Looks like CBS is rerunning the first ep tonight at 8pm (EST) in case you want to catch the first one if you missed it or rewatch it.

I wish this show was on earlier in the evening. I think this is the first year they've put it on at 10 pm! ZZZZZ Anyhow it looks like they took away the "Fast Forward". I really liked that option. But this is a good group this season again so I am enjoying it so far. ~Naj

Naj- I hate the timeslot this season. It's up against Law & Order: SVU and I'm trying to catch up on old eps of that show. This means that I have to record one each week. It's such a pain! I noticed the fast forward thing as well. I guess that the yield is replacing it. I was glad to see Allison and Donny get eliminated. They didn't work well together, which is why I think they lost. Donny would have been so much better off without her. She was just so difficult. It always amazes me the way these teams can make huge mistakes and still end up catching up. I thought the daughter and the military Dad were through when the bowling moms tricked them. Then, they ended up in like fourth place. I love that about this show - never count anyone out!

The Amazing Race is a bigger show that Big Brother. My God it won an emmy last year. Why put your strong show on the same night with another reality tv show and then bump it to a late slot? I'm kinda peeved as you can tell. I don't like watching a show at 10 pm like that. I'm too wound up to go to bed. I think we should write to CBS and complain. I know I'm not alone on this. www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race5/#Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and select "FEEDBACK" ~Naj

Hey Naj!
We're definitely not the only two b/c someone wrote into Matt Roush on tvguide online about this very subject. Here's the question/answer (although it must be from someone in the central time zone b/c I get Amazing Race at 10 like you):
--------------------------------------- Question: I think that it is absolutely outrageous for CBS to run Big Brother in the 8 pm time slot while The Amazing Race is on at 9. I would never allow my children to watch Big Brother because of its lack of quality, as well as inappropriate subject matter. However, my 8-year-old loves Amazing Race. It is a fun show that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Why did CBS program these two shows in this manner? — Kate D.
Matt: A fair, and appropriate, complaint. (I would suggest recording it if that's an option, and is any comfort.) But the best explanation for this scheduling has less to do with the respective content of each show than with the fact that Big Brother historically has enjoyed a larger audience than Race. The strategy is that by using Brother as a lead-in to feed Race a significant audience, it should help Race's commercial prospects. So far, that appears to have happened, with Race's opening-night ratings actually exceeding those of Brother. But you're absolutely correct that common sense and decency should dictate that Race air earlier in the evening than the depressing and sleazy Brother.

Continuing my rant. My guess is that "Big Brother" has the target audience the network determined to go after? So what? It didn't win an emmy. I don't feel BB is a good lead in to an already popular show. That's just ridiculous! I absolutley hate BB. I watched the second season and I just thought it was dumb. Oh well. Still a bad mistake from CBS doing that. IMO. ~Naj

Here's a link to his page on TVGuide online. There should be a link at the top of his column to email him. He seems to enjoy all the shows I do, so I always read his stuff. www.tvguide.com/tv/roush/askmatt/Hope this helps.

That scene in the airport the other night was so chaotic. I thought the teams were going to break out in fist fights! It was so crazy. Bummer that the military dad/daughter were eliminated. I guess they just never recovered from the bad flight time they had. It looks like the teams are heading to Russia next week. I can't remember The Amazing Race going there before, but I could be wrong. It should be good though.
Naj- Did you hear anything back from CBS? Just curious to know if they sent you the standard reply email or if they actually addressed your concern.

And the page takes so long to load. It must be because I have minimal ram. Yea, this is a good season again for TAR. I was hpoing the brothers would get eliminated. And why does everyone seem to want to beat the Charna? the little person. Is it out of disgust/bigotry? I was hoping the father/daughter would use their "yield" because I wanted to see how it works. I don't know if that would have been enough for them to beat the brothers. ~Naj

I was hoping the brothers would get eliminated as well. I can't figure out why they're all against Charla and Mirna either. I hope it's not some pride/ego thing, but you never know.

Maybe it is a pride thing thinking it would be an embarassment to lose to a 'little person. I'm also getting the impression that some really don't care too much for Myrna either. I have to say those two do attract attention. I loved Char's dramatic reason for needing to get on the plane as early as possible. "I need to see the doctoro." ~Naj

Yeah that was good! The neat thing about TAR is that it's not always about who's stronger or younger. It has a lot to do with street smarts. The teams that do the best work well together, know how to use a map, have a good sense of direction, and know how to travel well (flights, trains, foreign country obstacles). It seems to be that if you can master those skills, then you're golden on this show. There's also the bad luck factor such as your taxi runs out of gas, a bystander gives you bad directions, etc. But, good teams can overcome these obstacles. I think that Charla and Myrna have these skills. The other teams seem to think that to win the race you have to be young, athletic, and fast. Maybe you're right Naj, maybe the other teams just can't believe that the team with the "little person" is kicking their butts!

It does seem as though trams and such are offered more in this season. They probably did have to figure out a way to help make it more even for Charna.
I notice they are reairing tomorrow. I wonder how long they will keep doing this.

I think the plan is to keep airing the past Tues episodes on Sat until the fall season starts. Then, CBS is supposedly moving it to that timeslot permently. I'm not really happy about them shoving it to Sat nights b/c no one really watches tv on Saturdays. I guess they're hoping TAR will draw people to that night. I guess we'll see.

I just decided to check in on TAR message board over at Survivorsu**ks.com (we have to be careful here due to ProBoards rules of censored words)
There is a thread about Charna and her cousin which I can't give you the title because it's not permitted here.
But if you go over there they have a picture of the two done in photoshop on the 1st page of the thread. I haven't read the rest of the thread yet.
Actually, despite how much they seem to be disliked I'm rooting for them. I think they make it interesting.

I root for Charna and Myrna too. I like them. I think their drive and determination are incredible. They seem to stay positive as well.
