I think they have different fathers. Sounds like Ellen Rush would not stick to one guy. I think the dad left because of Ellen's drinking.

well i always thought there was a time Ellen was healthy and she was happy with lil´s and chris´s daddy but when he left, everything fell apart and that´s when she began fooling around with different guys every night....
well but maybe you guys are right and they have different father, that would explain in some ways their distance and especially how different they look...
i mean chris with the curls, lilly with the flat hair... lilly´s got blue eyes, chris got small dark eyes....
well i don´t know.... but a interesting thought...
i still kinda wish they have the same dad.... i don´t know.... that seems easier :smile37:

I guess it could go both ways. I dunno why, but I get the feeling Ellen was never really together to begin with. I feel she must've been one of those really irresponsible teenagers who think they can marry and have kids at 16, with nothing to support them with, and then end up on welfare. I don't think she ever DID grow up. She was a teen mom all along, never in touch with her adult responsibilities... drinking was a symptom, not really a cause.
Sorry if I sound bigoted, btw. If there are any teen moms or former teen moms on this board, I readily offer my excuses and state that not all teen moms are irresponsible. There are all types. Ellen was the irresponsible kind. Lorelai Gilmore, for example, would be the opposite.

Disasterfreakwow you don´t have a good opinion on ellen at all... well me neither, not really though i still kinda hope she is okay for lilly, i mean lil would need a real mom, was elleb that young when she got her girls`?? and yeah lorelai is the opposite, we love Lore!!!!

Maybe he'll appear in one of her cases but using an alias of course , just as she's about to leave after questing him , he stops her and tells her who is really is

I just thinking he left them and then was murdered and appears in a future season as one of Lilly's cold cases, but then again, then we wouldn't know anything.....  |

I think the Man is alive but walked out on Lilly, Christina and their Mom. She was probably old enough to remember and hate him for it. I also believe he will make some sort of entrance in her life next season.

I like to think Chris and Lilly don't have the same Father. It would make their bond that much more tenuous; bound together only by a mother that neither of them have particularly fond memories of!
I also think that Lilly's Father was kicked out by her Mother and threatened to never come back... And that Lilly doesn't know this. She just thinks he left of his own accord. Over time he lost touch with them (I'm guessing they might have moved around a lot when Lil and Chris were kids) and then... Well one day, he's going to come back. I'm hopefull anyway!

Do you'se think she'd even recognise him? From what I gather, she was only a child when he left, so how would she know he's actually her father, not just someone claiming to be.

Maybe he spent time with Lilly more then Ellen ever did. But you did bring up a good point there, Besides Ellen's been married four times and had numerous boyfriends, so anything is possible |

Yeah that is a very good point! I can see it now: Some random man walks in looking for "Lilly Rush", and Lilly says, "That's me...you have something about a case or something?" And of course there will be a pause, and then the man says, "Not exactly, Lilly, I am your dad" And of course Lilly will have some dramatic "OMG" face, and it will go to commercial  Seems kinda Star War-sy, I know, but I think that would be awesome drama! ;D |

coldcasegirl- I think Lilly would have a different kind of reaction to him ,if he is indeed alive. Some good hard evidence to back up his story. She isn't going to accept him b/c of everything that happened to her. Well maybe, who knows
