Lilly stepped out form interrogation room but suddenly stopped and turned to Scotty
“I’m going for an ultrasound tomorrow. You still don’t want to know the sex of the twins, right?”
Scotty approached her and put his hand on her belly “I want to be surprised when they’re born” and then he did something unexpected, something that no one in the squad room ever saw or ever wanted to see from fellow detective – Scotty kneeled down putting his hands around Lilly’s waist and he…started quietly and with hint of sweetness baby-talking to their unborn twins. Everyone in the room just stopped and starred at Scotty
“Scotty…” Lilly looked around the room “we’re…uh…we’re at work” she was clearly embarrassed
“What?” he looked up at her “Oh…ahmm…yeah…right” he got up and looked around, with other detectives’ looks locked at him he just cleared his throat
“Not such a tough guy anymore. Nice Valens. You’re gonna breastfeed them too?” Vera couldn’t stop laughing
Scotty passed him and went to his desk grabbing first file laying there and sat down pretending to be reading it mortified to look up to meet any of his colleagues eyes
After a second he jump in his seat feeling someone putting a hand on his shoulder
“Remember what you promised” Lilly whispered in his ear “I don’t want to hear any plans regarding me, us, or the twins…or even Isa….from my father first and not you”
He smiled without looking up from the file “I promise, Lil”

Lilly held Finn's hadn as she sat in the waiting room. Lilly was clearly nervous and Finn saw it. Finn squeezed Lilly's hand, making her turn to him.
"What do you want more?" Finn asked, staring at her swollen belly.
"I don't know. I guess maybe one of both."
"Yeah?"
"Well, definitely a girl in there somewhere."
Lilly's half-brother smiled at his sisters nervousness.
"My dad was talking to me today."
"Finn..."
"Please listen. He said he didn't want to interfer, but he thought it was for the best."
"I don't want him interferring with anything! I love him, but no one can seperate me and Scotty." Lilly made clear.
"I didn't say I wanted to seperate you. Scotty loves you, I can clearly see that. Im just letting you know."
"Mrs Rush," a doctor called. Lilly smiled as her and Finn stood up.

Lilly held Finn's hand as she sat in the waiting room. Lilly was clearly nervous and Finn saw it. Finn squeezed Lilly's hand, making her turn to him.
"What do you want more?" Finn asked, staring at her swollen belly.
"I don't know. I guess maybe one of both."
"Yeah?"
"Well, definitely a girl in there somewhere."
Lilly's half-brother smiled at his sisters nervousness.
"My dad was talking to me today."
"Finn..."
"Please listen. He said he didn't want to interfere, but he thought it was for the best."
"I don't want him interfering with anything! I love him, but no one can separate me and Scotty." Lilly made clear.
"I didn't say I wanted to separate you. Scotty loves you, I can clearly see that. I’m just letting you know."
"Mrs. Rush," a doctor called. Lilly smiled as her and Finn stood up.

“Miss” she corrected the doctor as Lil and Finn went in to one of the rooms
“Oh, yes” doctor looked into the file “Ms. Rush and father’s…Valens” doctor looked up at Finn and smiled “And Mr. Valens somehow got younger”
“This is my brother…half-brother. Brother.” Lilly was still nervous but Finn put a hand on Lil’s shoulder trying to calm her down
“Don’t worry, sis. This ultrasound thing, I Googled it and there was nothing mentioned about pain “ he smiled “It said it only tickles”
“I had it before, you know” she shot him a look, but somehow it didn’t scare him just made him smile even more
Lilly lie down and doctor began the ultrasound. Finn was by her side amazed at what he saw on the monitor “That’s…them?”
“Yes. Here’s one” doctor pointed at the monitor “and here’s the other one. Everything looks excellent” he smiled “Now let’s try if we can see the sex of any of them”
Lilly looked at the doctor puzzled “I thought-“ but doctor immediately started the explanation
“With twins it’s not always possible since one can kind of hide behind the other one. It all depends how they are positioned during the ultrasound---“
“---well, one is definitely a boy” doctor pointed out after a minute” but it’s hard to see the sex of the other one”
Finn saw that Lilly was smiling but she wasn’t entirely happy
“What it looks like is” doctor continued ”that they are fraternal twins, so the other baby can be either boy or a girl”

After they exited doctor’s office Lilly, in complete silence, drove Finn back to his home
“I’m sure the other one is a girl” Finn broke the silence finally
“How can you be so sure?”
“Well…I have faith. The girl you want and the girl you’ll have” he smiled and Lilly couldn’t believe her brother…half-brother…brother was so optimistic all the time

After they exited doctor’s office Lilly, in complete silence, drove Finn back to his home
“I’m sure the other one is a girl” Finn broke the silence finally
“How can you be so sure?”
“Well…I have faith. The girl you want and the girl you’ll have” he smiled and Lilly couldn’t believe her brother…half-brother…brother was so optimistic all the time.

