InsideR had mentioned in an earlier post that there are two cats who play Olivia; the sitting version and the walking version. But what I'm really wondering is how or why the makeup appliance got put on the wrong eye Was it a production/animal training issue, etc. I guess if the bad eye was on the other side, we wouldn't be able to see it very well in that shot of Lilly holding Olivia. I wonder if that's relevent that Phillips didn't say "ew, what's up with your cat?" Regardless, it's now a fun piece of CC trivia

ALERT ALERT ALERT A few minor spoliers: 3 unique episodes on the way: Creatures of the Night. Based around The Rocky Horror Picture Show. If you love Rocky Horror, a must see. If you hate Rocky Horror...well... Best Friends: Oldest episode 1932. Bootlegging and Billie Holiday. Romantic. Gorgeous. Mark Pellington directed. The Woods: You Know Who Returns. Like Tony the Tiger says, It's Grrrrreat! As for Lil's love affair. It's kaput for now. No chemistry between KM and the guest star. But there's always next season. -R

Thanks for the info InsideR. I'm looking forward to "Creatures of the Night". :thumb:
I'm glad to hear about Lilly's love life or lack of, actually.

Thanks, InsideR. I'm glad, too. I know everyone wanted her to have a new love interest, but I didn't, not really--mostly for selfish reasons, LOL (TV needs to show more single working women). Although guest star IS cute. Too bad, but maybe it's better that way.

hi InsideR, hm.. just something I've noticed this last episode. KM always seems to have a cup of coffee - when she's talking to chris, when she's in the interrogation room, etc.... So, just a sort of random question. Does she really drink all that coffee? Or is just a prop, and there really isn't coffee in it

Or is just a prop, and there really isn't coffee in it Figure each shot has a few master takes plus several versions of each take from different angles. And there may be several set ups in a single scene. You do the math. If she actually drank all that coffee she'd look something like or -R

It seems that in most JB shows, it's pretty clear that they're either more personal or more procedural. What I mean is, Without A Trace is def. the most personal of all the JB shows, and CSI: Miami is def. more personal than the other CSI's.
What I'm wondering is, do producers decide from the start of the show weather they want it to be more personal, or more preocedural? Or is it something that just gets developed along the way? I've noticed that Cold Case gets pretty personal... is this something we'll be seeing more of, or will it be on and off throught the series run?

Hi InsideR,
Any chances of CBS ever rerunning the pilot Look Again. They did rerun the pilot once in December of it's first season but not since then. I'd love to get it on tape.
And how do they choose the reruns?

Good evening InsideR, This is the Byrdman writing you. Hey, I hope that you are doing well this evening. I have read this thread for months now keeping track of your responses, and thank you so much for keeping us all up to date on matters involving Cold Case! I was inspired by Naj's last post to inquire about something. I became a fan of the series in early November of 2004 ("Red Glare" was the first episode I saw), and I have been left hanging about season one and its episodes and details for the most part. I have tried to catch as many eps as I could through reruns, but have come up short for the most part. I am wondering if CBS is planning any sort of marathon for Cold Case anytime soon. I am hopeful that maybe a season one marathon is planned for sometime soon. Could you please let us know if that is the case? Thanks, and like Naj asked, do you know how they choose to air reruns? Just curious. Thanks for listening, InsideR, and I will look forward to your response. Take care, and have a great day!

I'm not sure how reruns are chosen, but I'm sure the pilot will be shown again at some point. As of 2007, TNT will be running them one a day.
As for procedural vs. personal... I think this show has always been a cross between personal vs. emotional and that was planned from its earliest days. If you mean "personal" as being the off-duty stories of the characters, that will ebb and flow. I think that there is some thought about balancing the tone of episodes, although a lot of that is just what is ready when. For example: the episode which airs tonight, "Best Friends", is, IMHO, one of the best emotional episodes we've ever aired. The next new show (which airs two weeks from now) "The Woods" is a sequel to the "Mindhunter" episode and surely one of the creepiest and scariest we've ever aired.
Both are topnotch although they have very different flavors.
Sometimes what happens when in the personal stories is dependent on how complicated the main story is that given week. For example, "Creatures of the Night" was a pretty simple story, so there was plenty of time to put in Scotty's breakup with Christina. But not everyone appreciated the sudden shift of tone from the campy "Creatures" plot to the serious end-of-love story.

hi InsideR. Just watched "The Woods" tonight. Awesome but it freaked me out, I must say. I've been wondering: is the actor who plays George as freaky and psychopathic-seeming in real life?

John Billingsley is a soft-spoken and quite normal person when he's not playing psychotic murderers. For a very different perspective on him, check him out in the role of the ship's doctor in Enterprise. -R

I also enjoyed John Billingsley as Denzel Washington's friend in "Out of Time." That's where I recognized the actor from when he first appeared as George.

Hello InsideR,
I thoroughly enjoyed The Woods finale last night. I was wondering, in the course of writing this episode, if they had given thought to just taking George in (alive) and using George down the line in a future episode to get at Lilly through some other channel. Or if they had written this to take place in the actual woods like in Mind Hunters with George hunting Lilly?

I know the concept of the sequel evolved but I don't know what it started as. My guess is that if you were really curious you could write to Veena care of the show and she might write back. They haven't yet started writing season 3 (although it's coming soon) so, now would be a good time to write. If she doesn't write back, please don't be offended. Unlike actors, writers are not used to being in the public eye and some are more fearful than others about communicating with strangers. Don't forget this is a show that has a murder a week on it -- some of the fans are not people you want to meet socially. (All company here excluded, of course!) -R

Hi InsideR - I know you've mentioned each episode is screened for producers, the network, etc. but I wonder do the actor's get to see each episode before they air or do they see it for the first time on TV broadcast nite like all us fans? Thanks

I know you've mentioned each episode is screened for producers, the network, etc. but I wonder do the actor's get to see each episode before they air or do they see it for the first time on TV broadcast nite like all us fans? My understanding is that they can ask to see an episode "in progress" if it's important or relevant to them, but that they don't get completed copies of the shows until after they've aired. Remember none of the actors is a producer. If they were, it would be different. -R

Hey Insider. I hope you're still reading here. Why wasn't Susan Lambert in this episode. With her mother sort of being the victim the last time, she should have some screen time to wrap that up. Janet's ghost is the only one we haven't seen at the end. I hope they don't leave it like that.

Janet's ghost is the only one we haven't seen at the end. I hope they don't leave it like that. I'm not sure what the reasoning was, but my guess is that time was a crucial factor. To add another character (and explain who she was to people who hadn't seen Mindhunter) would have meant taking something else away. It was a pretty jam-packed episode, so what would you have removed? -R

Did they use a private residence for the backyard exteriors of George's house?
