I don't think he's dead, and she didn't look happy to me in Who's your Daddy, when she was staring at his picture. But I know most people had an entirely different view of that scene. Please do comment.

I voted for the last one, but I also agree with the 3rd option. I think he left, is alive and will show up. They (the show writers) have a chance to bring more drama into the show, why make him dead?

I think he left but is still alive. I think her mother played a large part in him leaving. From the little Lilly has said about her, she seems like the sort of person whom living with would have been a real nightmare. I think Lilly remembers him fondly but I think he left when she was quite young. I don't think she's currently aware of his whereabouts and I don't think he's kept in touch. There's a potential for a great story as to why he left and where he's been ever since.

I agree with Ryebeach. He probably left when Lilly was young, and i dont think she has any particular feelings toward him. She may be mad at him for leaving, but at the same time not blame him, given their home life. And as Ryebeach said, potential storyline if he is alive.

I think the creep is alive ;D and has the potential to surface on the show at some point.

He's gotta be dead.
She was really young (like 4 or 5) in those pictures she was looking at from "who's your daddy", so I would say that he died when she was very young, and she barely remembers him.
His death is probably what sparked Lilly's Mom to become an alcoholic.

Good point, irishkale! :smile39: But I think he's around and will show up sometime. That would be a great drama and the writers wouldn't miss this chance. Maybe because Lilly was very young when he disappeared, she doesn't know if he left or if he's dead. And her mom refuses to talk about it.

This is exactly what I think Ryebeach. I got the impression that he left when Lilly was young when. She gave me that impression when she snapped back at Booker in "Who's Your Daddy." I bet he left when Lilly's mother became too much of a burden. I don't think he's a bad person, just someone who wasn't able to deal with everything life handed him.
This is another great theory irishkale. If he didn't leave because of Lilly's mom, then this sounds like the next most likey scenario.

I'm leaning toward the first theory, the one that says he just left. Lilly's resentment makes better sense then, the "all girls need a father" (Booker, from Who's your Daddy), and Lilly--"not ALL girls". She's not as resentful of him as she is of her mom, probably because her mom was actively difficult while her father only passively so. I really don't think he's dead or she would idolize him. Plus, now "Josie chippy"'s come in with baggage of her own regarding a dead father, and I don't think they'd be playing the same game twice.
Unless, of course, they mean for that to become their "connection".
Ahh, who knows WHAT the writers are gonna do...

I also think that Lily's father is alive, but in season2 Booker asked if Lily had no father and Lily admitted ~What's that mean?

all I know abou him, is that Lilly once loved him in a way, that he left her and her sister, just like that and well i think that is a shame, i mean can´t parents learn to take responsibility and i am even more angry about him than about Ellen, at least she was around, and besides we don´t know wether there were more good times... i think since lilly got beaten up everything went downhill and all she maybe ever liked about her mom, changed, i am just not so sure what was really going on with that family... and i so wanna find out real soon!!! grrrrr...

According to "Frank's Best" Lilly said a line: "It's not easy loving a parent - trying to take care of the one you've got left." Of course that doesn't give away the father is dead. Just not around.

Not sure, Ju. Sometimes I'm inclined to think they do, other times Ellen Rush sounds like she had a different joe every night. So... most likely not.

All Lilly indicated last night was that he left them.
