Both of them agreed not to tell anyone about pregnancy. During the following week Lilly was puking a lot but managed not to get herself any attention from fellow detectives. On Saturday Lilly and Scotty together with Bella went to ob/gyn to do first ultrasound.
"It's your first pregnancy, Lilly?" doctor asked when they came into the office
"Yes. Isabella's...adopted"
"Do you have any questions about pregnancy then? Before we do ultrasound." After doctor answered few of Lilly's questions he instructed her to lie down. He put a gel on her belly and turn the monitor on.
"Ready to see your baby?" he asked Lil and Scotty as the both nodded
"Well, now. That's a surprise" doctor was closely looking at the monitor
Scotty took Lilly's hand as he saw she got little scared, the both looked at the doctor
"Looks like you're having twins" doctor smiled and looked at parents-to-be but Lilly already fainted


When Lilly woke up she was at home lying in bed. She looked to her side to see Scotty talking to Bella.
"Isn't your mummy gorgeous. Isn't she?" Scotty threw Isabella up in the air and then caught her.
"Me or Chris?" Lilly asked.
"You ofcourse."
"Do you think she will call me mum?" Lilly asked.
"Probably."
Lilly slowly sat up and crawled over to Scotty. She rested her head on his shoulder and looked at Bella.
"You think I'll be a good mum?"
"Lil, you are great with Bella. You'll be fine, you just need to stay calm."
"I overeact sometimes yeah?" Lilly asked.
"No, you just don't handle stress that well."
Lilly let her body fall back down against the bed.
"Now I know why the cravings are so strong. I got two inside me."
"Well, I guess we need to by a bigger house."
Lilly laughed and looked up at Scotty. "Go make me something to eat," she whispered.

When Lilly woke up she was at home lying in bed. She looked to her side to see Scotty talking to Bella.
"Isn't your mummy gorgeous. Isn't she?" Scotty threw Isabella up in the air and then caught her.

"Do you think she will call me mum?" Lilly asked.

Lilly slowly sat up and crawled over to Scotty. She rested her head on his shoulder and looked at Bella.
"You think I'll be a good mum?"
"Lil, you are great with Bella. You'll be fine, you just need to stay calm."

Lilly and Scotty decided to invite his parents, Lilly’s father and his family and the squad to a dinner party to officially announce that they are expecting.
“Ok…so what’s going on, kids?” Nick asked them when they started eating
“Yeah, what’s the occasion?” Stillman looked at Lilly
“I bet Lilly’s pregnant” Finn chuckled, all guests smiled and laughed a little but they stopped when Lilly and Scotty were nodding their heads, awkward silence arose
“You’re serous?” asked Nick seeing Lilly confirm it “Wow! Congratulations, kid!”
Cooper stood up and approached Lilly hugging her “I’m so happy for you”
“When are you due?” Kat asked Lilly
“January. Seven more months” Lilly smiled
“But that’s not end of the news” Scotty raised his wine glass “We’re expecting twins” he couldn’t stop smiling, he was clearly proud
“Really? Nice job, Valens” Nick winked to Scotty “Ouch…What?”
“Don’t act like a jerk” Kat nudged him
“You probably should buy a bigger house” Paul said to Scotty
“Yeah, I don’t think we can afford it” Lilly responded before Scotty could say anything
“We can help them, right dad?” Finn looked at his father and mother
“Of course we can, darling” Celeste smiled
“No…no…we’ll be fine” Lilly clearly didn’t want her father or his wife help, especially financial one

Lilly sighed and looked down. Scotty reached out and rubbed her belly.
"I'm startin to show."
"Yeah."
In a swift move Scoty spun her around, mimicking dance moves. "I was thinking..." Lilly whispered.
"Yeah."
"That maybe I want to get married soon."
"'Cause of the babies?"
"No...I really love you Scotty. Maybe after they are born we can do it."
Scotty smiled. "Alright. Only if you want to."
"I really really want to."

“Do they have to live in Philly?” Paul changed a subject asking Stillman
“No. They can move out of the city”
“Then maybe you should be looking for a house on Jersey side” Paul said to Lilly
“Why, yes. We would be closer to help you with the kids” Celeste added
“And what about us?” both Scotty’s parents raised their voice
“Neighborhoods are nicer in Jersey. Better environment to raise children” Paul got defensive
“There are good neighborhoods in Philly. Besides they are our grandchildren, too” Rosa looked angry
Both, Scotty’s and Lilly’s parents, got into a debate what is better and who should have more to say when it came to grandchildren.
“It’s starting already” Lilly whispered to Scotty
“Stay calm, Lil.” he whispered back “More wine anyone?” he tried to calm the situation down but