As Lilly sat in the car waiting for Finn to come out, her father opened the door and sat beside her.
"What are you having?" Cooper asked.
"One is a boy, the other I don't know."
"Are you happy with that?"
"I guess. Hoping the other is girl."
Cooper smiled and reached over to grab his daughters hand. "I hope none of what happened comes between us."
Lilly pulled away shooting daggers at her father. "It already has. Whatedver is going on between me and Scotty is none of your business."
"It won't work out. I don't want to see you unhappy."
"But dad, I am happy. I love him, he loves me, were having a baby."
Cooper sighed and opened the car. "Aliright, just as long as you know how I feel."
Asd he walked away Lilly's anger grew. Her father had no right to interfer and she was not going to let him ruin anything for her or Scotty.

When Lilly came home that evening Isabella was in her playpen, situated in living room, unhappy that she’s there and trying to climb out. Lilly glanced at the couch and spotted Scott with his legs on the coffee table dully watching some football game and drinking beer. There were already few empty bottles on the floor. Lil wanted to yell at Scotty at first, but she stopped herself. That person on the couch didn’t look like a typical lazy-ass-drunk but a person in very deep pain. Lilly took her coat off and went to Isa bending over the playpen
“Hey, sweetie” Lil kissed her on the forehead, took a Teddy bear and handed it to Issie “you wanna play with Teddy?”
Bella smiled and sat down exploring every inch of the toy. Lil then sat on the couch next to Scotty. He immediately put his head on her shoulder and she smelled the stench of alcohol but knew that they need to talk.
“Scotty…what’s wrong?”
“I can’t stand him anymore…” he muttered
“Him? My dad, you mean?”
He shook his head slowly “My dad…”

Lilly walked over to him and pulled him into an embrace. As he cried Lilly rubbed his back.
"You need to tell him this Scotty. He won't back off untill he knows it's effecting you."
Scotty cried harder which made Isabella start to cry to. As Lilly cradeled the two on the couch she felt the twins kicking. Lilly knew that things needed to be sorted out before the babies came along.
While thinking she realised she she needed to send out the wedding invitations.

That thought also made Lilly realize, that Isabella has her first birthday comin’ up and Lil needed to invite people for that party too...and soon. The weeks past and Isabella's birthday was near. The day came and it was all a rush. The wedding invitations were sent out and Lilly was waiting for Patrick to arrive.

Bella was sitting at a chair surrounded by friends and family. As the cake came out Patrick arrived.
"Hello Lilly," everyone heard him say.
"You're here for Bella, not for me."
As they sang happy birthday to Isa she stared at Patrick. Patrick came closer and went to hug her. Isa pushed him away and screamed, "I ahte you," as she ran inside.
Lilly glared at her ex and Lilly ran inside after Isabella. As Patrick stood up Scotty stood in his way.
"You upset her on her birthday."
"She's just doesn't understand who I am." Patrick pleaded.
"No one upsets her on her day."
Patrick swung forward trying to swing a punch. Lucikly Scotty stopped him. "You either leave, or I'll have to kick you out."
Patrick slowly walked at. Back in the house Lilly was craddling Isabella as she cried.
"Mummy," was all she got out. Lilly explianed to Bella that Patrick was her father but he was not a nice man. Lilly didn't have a clue if she understood but as Scotty enetered the room, Bella stopped crying and ran into Scotty's arms. Lilly could tell they both needed Scotty.

“Did she just call you daddy?” Lilly whispered
“I don’t know where she got it from. When I play with her I use ‘Scotty’ not…daddy. Don’t want her to confuse me with Patrick”
“I…” Finn startled them as he walked in “I think…she picked it up at our house”
Lilly looked very confused “Your house?”
“Yeah” Finn smiled “Dad kinda…for the last few weeks…he was saying to her how Scotty is her daddy and…uh…that her daddy will pick her up and then Scotty came to pick her up” Finn approached Scotty and gently stroked Isa’s hair “She connected the dots. She’s a smart kid, sis”
Lilly couldn’t believe what she has heard; she passed both of them and went to the backyard. She swiftly approached Paul, with tears in her eyes, and hugged him.

