Saw this episode on TNT and I thought it was really good. I loved Scotty in this and Danny did a great job.
I didn't think Joesph would last long anyway, why do shows have to give someone a love interest and then it's over before it even really started?
I loved how Scotty pressured Nick to take off his tie, but I wondered if it would have been funnier if he kept the tie on and Brent goes nuts.
Why was the headmaster arrested? Extortion?

Just re-watched this episode. Even though I’m only up to season three in my re-watch, I couldn’t resist because I love this episode so much. I skipped the personal Lilly stuff because it’s been ages since I’ve watched this season so I couldn’t remember what was going on, besides I wasn’t watching it for those bits. I’ll probably re-watch it again in full when I get up to it properly.
This is probably my favourite episode ever. The one that really got me into Cold Case, and is probably the reason I like Scotty so much. I started watching Cold Case from the beginning of season four, so this was one of the first episodes I saw, and everything about Scotty in this episode I liked, his interaction with Brent was just so perfect. I guess I kind of latched onto Scotty as a favourite because of this, same as the people on this board who watched from the beginning like Lilly the most.
Even though I’d seen a few episodes before this one, this was the one that really dragged me in and made me want to watch every episode. It’s just…Brent…and Scotty, Vera’s tie, Vera taking the credit and Scotty not correcting him and…everything.
Of course, I didn’t know about the whole Elisa thing the first time I watched this episode (nor the second time because I watched the repeat the next day I liked it so much). Now that I do, I can better understand Scotty’s motivation when watching the episode, if anything that just makes it sadder.
Brent is just like this kid who went to my school when I was about seven. He had autism, but I didn’t know what that meant at the time. He had no friends and kept to himself, but I remember one day when he was really upset, and I was trying to figure out why. Turned out his Tickle-Me-Elmo was in the wash and he normally took it everywhere with him (this was his version of Sammy), I gave him my own Elmo because I could see how important it was to him. Kind of irrelevant, sure, but it just reminds me of him.
So yeah, just in case you didn’t pick up on that: I love this episode.
