Good evening everyone, Hey, this is the Byrdman coming at you tonight. I hope that everyone is doing well, and that the week is winding down smoothly as well! Yeah, I just saw this thread, and reading Tracylynn's and TVFan's comments made me think of another Chicago song (also, that I heard just today) that I think would be good for Cold Case: "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" I think this song was Chicago's first number one hit. The lead singer is different (it's not Peter Cetera). Daddy said he killed himself a couple of years later, and that is why Cetera became Chicago's lead singer. Just some FYI, my Daddy as also asking me who that song was by once, and I said: "Chicago." And he said, "No, Chicago Transit Authority. That was their former name." Indeed, I was doing some reading, and that is what Chicago used to call themselves when they started. I also read the officail railroad threatened to sue the group if they kept using their specific name. Although their first album was named "Chicago Transit Authority", the group shortened their name to "Chicago." Again, just some FYI. As far as other songs, I would vote for The Beatles (solo, and certainly as a group), The Moody Blues (I heard a couple of their songs today, and I saw them in concert. "Emily's Song" is so beautiful. Has anyone heard it? , and Eric Clapton as well ("After Midnight" ROCKS! . Well, can you tell I'm a British invasion fan? Thanks for listening, and take care tonight, everyone!

Hello byrdman, Yes, I am indeed winding up the day and to be off the net soon. I didn't know all of this about the group "Chicago". That is very interesting. I vaguely remember that Peter Cetera wasn't the original lead singer but he went on to sing one of my favorites from him - "Restless Heart". I could imagine some Moody Blues. I do like Justin Hayward's "Forever Autumn". It's such a tear jerker too. It would fit nicely somewhere if they had a sad storyline. *smacks self* What do I mean, all the stories are sad. Nighty nite! :smile43:

Dear Naj, Hey, girl! Thanks for the return (and for allowing me to rack up another message - I've got a promotion coming up soon! , and for the thoughts on my post. Have you ever heard "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" I think it is one of Chicago's best. That first lead singer was really good. Plus, I have no idea why he committed suicide, either. I just think Cetera has become so ingrained with Chicago that people forget about that first lead singer. Oh well, I'm going on... ;D Are you a "Chicago" girl, Naj? Just curious. Yes, I'm so glad to hear your comments on The Moody Blues as well. They have so many favorites that would work in Cold Case: "Nights In White Satin", "In Your Wildest Dreams", "The Voice" and too many others to mention. I will tell you, I think that other than The Beatles (I know some might say that the Stones fill this role, but I do not agree), the Moodies were the best group to come out of the British invasion. They rock, and that symphony they constantly have in the background of their music is so beautiful and adds a special touch to that awesome rock and roll! Plus, I'm sorry to hear that Justin's song makes you cry, Naj. Cheer up, girl, it's all good! Plus, not every Cold Case ep is sad. Maybe this is just me being a guy, but every time I see Lilly I can smile (even though she may not be a happy girl on all occasions, I see her beauty . Plus, it is one of our favorite shows. How can we be sad about that? Sorry if I'm bringing up too much, just trying to cheer you up and to provide my perspective. Thanks for listening, girl! Take care, and have a great night too, Naj! See ya, girl!

Yes, I used to be a Chicago fan many years ago - "25or6to4" being one of them along with group Supertramp. But much of that music I kinda grew out of into other musical interests. The Moody Blues. Here's their snippet page: Moody Blues audio tracks best ofNo worries. byrdman, I'm not sad about Cold Case eps. But the nature of each case is sad, indeed, of the state of people in real life ~Naj

I haven't gotten my "The Way it Is" yet, Naj, but I'm still holding out hopes!
My parents have always been big fans of the Moody Blues byrdman. Because of this, I grew up listening to them, and I do really enjoy their music too.
As far as (another) suggestion, I would love to see Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way." This is yet another band I grew up listening to (thanks to my parents) and love.

Dear Naj and TVFan, Hey, girls! Thanks so much for geting back on this, it's good to hear from you both (as always! . To Naj: Glad to hear you were a Chicago fan, girl. Yes, "25 or 6 to 4" is a great one as well. I also like "Wishing You Were Here" and "Saturday In the Park." (I think the guy who committed suicide sings that as well, I could be wrong though) Also, Supertramp is cool too. "Take The Long Way Home" and "Logical Song" are two of my favorites by them. So, you grew out of that music, huh? Thanks for sharing. Also, thanks for the snippets page on that Moody Blues cd, but I already have it! I appreciate your thoughts, my Daddy has all of the Moodies' cds (or albums, if you are thinking in terms of records on cds) too. Also, glad to hear that there are no worries as well. Also, yes, the cases may be sad and they may indeed have happened. However, I try to keep in mind that all of these characters (and indeed, the story itself) are all fictional. It should not lessen the emotional impact of the show for you. Just maybe a reality check for later or something. Thanks for your return, Naj, and have a great day and weekend, girl! To TVFan: Hey, girl! So good to hear from you as well. I'm also glad to hear that you (and your parents) are a Moody Blues fan. You are kind of like me, my parents love the Moodies, and Fleetwood Mac as well. So, they brought me up on music like that, and I still love it to this day. I think the 60s, 70s and 80s produced some of the best music mankind has ever known with rock and roll. Plus, I like certain music today as well, but "it can never compare to the 60s," in my Daddy's words. Thanks again for your kind thoughts and the return, TVFan. Take care, and have a great weekend, girl! Also, as a final note, I heard another few songs today that might be a good match for Cold Case. "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys, "Bend Me, Shape Me" by American Breed, "Disappear" by INXS, and I will also send a shout out to "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve as well. I know that Ryebeach has already picked that song, I'm not trying to steal your idea, bud. Just backing you up. Say, did you know that The Rolling Stones (well, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards) wrote that song? I saw that on the cd that this song is on, just thought it was interesting. Take care, and have a great night, everyone!