Scotty picked Isa up and she right away hugged him. As Lilly moved closer to Scotty to hug him too she suddenly stopped as Isa cried out “Daddy” into his shoulder

"Oh that, well...I realised that you love eachother alot more than I thought. I guessed that she needed to learn he was gonna be a father figure to her."
"Thanks Dad." Lilly whispered and gave her father one last hug before cleaning up the mess that was left around the backyard.
While Lilly was cleaning up she felt Scotty's strong arms wrap around her waist. "I got Bella to sleep."
Lilly turned in his arms and wrapped her arms around his neck. "She loves you."
"I love her too."
As the two shared a passionate kiss Cooper watched from the sidelines. He could tell his daughter was finally happy.
"I'm going to pick up my dress today." Lilly whispered against Scotty's neck.
"Does it fit?"
"Don't be silly. After the twins are born I'm gonna hit the gym."
"Oh." Scotty moaned, spinning Lilly around and capturing her lips un a soft kiss.

“What happened? She had a nightmare?” Scotty asked in sleepy voice as he stood in the doorway
“Don’t know” Lil whispered; Isa was calming down slowly falling asleep in Lilly’s arms
Scotty kneeled down by the chair and kissed Isa on the forehead
“Want me to stay by?” he asked Lil
“Nah, I’m ok. I’ll stay with her for a while” she looked at him and they shared a kiss before Scotty got up
“Oh, did you pick up the dress?” he asked before leaving the bedroom
“Yes.” she saw Scotty raise his eyebrows and grin “Oh no, Valens. You’re not going to se me in it till the wedding”
Scotty’s smile disappeared “Yeah, yeah, I know…bad luck”
Minutes later Scotty was asleep again as Lilly sat in the chair still cuddling Isa. Suddenly Bella woke up again crying aloud calling “daddy”
“Hey, sweetie. You want daddy to hold you?” Lilly saw Isa slightly nod her head “Ok, let’s go to daddy”
Lil with Isa went to their bedroom and laid down in the bed, Isabella crawled to Scotty and hugged him and he placed and arm around her and tucked her in by his side and she fell asleep again.
“Think she has nightmares about Patrick” Lilly whispered
“Yeah, guess so. What’s up with that guy? First he fights for visitations, when rarely shows up” Scotty took Lil’s hand “Glad you didn’t marry him”
“I’m glad about that too” she turned and smiled to him as they fell asleep with Isa inbetween them

The two rang the rest of the team, asking them if they had seen her anywhere.
No one had noticed her around. Lilly searched her room noticing that everything was still in lace except for one little teddy which Bella adored.
As Lilly searched outside, while Scotty searched for any signs of her.
After hours of searching finally Scotty heard whimpering coming from the backyard next door to them. As he jumped the fence he noticed a small blonde hiding in a tree.
Scotty walked closer and whispered, "Bella."
Slowly the little toddler came crawling out. Isa crawled to Scotty and wrapped her arms around his legs.
Scotty picked the small child up and calmed her down.
"Lil," he called, "I found her."
Lilly came rushing out and hugged Isabella. She cried as the Bella held onto Scotty.
Lilly knew that Isabella was suffering and it needed to be stopped.

Scotty took Isa to the living room and they watched cartoons as Lilly watched them laugh, having an amazing ‘father-daughter’ time. She decided to meet with Patrick that same day hoping to end Isa’s suffering.

Lilly was in the coffee shop glancing at the watch every few minutes. Patrick was running late almost an hour now and when he finally showed up Lil couldn’t hold her anger back any more
“What the hell is wrong with you, Patrick?” all people looked at them when she yelled at Pat “Every time you show up late when you show up at all. I learned a long time ago you don’t care about anyone, but you fought so hard to have contacts with Isabella and now…now you don’t care anymore about her.”
“Nice to see you too, Lil” he retorted calmly “You look nice by the way. Although, pregnancy doesn’t suite you. Makes you look…fat”
“Excuse me?” she was stunned by his words
“If you were my wife, I would never allow you to get pregnant. If you would I would make you abort it” his voice still calm
Lil just stared at him in disbelieve “All you wanted is to prove a point, is that it? Prove that you can get visitations. You don’t care about Isa at all”
“Oh Lilly, I care about you…or at least I cared…but now you have kids on the way…When I wanted to marry you I wanted you…not a bunch of babies running around” Patrick casually drank coffee
Lil got up ready to storm out when his word stopped her
“You can’t keep me away from my child. Court gave me rights to see her. I’m still her father!” he got up but was still calm
“You have to be around to earn that title.” Lilly added before walking out