“They’re fine. But you can’t get so stressed anymore. Doc recommended you stay home till the labor” Scotty knew she’s too stubborn to listen to doctors, but got worried for her and their unborn children
“You know that I’ll get bored at home. Stay-at-home mom…that’s not who I am”
“I know, Lil. But it would be better, just for a short while” he tried to convince her “Where do you think you’re going” Scotty asked seeing Lilly trying to get up
“Bathroom. What, Valens? Think that might be too much stress?” she said sarcastically and went in closing door behind her; when she got back she lied back on the bed
“Give her to me” she said seeing Isabella wake up and getting cranky, he placed Issy gently by Lilly’s side
Lil gently stroke Issy’s back making her fall back to sleep, it also made Lil cry softly. She, for the first time, felt like a mother to Isa and not just a guardian. She loved that feeling and now more than ever wanted the twins to be born already so she could hold them and kiss them and cuddle them close to her. She knew that life will not be perfect and definitely not easy, juggling work and parenthood, but she was happy as long as she has Scotty and all their kids by her.
“Tell my dad to set up meeting with realtor to look for the house” she looked at Scotty who’s eyes were now also in tears “But here, in Philly. That’s their home” she placed a hand on her tummy and looked at Issy

She walked to the kitchen and saw Scotty feeding Bella.

“Dad? What are you doing here?” Lil was shocked to see her father come by the headquarters “Is Isabella ok?”
“Yeah, Lil. She’s at my home” he sounded angry “We were supposed to meet with realtor, remember? And you didn’t show. So grab your coat and let’s go”
“Oh, I forgot, dad. I can’t. We’re kind of busy today” she went to grab some files from her desk
“Lil” Scotty saw the whole situation coming in “Go with your dad. We need to find a new home before they are born.” he moved closer to her and stroked her abdomen “Twins will not wait for a slow day, so go”; Lil grumbled but grabbed her coat.
None of the homes they saw during next few days was what Lilly was looking for, and she was getting tired hearing both Paul and Scotty nag her about deciding on one. That was until she saw a perfect little house, 3 bedrooms and basement, close to park and also close to work. It was also in price range Lilly and Scotty could afford without getting to much financial help from her dad, which made Lilly even more happy. All the paper work took a short time and moving day was here but unfortunately it wasn't easy day since Scotty's parents and Lilly's father together with Finn were helping them...

As Finn and Scotty lifted chairs out of the movong van, Lilly sat on the couch which was outside their new home.

“Leave me alone” she yelled but Paul pulled her towards him turning her
“Lilly…by baby…all I want is your happiness”
“I am happy, dad…when you’re not here. You cannot treat me like some 6 year old. I’m-“
“a grown woman. I know” he finished her though “Forgive me but I want to be a father to you so desperately it makes me do stupid things”
Lilly slide her hand over her belly as if she wanted to protect the twins “I turned out just fine without your help and if you can’t act mature I’ll make damn sure they will also grow up strong without your help” Lilly shaken off his grip and walked towards her car.
When she got herself to driver seat and turned the engine on, Finn got in on passenger side
“Get out” she whispered but her brother just sat there in silence “I mean it, Finn. Get out!” she yelled which made her little dizzy; Finn noticed that and without saying anything he managed to make her switch seats. Minutes later they were driving down the street
“Whenever you’re ready to talk, Lil…” Finn acted more maturely than his age would suggest that, and surely he acted more maturely that their father.

Finn felt for his half-sister. He never knew it hurted so much for her untill he realised he would have hated growing up without his father.

After a couple more minutes Lilly breathed in loudly. "I just...I love Scotty so much, I don't want anyone getting in the way of that...or the babies."
Finn nodded. "Dad just wants to help."

"He just loves you so much. He does what he thinks is best for you."
"What he thinks is best for me had always been the worst. It always will be."
Finn realised Lilly was talking about her childhood and how lonely she felt without her father around.

"..." At first Lilly had no clue what to say. "It hurt so much. I'd look around and see all these little girls with their fathers, so happy and smiling. I wanted that. It's his fault I didn't get that."
Finn felt for his half-sister. He never knew it hurted so much for her untill he realised he would have hated growing up without his father.

