The person who selects the scores for the show does an AWESOME job. This is especially true when they play songs from the 1980s. I am a huge JOURNEY fan and saw the shows where they played "Only the Young" and "Don't Stop Believing". Unfortunately I missed the one where they played "Separate ways". I'd like to see them play "Who's Cryin' Now" and "Faithfully" for a 1983 based case.
I loved the episode they did two weeks ago based on Bruce Springstien's music. It would be Awesome if they did one based on the music of Bon Jovi. That would be so cool.
Another band who's music I'd like to see would be U2.

This season will not be complete without a Phil Collins/Genesis ending song! We had "Follow You, Follow Me" at the end of Glued in season one and the hauntingly perfect "Long, Long Way to Go" at the end of Mind Hunter in season two. I'm eagerly awaiting this season's fill of Phil Collins/Genesis.

Billy Joel's Uptown Girl. (Westlife's version is also OK.....)
& Dolly Parton's 9 to 5, thinking it could be an OK opening song.

I'd love to hear something from the Goo Goo Dolls, maybe "Better Days", or "Broadway" for a closing montage...

I have always been a fan of "Baker Street", and I think it would be an excellent opening song as well. (aside: I wonder if there is a Baker Street in Philadelphia? ) Baker Street? Let me tell you, Byrdman, I think you have an awesome idea! (I LOVE that song too, btw!) Try Google Maps to see where Baker Street in Philly is: maps.google.com/and enter, "Baker Street, Philadelphia, PA", of course. Then switch to "Hybrid" view mode. You're looking at the "Manayunk" section of Philadelphia. Back in the late-seventies (when the song Baker Street came out), Manayunk was just another abandoned, blue-collar part of town. You can still see the textile and paper mills that run all along the length of the Schuykill river in that sattelite view. Not only were there abandoned buildings, the shops and stores along Main Street Manayunk were beginning to empty at that time too. You still see those buildings and stores today, because those abandoned buildings are now high-end condos, stores, bars and restaurants! But anyway, back then, Manayunk had everything anyone could ask for to create an unsolved murder: abandoned factories, railroads, rivers, neighborhood pubs, huge cemeteries, destitude working-class people, a good mix of European immigrants and African-Americans to provide racial tensions.... Plus, like you said earlier, its not a disco song like the music of that time--pretty much more of the kind of rock one would expect playing on a jukebox in a blue-collar neighborhood. And an added bonus is that right around that corner of Baker Street is where Philadelphia County butts up to Montgomery County--the river is a partition. A reasonable assumption would be that the case is unsolved because of either friction or bureaucracy between the two counties. See more info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ManayunkCan we petition the studio or something??? Because man, you really got me excited about this song suggestion! I can see Baker Street's lyrics, location, and time period as completely perfect for a good Cold Case episode!

Also, very cool that you heard "Don't You (Forget About Me)." Do you like that song? can just see it on the beginning of a Cold Case episode. Byrdman, have you ever watched the animated series Futurama They had an eighties flashback episode where that song was included, among many others. It's in Volume 3, Episode 3 and titled "The Luck of the Fryrish". A really incredible episode, especially considering that its animated and only lasts for twenty minutes! Catch it if you can; I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
