Ugh for two reasons! First, there were storms in my area Tues night and the satellite went out 20 mins into TAR. Thank goodness CBS repeats it on Saturday night. But, I was at the gym yesterday and everybody was talking about the show, so I know who got eliminated! I knew exercise was bad for me! Second, I just read, but for some reason can't find anymore (Netscape.com?), that TAR has been doing extremely well for CBS Tues at 10PM. It was the fourth most watched program last week! In fact, they even mentioned that the network might not move it come Fall. So, it looks like we're in for a lot of 10pm showings Naj.

I haven't noticed this before until this past episode. Do you think that it was no mistake that Myrna and Charna couldn't get a flight? Or do you think that the ariport registration are tipped and have a list of the players names and told what to do. Because it looks to me that Myrna and Charna were left with no flights and then all of a sudden at the very end after everyone else they get the best flight to St. Petersburg Russia? And I wanna see how a "Yield" works! How come no one even talks about it? I loved the "Old Tower Restaurant" saga. Just over 2 lbs of caviar! I don't think I've ever eaten it or would want to. It's like swallowing a giant lugey! {that's what Nicole said!} I loved the Russian iconography they had in the room. I have some pieces just like that. I can't believe how sick the one gal (Nicloe) became to the point of just getting so dizzy. I was *lmao* when Myrna and Charna showed up. "I'll do it!" says Myrna. You just knew she was going to chow it down and tick off Colin who hates them both! YUM....this is so good! *that's what Charna said* They practically had the camera shoved up her nose! I've also been following Myrna's crush on Phil. It's been a hug every week and then she kissed him. He was funny cause he knew it was coming! Anyhow I'd like to see the brothers go next. I don't care for them. ~Naj

Naj- I know what you're saying about the flight thing. I was wondering how that flight just opened up, but it was weird b/c they didn't get there b/f everyone else. Nicole and Brandon were first. I was confused by that whole thing anyway. I was wondering if the airlines hold seats out so the racers can get flights, but I don't know how that works. The caviar bit was sooooooooo great! Sadly, I think I would have been like Nicole and Christie. There's no way I could have eaten that, which is why I would have made the guy do it. Too true about Charla. I knew she would woof it right down like it was nothing! I was surprised that NO ONE had had it b/f. I know it's typically a rich person thing, but it still surprised me. Two pounds was a lot! Am I the only one who gets teary eyed at the end each week? I feel like such a dork wiping my eyes, but it's so happy/sad when someone has to go (unless it's a team I don't like). Plus, the way they do the music and the people are crying and talking about how they still have each other and that's all that matters, etc. Oh gosh, I'm getting misty eyed right now just thinking about it! I'm so excited about Egypt on Tues!! It looks so kewl!!!

Injuries cause serious problems for two Teams. Poor map-reading skills threaten to sink one Team lost in the Egyptian desert. Rivalry between two Teams continues at the St. Petersburg airport.

Last night was one heck of a ride! I keep reminding myself that they have more tavel this year. The Russia trip last week took three days!
So last night was the first night that they allowed a FAST FORWARD into the game. I wondered what happened to that. I'm kinda trying to figure out how this will really help the two in the lead but they came in at 11:23 am to the PITSTOP that day followed by Mirny and Charna who only landed at 2:25 pm. So I'm guessing they got their tasks done about 8-9 hours later to be second. That's an interesting time difference!
What I don't understand of feel will be exciting is taking away the mom's money and allowing them to stay in the game. Somehow I don't see that as being exciting. Anyhow....another great episode.

