The third season got underway last night on TNT! I enjoyed it a lot. Always great to see Brenda back in action. TVFan has very kindly allowed me to contribute reviews of the third season over at Pass The Remote (for anyone interested in recaps, etc.) Hope others were able to tune in!

Great episode last night (S3 / "Saving Face")! I tend to like when the episode has so many crazy things going on at once - you never get bored, and nothing is predictable! This one was funny, too ... I think that's what I love most about this show: there is always some humor in every ep. I've posted a recap over at Pass The Remote for anyone interested.

Thank you for the recap LillyKat I have just seen the first episode, I realize that brenda missed me, that this series missed me. This character is really great and Kyra was once more at the top of her art. No minute’s rest in this episode.Wow Always, this subtle mixture of drama and humor. A wonderful season 3 begins, it is sure.

I think Season 3 has gotten off to a pretty strong start, and I (like you) just love the mixture of humor and drama. Kyra continues to be spot on brilliant!

Intense ep last night (3x04 / "Ruby"). I don't think I blinked for the first 15-minutes or so. LOL! It was the total opposite from last week's comical ep. I enjoyed it nonetheless. I thought the actor who portrayed the suspect was brilliantly creepy in a get-under-your-skin kind of way. Some his dialogue was just so ... well, ugh! Good, but ugh! Kyra was perfect in this ep. A different side of Brenda was on display, I thought - more intense, serious, less neurotic, sort of brimming with a wide range of emotions (anger, hurt, rage, disgust). Some more recap/thoughts are over at PTR.

Omg, I liked this episode, it was hilarious, a classic of humor on this show. Bliss. Brenda was as I love her, ingenious, hysterical, neurotic, touching, and so funny. And LillyKat thank you for the review, very funny too.

Another great episode last night ("The Round File"). Definitely got back to those lighter moments The Closer is so good at providing (which was welcome after the intensity of last week's child molestation/murder ep). I admit, though, last night's ep made me want to call my 81-year-old grandmother and tell her I love her (seeing as the ep centered around an elderly man trying to get the attention of the LAPD due to some fishy goings-on at a nursing home). CC Connection: Orson Bean played the whistleblower patient (Donald Baxter). Remember him from S2's "Red Glare"? (He played the older Harland Sealey). I love it when former CC guest stars land on The Closer. It's like a bonus and a quiz at the same time. LOL! (Following The Closer, Heartland aired and I saw Mark from S1's "Lover's Lane" was guest-starring on that show ... LOL!) More thoughts/recap over at PTR.

@ frenchfan: You're welcome, too! I loved episode 3 - it was so, so, funny. (Get ready for Episode 4 ... total change of pace. ) Right, LillyKat After a humor-filled episode this past week, the newest episode of The Closer takes darker turn, so intensive and dramatic. Lately, it’s not only presenting detective stories, but tackling the kinds of moral issues that cops around the country face on a regular basis. This episode was so rich. This series grows really season after season. Kyra was once again exceptional, and the interrogation scene was absolutely incredible, in the palette of feelings. Moreover Brenda's quirks and weirdness were completely gone and she was just in detective mode. Surprising. This episode adds also intensity to the dynamic Brenda / Gabriel. After Gabriel's actions, Brenda seems really incapable to forgive and to forget, I look forward to seeing on which way it is going to lead us. Oh really, I love this show.
