Maybe TNT can pick it up then? They did pick up Southland after Knucklehead Broadcasting Company canceled it.

I'll wait until CBS confirms it but it sadly looks like seven years of this wonderful show is all we're going to get.

Well that sucks a lemon in hell. If they were going to cancel the show, I would have preferred the finale to be a true finale. There's so many unanswered questions from this past season. NBC did the same thing with American Dreams and that really peeved me off, because I loved that show.

I have to agree. The season finale left too many unanswered questions. I'll wait until CBS confirms it...but at the very least, we can be glad we got 7 years of this amazing show.

I blame the writers, they knew this could happen and they didn't give a proper ending

You don't know that the writers knew the show was going to be canceled. No one knows at this point, who knew the show was definitely getting axed. There hasn't even been an official announcement from CBS stating as much.
So wait until we get some confirmation before you start blaming people for it.

Well, the fact that CBS hasn't confirmed it just sounds like what NBC did with Law & Order.

Holding onto a bit of hope, because that article also said that Heroes had been cancelled, but I had read somewhere that they were going to renew it for half a season.
But, still doesn't look good. Oh well, at least CBS can now show such exciting shows as "Help! My Cat is a Psycho!" "America's Most Talented Birds!" "Survivor: New York City" and more!

I'm sorry but at the middle of the season they knew the show was in real danger... so why they didn't give us a proper ending? Lilly having dinner with his brother, sister, father and stepmother Scotty with his family (we got that) Stillman with Yates in a formal relationship Vera again like a normal person Kat & Bell together Jeffries solved his case but he would retire definitively...

Yeah, I definitely agree. I bet the fan fiction writers are loving this right now.... EDIT: I just did a double quote!! Whoo hoo!!

You don't know that the writers knew the show was going to get canceled unless you're a writer or know someone who is and they told you. As far as we know at this point, no one knew aside from the execs at CBS who made the decision. If something comes out later where it was common knowledge amongst the cast and crew, including the writing staff, that would be different. However at this point, again.....we don't even have official word that the show has been canceled. We should wait to play the blame game until that point. As to what a proper ending would entail.....who knows.

I know that when they canceled the show "Married With Children" one of the stars was told that his show was canceled by a fan during his vacation. Before that he had no clue. I believe that fans efforts to save the show werent even considered and I too am very bummed about losing what is my favorite show. And I do think they knew about this for quite some time and just disregarded the fans all the way around. Nice to know we count hey?

Someone somewhere mentioned the male audience 25-49? whatever. (maybe this thread in in the Articles area) I just happened to tune into Survivor finale last night and I totally forgot to look at the commercials. I wonder what it is in those commercials that CBS thinks they buy. But Jeff Probst said this was one of the most memorable successful (don't quote me) seasons. He was saying that back when I watched it faithfully every week for the first 12 seasons. Well, I looked at the figures from Thursday May 13 to see how many millions thinking that the show must be taking in 35-50 million by the way Jeff talks but, no, 13 million viewers. Here's what I really think: spin. They can spin it any way they want to. Heck, Cold Case did that it's first season before racking in more viewers in it's 8 pm time slot. Same goes for The Amazing Race garnering 10 million the last I checked.
This is purely speculation, on my part, but the way Kathryn spoke on the Bonnie Hunt show was that they pulled out all the stops to try to ensure another season. Granted, as far a I know as a fan, this was Kathryn's last year of her contract so maybe it was a well known fact that CC would have it's last season. But on the other hand if that was so, then why then they would have said up front it was their last season so maybe they just weren't sure ....

IF they cancel it, it's going to come down to one thing and one thing only, money.

So, here in Brazil we love Cold Case. And we are in a campaign. We have a community on Orkut about the show, and there are combining to post on twitter the tag: #savecoldcase by CBS to announce the renewal or cancellation of the show. So who has twitter, post #savecoldcase Thanks

I don't want to be rude, but CBS won't bother to look at it. I'm guessing they've made their decision and will announce it tonight or either tomorrow (in my time), so there's nothing else we can do. We just have to stay positive, which is hard to do with all the rumours going around. I hope the fans did enough to convince CBS to renew it.