The only thing I could think of with Colin/Christie taking the Fast Forward was that they figured it would be better to just go ahead and use it since there are only 2 this time around. Also, it allows them to leave so much earlier, but then again it will be night time, so the next task probably won't be open. I bet they all catch up next week. I was surprised at the small amount of time the teams spent in Russia. I'm loving these new countries! Egypt is incredible!! What an amazing opportunity. I love how Charla and Mirna take time to enjoy all of the beautiful sights they are seeing. Some of the other teams just race through and miss the incredible landscapes. The only thing I can think of with the non elimination penalty is that they wanted to spice it up a bit. I guess they didn't want the lucky team to get a freebie, so they uped the ante a little bit. I don't see how the soccor moms are going to survive next week with no money. It seems like they'll be busy tryng to get money while the other teams are completing their tasks. I guess we'll have to see. Also, I found this article in my TVGuide. It's a dispatch from critic Matt Roush on the strange scheduling of TAR and Big Brother. Here's the text and its web address: "Roush Review A Reality Odd Couple CBS's strange Tuesday-night bedfellows Sometimes it really is possible for good to come from bad. Or so it would seem if we're to examine the evidence on Tuesday nights this summer and conclude that Big Brother, one of reality TV's all-time sleaziest shows, is helping Emmy-winning class act The Amazing Race become a bona fide hit at last. In their first weeks airing back-to-back on Tuesdays, Race actually beat Brother in the ratings — a reversal from past seasons when Race struggled, presumably because it didn't pander in the debased, manipulative manner of so many of its peers. The shows couldn't provide a more striking contrast of reality TV's highs and lows. The stagnant, cynical Brother embodies the genre's most voyeuristic excesses, an annual wallow of claustrophobic scheming in a tacky house tricked out with wall-to-wall cameras. The exhilarating Race raises the bar, offering a visually spectacular canvas for a round-the-world endurance test that challenges the relationships within teams of two, who face physical and cultural obstacles in order to avoid elimination. This season, to supposedly freshen the franchise, Brother adds a new stunt called "Project DNA, Do Not Assume." First two housemates discover they're half siblings, sharing the same dad. (What is this, The House That Maury Built?) Then we watch as a pair of identical twins switch places and go in and out of the house without anyone else's knowledge. DNA? More like DNR (Do Not Resuscitate). Do yourself a favor and just stick with the Race." www.tvguide.com/tv/roush/review/

Hmmmm.. wouldn't TAR have to get good viewership to win a Prime Time Emmy to begin with? I just don't get this at all.
Anyhow, I did watch Season 2 of BB and I didn't like it at all. I can't believe it's been on every season. Oh well.
Thanks for the article TVFan! I'm still enjoying the show anyway and I really do feel it's a strange combination to have those two shows back to back. I mean it's not going to interest me to watch BB just because TAR follows. :pat:

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I have to agree with Colin on the taxi thing. They still had their backpacks in the car and they hadn't paid the driver yet. Having said that though, I believe that Colin was a jerk for intentionally shoving Mirna in the money exchange line. Why does he have to act that way? I mean, look at Chip and Kim. They are doing great and they play fair and nice. Oh well. I think that Christie should run while she still can. It seems that Mirna might have been on to something with the dominant Colin causing Chrisite to be submissive. He never lets her pick the detour. I always contrast them to Nicole and Brandon, and Brandon treats Nicole so much better (at least from what I can see on this show).
That goat detour was too funny. I couldn't believe it when they started jumping back out of the boat. Mirna really got flustered. If it hadn't been for Charla cheering her on, I don't know if they'd still be in it. I'm not a fan of the brothers, but trying to the race with your knees killing you must be extremely difficult. I'm amazed they got as far as they did. It was so weird to see Phil out on the course like that. Speaking of Phil, did you notice that Mirna put make up on b/f she and Charla crossed the finish line? I didn't see her actually putting it on, but at the end she looked so made up! I was laughing hysterically. She's too funny about Phil. ;D

Hi TV,
I don't think there's been a season where contestents have gotton so distainful with others as this one. I like it. The only mistake I feel they've made in the format is taking away a teams money. It's really lame.
On the next Amazing Race!
Harsh words are exchanged when one Team blocks another Team at the doors into a Cairo Airport terminal.
Two Teams working together gamble on a flight with an earlier connection than a flight the rest are taking. Will the risk pay off with a significant lead?
While one Team gets into a tense argument with bargaining locals, another Team takes a moment to enjoy where they are and bond with some of the local people.
Two Teams face a desperate situation when their bus runs out of gas on a deserted stretch of highway in Africa.