Lilly was in the coffee shop glancing at the watch every few minutes. Patrick was running late almost an hour now and when he finally showed up Lil couldn’t hold her anger back any more
“What the hell is wrong with you, Patrick?” all people looked at them when she yelled at Pat “Every time you show up late when you show up at all. I learned a long time ago you don’t care about anyone, but you fought so hard to have contacts with Isabella and now…now you don’t care anymore about her.”
“Nice to see you too, Lil” he retorted calmly “You look nice by the way. Although, pregnancy doesn’t suite you. Makes you look…fat”
“Excuse me?” she was stunned by his words
“If you were my wife, I would never allow you to get pregnant. If you would I would make you abort it” his voice still calm
Lil just stared at him in disbelieve “All you wanted is to prove a point, is that it? Prove that you can get visitations. You don’t care about Isa at all”
“Oh Lilly, I care about you…or at least I cared…but now you have kids on the way…When I wanted to marry you I wanted you…not a bunch of babies running around” Patrick casually drank coffee
Lil got up ready to storm out when his word stopped her
“You can’t keep me away from my child. Court gave me rights to see her. I’m still her father!” he got up but was still calm
“You have to be around to earn that title.” Lilly added before walking out .

When Lilly returned home she told Scotty about the events. Scotty was furious, wanting to show Patrick that his fiance was not someone to mess with. However he kept his calm, knowing Lilly needed him at that moment.
As Lilly hugged Scotty the phone rang.
It was Patrick telling her that he wanted to have more to do with Isabella. Lilly yelled at him, nearly loosing her temper. Before Lilly could take it too far, Scotty took over. Scotty and Lilly knew that Patrick could not be stopped from seeing his daughter. They agreed to let me see her every Saturday.
When that Saturday came, Patrick showed up with a bunch of flowers for Lilly. Everything was going well, however they didn't know that Patrick was planning to fight for custody on the weekends.

When Lilly returned home she told Scotty about the events. Scotty was furious, wanting to show Patrick that his fiance was not someone to mess with. However he kept his calm, knowing Lilly needed him at that moment.
As Lilly hugged Scotty the phone rang.
It was Patrick telling her that he wanted to have more to do with Isabella. Lilly yelled at him, nearly loosing her temper. Before Lilly could take it too far, Scotty took over. Scotty and Lilly knew that Patrick could not be stopped from seeing his daughter. They agreed to let me see her every Saturday.
When that Saturday came, Patrick showed up with a bunch of flowers for Lilly. Everything was going well, however they didn't know that Patrick was planning to fight for custody on the weekends.

It was a first weekend after court granted Patrick custody on every other weekend. There was an eerie silence in the house since Isa was with Patrick and Lilly and Scotty were having very limited conversations with each other, both sadden by the courts decision.
“I’m going to bed” Lil whispered standing up form the couch
“Hey…We have to get used to it, Lil. It’s going to be ok.” Scotty wanted to hug her but she moved pass him
“Yeah? How do you figure? Bastard is doing this just to mess with me and he hurts Isa by doing so”
“Lil, she should spend time with him. He is her father”
“Some people shouldn’t be parents” Lilly muttered
Lilly tossed and turned unable to fall asleep. She heard phone ring and then Scotty’s voice but was unable to make out his words. Suddenly she heard him rush up the stairs “Lil, get up” he entered the bedroom tossing her coat on the bed “Isa’s in the hospital”
Lilly’s eyes widened in shock “What happened?” she asked him while running down the stairs
“Patrick messed up real good this time” Scotty grabbed the keys and they were on their way to the hospital

Scotty picked up the toddler and craddled her in his arms.
Lilly smiled at the little blondes love for Scotty.

