This sounds very interesting. I see Anna Mayes and Frannie are back for this one! I wonder where "Josie chippy" is?
ETA - I just saw in the spoilers section that this ep was written by Liz Garcia, so I'm officially psyched!! She did such a brilliant job with "The Sleepover" and "Best Friends" last season. Can't wait for this one!

I'm getting excited about this one too. Annie, Frannie, supposed first ep, Liz. Looking good.
They've never had an assumed identity case. Should be interesting.

Okay so I've just watched this ep and here's what I think: The case - great, I really felt for bettie and felt really sad at how she died. Lilly - WOW, didn't she look just gorgeous!!! Her hair looked amazing and she is just so pretty!! No-one commented on it which sucked but I'll get over that. My usual complaint now though; there just wasn't enough of her in this episode and still no personal stuff!! I'm beginning to get a little impatient now. I did like the comment about her mom being off with a rock band though! She really needs a man to come into her life right now!! Scotty and "Josie chippy" - what is wrong with Scotty!! Where did all that come from? Good on "Josie chippy" for not letting anything happen. But Scotty, guh, he makes me so mad. Will he never learn!!! He is the one to blame for "Josie chippy"'s disappearence from now on. I was a bit bummed that these to practically took over the episode, but i suppose it was nice for the one who's name we shall not say fans to see her last episode was a good one with lots of her in it. Overall opinion - geez I wish Scotty would just disappear!!! Why can't he run off with "Josie chippy" so we don't have to put up with his pathetic drooling anymore!! You wait in a few weeks he'll be back to crying over Elisa!!!

Wow, interesting episode! Here's what I think:
1. I loved the case, it was so sad and heart tearing. And I didn't guess the whodonit untill the very end.
2. Man, it was weird to see Lilly with her hair down at work! The entire ep!! It suited her, though, but I somehow had more of the feeling of watching Katryn than Lilly..lol..
3. WHAT'S WRONG WITH SCOTTY?!?!!? Doesn't that guy EVER know when to shut it? Or when to say the right things?! Doesn't seem like it... On the other hand, it was kinda relieving to finally have someone actually TALKING about that stuff, not hinting like always. But I'm warning ya, if in the next ep she's gone cause of Scotty I'll have a major fit! That would be the most cliché thing they could ever write in...
4. Too little Lilly!
Oh well, only my opinions. Not the best ep ever, but a fairly good one, above the middle on my ranking!

The one thing that Cold Case always brings out ( I know you are all probably sick of my saying this) is the total atrocious behavior of seemingly nice people. After seeing this episode I do wonder if there have been any movement into better forms of help for those with mental illness. Mental illness is still a stigma and even today people that have family, friends, spouses still treat it as some kind of a disgusting "inconvenience". It is not recogized as a medical illness as it so rightly deserves to be just like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc. And because of it people are just downright mean and ignorant.
Taking Betty out into the snow and leaving her there by telling her it was warm out and just watching her die is awful. But so is dropping off someone to a mental institution and not taking an active part of helping to see your loved one gets the help they need just as you would if it was your family member sufferig with a dreaded disease.
I have no idea of the techinique they used to make her sit in ice! I think the doctors and psychiatrists that think this stuff up should be the guinea pigs that test this stuff out with them as the patients.

Of all the ways to write a character out of a show they have to do it in this way!! I'm disappointed!!