Finn pulled up to one of the cheesesteak joints in the city and exited the car while Lilly, with her head down, sat in silence. He returned few minutes later and handed her a sandwich
“Heard pregnant women are hungry all the time” Finn smiled while Lilly chuckled and grabbed the sandwich happy that someone has though of her cravings
“Isn’t it strange how children are more mature than their parents” she said with her mouth full
“Yeah, you should look out for those two then” Finn nodded his head pointing at his sister belly
Finn drove off to the nearest park where they sat and talked for few hours making Lilly realize that she, deep down inside, wanted to be a ‘big sister’ and regretted that she never had a chance to talk so carefree with Christina. When they realized the time Finn droved them back to Lilly’s new house where situation was already stable between two fathers-in-law.
When Finn was ready to get out of the car Lilly stopped him “Hey…Finn?”
“Yeah? What’s up sis?” he turned to her with the widest smile possible which made her chuckle
“I was thinking…I’m going for an ultrasound soon…wanna be the first to know if you’re going to have nieces or nephews? Or maybe one of each?”
“What about Scotty?” Finn was surprised by the offer
“I think he’ll understand. Besides he’s still undecided whether he wants to know or not”
Finn nodded “If you want me to be there…sure”

Finn pulled up to one of the cheesesteak joints in the city and exited the car while Lilly, with her head down, sat in silence. He returned few minutes later and handed her a sandwich

"Oh and my dad wants you to know he won't be disagreeing with your father anymore. He'll do his best to agree."

Less than a week after move-in day both fathers were at each other throats again, screaming loudly on the front lawn making the neighborhood take a notice, yet this time it was Paul on the receiving end of the punch. It was helluva way for Scotty and Lilly to meet their new neighbors when two Philly police cars showed up lights flashing and four officers began separating from the fight the two old men still wrestling on the lawn. After Ramiro and Paul were separated and were cooling off at squad cars, Lilly came to the officers and showed her badge with Scotty doing the same. Lilly, furious with rage, immediately went towards the squad car in which her father was and entered the back sit.

“Scotty” she corrected Cooper
“Scotty…he’s not…they are not…”
“I have to get back to work, so could you speed it up” her look could freeze the glass of water in an instance
“He’s not right for you.”
Lilly eyes widened in shock. She couldn’t believe that her father, who wasn’t there for most of her life, had a nerve to tell her Scotty wasn’t right for her.
“He doesn’t even know you” Paul continued
“Oh, and you do?” she retorted
“Lilly, I know you don’t go for all that spiritual mumbo-jumbo” he clenched his fists trying to stay calm “but he’s parents, and apparently him too, want your children to be christened”
Lilly stormed out of the coffee shop. Oh, she was mad as hell, but not at her father anymore. She was mad at Scotty.

Scotty instantly sighed and knew he was in alot of trouble.
"I'm waiting..." Lilly whispered, feeling angry at his lack of communication with her.
"My parents always wanted there grandchildren christened."
"And you didn't think to inform me of this?"
"Lil...it's what they want. I knew you didn't want it and to tell you the truth, I don't really want it either."
Lilly looked back at Scotty suspiciously, not knowing whether to trust him.
"They tried to talk me into it, but I told them no, they dropped it." Scotty whispered, moving closer to Lilly.
"My father thinks otherwise."
"God Lil, stop letting our families interrfer with our relationship."
"But he doesn't think we will work out."
As soon as those words came out of Lilly's mouth, Scotty punched the wall. He let his head rest against the cold surface, about to lose it.
"I love you Lil. I don't care what anyone else thinks. I love you."
Lilly smiled and reached for Scotty. "I just need to make sure you will talk these things through with me next time."
"There was nothing to talk about, I sorted it out."
"Scotty!"
"Alright, Alright. I promise."

As she walked back into work she pulled Scotty into a interrogation room.

Lilly stepped out form interrogation room but suddenly stopped and turned to Scotty
“I’m going for an ultrasound tomorrow. You still don’t want to know the sex of the twins, right?”
Scotty approached her and put his hand on her belly “I want to be surprised when they’re born” and then he did something unexpected, something that no one in the squad room ever saw or ever wanted to see from fellow detective – Scotty kneeled down putting his hands around Lilly’s waist and he…started quietly and with hint of sweetness baby-talking to their unborn twins. Everyone in the room just stopped and starred at Scotty
“Scotty…” Lilly looked around the room “we’re…uh…we’re at work” she was clearly embarrassed
“What?” he looked up at her “Oh…ahmm…yeah…right” he got up and looked around, with other detectives’ looks locked at him he just cleared his throat
“Not such a tough guy anymore. Nice Valens. You’re gonna breastfeed them too?” Vera couldn’t stop laughing
Scotty passed him and went to his desk grabbing first file laying there and sat down pretending to be reading it mortified to look up to meet any of his colleagues eyes
After a second he jump in his seat feeling someone putting a hand on his shoulder
“Remember what you promised” Lilly whispered in his ear “I don’t want to hear any plans regarding me, us, or the twins…or even Isa….from my father first and not you”
He smiled without looking up from the file “I promise, Lil”
