I really wish I had kepp the info on this back in November. This 18-49 range was discussed on tv talk shows and I don't remember exactly but they determined that it's not the younger age groups that buy anything? and not even watching as much tv and that this age range should be a major focus. Maybe I misunderstood what they were saying and I could kick myself for not saving that source from discussion on a CBS early morning talk show. But the final thought on it was don't worry about the 18-49 group. Yea, interesting, too, about Bruce. He's more the higher end of the 18-49 age range appeal. But I also remember about 15 years ago a co-worker's son who was 14 loved Led Zepplin.

InsideR you'll have to go back to the last post on page 4 for my questions and there's something more I need to ask. Now this is being really nosey but as Soccerulz put it I am always the faithful Kathryn fan. I want to know if she is still engaged and is gonna get married soon. I ask this cos it has been noticed that Kathryn hasn't worn her engagement ring in public for ages. I know this is being nosey and if you really can't say then I understand but I thought it was worth the ask!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Now, about that hair...Quick poll (I know this is the wrong place but this is just between us): Do you think the change in the hair has 1) brought in more younger viewers 2) driven away viewers who liked the old hair 3) made no difference whatsoever? Between those options I say # 3. Even though the hair down all the time bothers me A LOT, I wouldn't stop watching the show because of that. I might attract some new viewers, but I doubt it's what keeps people tuning in the next weeks either.

I can you reveal any more about the 'Motorcycle Man'? I mean, is it Patrick? Is he/or will he be a love interest for Lilly? Will there be lots of Lilly drama? Not Patrick. It would be a bit unfair to the hardworking writers to reveal more than that - especially since they're still working on it. As for KM's private life, I think it's good manners to let her tell the public about her marriage plans if and when. I don't think it would be violating a confidence to say that she has been with the same guy for some time now and it is a serious relationship. -R

Okay, I guess I'll go again and ask another question!!! What's the deal with the lack of promotion for the show? I mean we haven't seen Kathryn out on the talk show circuit, or many magazine articles. The show seems to be doing so well but it doesn't seem to get the recognition it deserves. Is there a reason for this? and what do the CC people think about this?

I mean we haven't seen Kathryn out on the talk show circuit, or many magazine articles. The show seems to be doing so well but it doesn't seem to get the recognition it deserves. Is there a reason for this? and what do the CC people think about this? I think you're right that show gets a great deal less attention than shows watched by far fewer people (think: Medium, Monk, House, West Wing, or, until recently, Alias, all critics' darlings which are outperformed by Cold Case.) I think it's a crime that the casting staff on CC, which has to cast not one but TWO matching people for each guest role each week, hasn't even been NOMINATED for an Emmy, much less won one. In fact the only Emmy nomination the show has ever gotten is the (richly deserved) one for the set people who transformed an empty warehouse down near the docks into an airplane factory - on a TV budget. Last summer, KM worked the show very hard overseas where it seems to get more respect. I'm sure any of the cast memebers would be thrilled to have Jay or David call them. (KM did do one awkward Letterman interview.) As for it's parent companies? Bruckheimer films treats the show with great respect. CBS spends peanuts on promo. And WB - well, right now there isn't even a poster of the show on the side of the studio where they have a couple dozen other shows and films promoted. If you want to change it it's actually up to you, dear fans. Write lettes to media publications, to the network, to whoever should be doing something about spreading the word. They do pay attention and it does work. -R

That's a good idea, InsideR. I agree it's a crime, the lack of attention CC is getting from most, er, institutions. I don't know where their heads are. But anyway, the public can tell a good thing when they see one. Do you know WHY it's getting so little attention? Is it because they think the show can hold its own without help?

But anyway, the public can tell a good thing when they see one. Do you know WHY it's getting so little attention? Is it because they think the show can hold its own without help? I don't know. Certainly, the success of the show despite the lack of publicity might lead a network or studio publicist to leave well enough alone. But it's also a reflection of the inbred community of Hollywood and the show business media which tends to view as relevant only those things their friends talk about. Some of it may have to do with the Bruckheimer brand. Because Jerry made a lot of movies in which the main attraction was stilted dialog intercut with things blowing up or roaring past, all his efforts have been labeled as middlebrow entertainment. Even when CSI came on the scene - arguably one of the smartest shows on TV - the prejudice continued. Compare the comparatively small amount of attention that CSI - the number one show in the country - gets in comparison with Desperate Housewives or Lost. -R

Oh well, like you said InsideR it is a reflectionofthe inbred community of Hollywood!!! It's funny you say that about it being up to us about helping with the publicity of the show. A good 6 months ago we were all discussing how great it would be to see Kathryn on the Ellen show. I and a few others I believe e-mailed the show and said we'd like to see Kathryn on there and then she appeared!!! It was amazing. So now you've said that I'm going to toddle off and e-mail a whole load of shows, telling them how great a guest Kathryn would be!! I'm intrigued with what you say about the 'awkward' Letterman interview?? I'll watchit again but I recall it being good?? Explain ;D ;D ;D ;D

Insider, I posted awhile back a question about the relations between Scotty and Lilly. Will there relations continue to improve after last season with Christine. Will they become closer? I don't know about the long term plans. There's only time for a couple of minutes of personal stories a week. But, for now, the hatchet seems buried between L & S and all is friendly. -R