After the two returned home Patrick showed up at their house.
"I'm real sorry Lil. She just went crazy at me for no reason."
"Patrick. You don't understand. She doesn't want anything to do with you, can't you just let us have her?"
"No Lilly. She is my daughter!"
"You never wanted her."
"Well I do now."
"You're doing this to get at me."
Patrick pushed Lilly back and she fell.
Scotty came running and picked up his pregnant fiance. Before they culd say anything he ran out speeding off in his car.

When they got the hospital they found out where Isabella was they rushed to the room.
When they ran in they saw Isabella throwing around the blankets and nurses trying to calm her down. Isabellas eyes found Scotty's and she instantly stopped.
Scotty picked up the toddler and craddled her in his arms.
Lilly smiled at the little blondes love for Scotty.

After the two returned home Patrick showed up at their house.

“You made a great move, Patrick. You are charged with assault and that will not look good for family court. Looks like you will loose custody and visitations rights” Lil couldn’t hide her smile
“You can’t prove I did anything to you” Patrick got up and moved close to the bars
“Hey, pal.” Scotty got his attention “I witnessed what you did. Adding that you were at our house makes our case even better. Plus Bella’s earlier visit at the hospital…judge will not be happy” Scotty looked at Lil “but our attorney will be”
Couple turned to leave
“You can’t keep me away from her!” Patrick shouted which made Lilly cry
Scotty hugged his fiancé “I’ll do everything possible to protect Isa” he whispered
“Nothing will stop him” Lil cried out

With Lilly and Scotty having to do with Lil's pregnancy and Isabella, their relationship was not doing well.
As Lilly lay at home, Scotty went out for a walk with Bella. Lilly felt the twins kicking hard which made her think ofher due date. She was just two weeks away from the birth date.

On their way to the hospital Scotty called Paul who fortunately was nearby and arrived at the hospital almost at the same time as they did. Cooper took Isabella while Scotty went with Lilly to the delivery room.
Doctor tried to calm Lilly down and together with Scotty they were telling her to breathe when she suddenly grabbed doctor by the tie and pulled him closer “I want freakin’ Epidural” Lil said through her teeth
“There is no time for it Lilly.”
She grabbed Scotty’s hand almost breaking his fingers. Few pushes and tons of swear words later Lilly heard first baby crying
“It’s a boy” nurse announced while wrapping him in the blanket
“Lilly, one more push and you’re done” doctor instructed her
After that one more push Lilly heard second baby cry
“You have a girl” another nurse took the baby and wrapped her in the blanket
Lil grabbed Scotty by the shirt “You do this to me again Valens and I swear I’ll—“
“Lil, shh…it’s over.” he interrupted her “We have a boy and a girl, you heard them, we have a boy and the girl” He stroked her hair and kissed her on the forehead
Lilly’s attention now focused on two babies and she smiled while nurses placed newborns on Lilly’s chest

Lilly’s attention now focused on two babies and she smiled while nurses placed newborns on Lilly’s chest.

As Lilly craddled the newborns she smiled at them.
"She looks like you," Scotty whispered, pointing to the little girl.
"You think?"
"Yeah, and the boy looks like me."
Lilly couldn't help but smile again at Scotty's proudness. "You glad you done this to me?" Lilly asked.
"Yep. Otherwise we wouldn't have our own little family."
"I wouldn't call it little anymore."
As the nurses left Lilly breastfed both the newborns. Once done she sat there as Scotty craddled the little girl. Lilly started whispering sweet words of nothing to her baby boy when Isabella came walking in.
They both laughed as she struggled to clim up the bed.
Cooper lifted her up and she patted her brothers head.
"Be careful Bella. Remember what we told you?" Lilly asked.
Isabella looked up at her mother and went back to staring at her sister and brother.

"Yeah, and the boy looks like me."

Cooper kissed her daughter on the forehead “I love you and I’m so proud of you, Lilly”
Door opened again and Finn slowly approached the bed looking at newborns “Wow…they look much cuter in real life, you know” couple and Paul chuckled “So, sis? What are their names?”
Lilly smile disappeared, her eyes widened as she looked as Scotty seeing shock on his face too
“We…with all the things that happened…” Scotty started
“We didn’t discuss any names” Lilly finished his sentence glancing at her father and Finn
“Great” Paul chuckled “Baby Girl Valens and Baby Boy Valens for now then?”
“Got any names in mind?” Lil looked at Scotty
“Hmm…Amy…Katie or Gracie? And for boy Alex or Josh or Jake?” Scotty raised his eyebrow “How about you, Lil? Any names on your mind?” he smiled