I just thought of another song...
"You Only Get What You Give" by New Radicals
It has a fun beat, and I could see it being used as an opening song.

Thanks Byrdman for the back-up on "Bittersweet Symphony." It still seem like the perfect closing song. Also, as you suggested, I think "Good Vibrations" would be a perfect song for the opening of an episode which starts out on a bright and sunny day.

I've yet to find anyone who has even heard of this song before, let alone like it. Definately a perfect opening song!! ;D

Cool!! I own that CD too. ;D But boy, it was hard to find, I searched all over town for a store that had it in stock. I think I ended up special ordering it. Did you have any trouble finding it?

I always liked the New Radical's song too. Kinda sounds like a Hall and Oates if I stretch it....

I don't remember where I got it from, but I've had it awhile. I don't know why they never caught on. As much as I like "You Only Get What You Give," it was "Someday We'll Know" that caused me to buy the CD. Too bad they broke up, they were a good group.
I can see (hear?) the Hall and Oates thing, Naj. I never thought about that before. Thanks for pointing it out.

Dear Ryebeach, Good day, bud! Hey, thanks for the shout out on my back up on "Bittersweet Symphony." An excellent song, it would be a perfect one on Cold Case. I'm not sure who would own it, though. The Rolling Stones wrote it, does anyone know if the show has used their music before? I'm not sure if that would reallly be possible. Some people put them right up there with The Beatles (not me, The Beatles are in a league of their own, in my opinion ). Thank you as well for your praise of my pick of "Good Vibrations". I was just listening to that the other day, and I was thinking, "Man, I could really see this being used in Cold Case!" Who knows, they might use it someday. I'm not sure if they have ever used the Beach Boys, either. Thanks again for your backup of me, Ryebeach. Take care, and have a great day, bud!

Good evening everyone, Hey, this is the Byrdman coming at you tonight! I hope that everyone is doing well, and that you are all ready for a rocking weekend, I know I am! Anyway, I heard some songs today that would be a ood match for "Cold Case" possibly. First of all, three songs from Gerry Rafferty from the 70s: "Baker Street", "Right Down the Line" and "Home and Dry." I hope someone else has heard these songs! (ha! ) Plus, I also heard two songs from the 80s that might be good matches as well: "Come On Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners, and "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" by Wang Chung. I just felt inspired to share these thoughts, these songs got me so fired up today on my way to and from work! Woo-hoo! Anyway, thanks for your attention, take care and have a great night and weekend, boys and girls!

Those are some great songs Byrdman. I especially like "Come on Eileen" and "Everybody Have Fun Tonight." I hope they can be incorporated into an episode in season 3.

Dear Ryebeach, Hey, bud! Thanks so much for your kind thoughts on my song choices. So, you liked my 80s picks, huh? I hope they can put those into an episode next season as well. Have you ever heard those Gerry Rafferty songs? I know he was not too much of a smash in the disco era, but he sure had some good songs, especially the three I mentioned. Just curious. Thanks again for your kind thoughts, Ryebeach. They are much appreciated, and I hope you have a great day and a rocking weekend! See ya, bud!

Actually, I was not familiar with that artist so I did a check on amazon and listend to the 30 second snippet of those songs and I did recognize them. I really love 80's music so I remember those 3 songs well. I just wasn't familiar with the artist or the titles. Thanks for mentioning his name and the song titles Byrdman! I hope you are enjoying the weekend too.

Dear Ryebeach, Hey, bud! Thanks so much for looking into those songs, I was glad to provide the titles and the artist. So, was listening to those snippets a flashback for you? I hope so. I'm glad that you remembered them, and that you are fond of them as well. Are you going to look for Gerry's greatest hits now? Do you think they would be good songs for Cold Case? I can see situations where they would be handy. I like to imagine situations like that myself: where would this song come in handy on Cold Case? Would it fit? Just something I like to do. I am enjoying my weekend, and I hope that you are as well, Ryebeach. Take care, and I'll talk with you soon, bud!
