddaughter and every single detective outside the room promptly moved to go and find him. That was a lovely moment, to show that it wasn't just the guys and gals we know who were invested in catching whoever shot Will. The scene with Lilly at the end was really powerful - I think it was partly dealing with her own shooting, you could tell it was on her mind from the minute she stared at the bloodstains on the cabinet door in the store to when she said to Will "Feels like you've been hit by a truck, huh?" (or words to that effect). Relief, pain, release, it was all there in that moment, very, very powerful way of ending an emotional episode. There is probably more I could squee about - I've barely mentioned Vera who was totally made of awesome with a side order of awesome sauce - but I think I've run out of ability to express it coherently. So I'll finish off by giving my own, personal rating to this episode.... SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

This probably marked the second time that Lilly's actually shot someone, the first being George and the second being Fransico although she didn't kill him.

I hope this is the last time we ever see Frankie, I can't stand the sight of her anymore. What kind of car was Scotty driving in the beginning
