Does anyone know how many more episodes until the end of the season?? Ten? I only see about four listed, but it seems that there are about 24 eps per season??? Is that correct??

I'm going to go ahead and address the elephant in the room, so there won't be a lot of case discussion in this post.
I have read all of your posts and I see that there is a line drawn in the sand between those who liked the MM guy and Lilly and those who did not. I assumed going in to this ep that this would be the case. I'm sorry if I sound like I'm repeating a lot of what sonny and soccer have said, but I agree with them on many fronts. There is an area where I disagree and I'll get to that later. First, though, here are my thoughts on the whole thing:
It seemed to me that Lilly has been in contact with MM since she pulled his picture out of her drawer. When we first see them together, her reaction tells me that they have been "hooking up" for a little while. Lilly being Lilly, it has been kept on the DL until Scotty runs into him outside HQ. This of course throws Lil for a loop, so she tries to cover it up by acting like she's not interested in the guy. She has to keep the act up when he appears again to pick her up from work and Scotty is still around. I think the "Oh, crap" was more that he showed up with Scotty there and not that he showed up. I think Lil thought that Scotty would head off on his merry way when she told him she would handle it herself. Scotty was in a protective mood, so he stuck around. The romantic in me just melted when Lilly walked toward Ray and her entire demeanor changed just as she said hello. She hopped on the bike because she had planned for him to pick her up, not because she was riding off into the sunset with him like the preview somewhat led you to believe. When she found Ray at her work the next day, she flipped out again because she thought that he might have said something to Scotty, and we all know how she hates people at work knowing her business. When they went into the interrigation room, you could see that Lilly was dealing with an inner struggle - part of her wanted to just skip work and hang out with Ray, but the sensable part (the same part that prevented her from marrying him after she ran off with him the first time) prevented her from losing herself in this guy. She knew what was coming because she had been through it with Kite, and she tried to emotionally disconnect from the situation and sent Ray on his way. BTW, I too, loved the look she gave Scotty when she told him that she needed a minute. Classic! The ending scene was sort of an acceptance scene for Lilly (I'll explain what I mean a little later).
This is how I see the whole thing. Lilly has been burned in the past with men, but she's also tired of living her entire life for her career. A lot of that, I think, was brought on by George and also by her breakdown in the Bubley case. She gets back in touch with Ray, knowing full well that they can never be together in a long-term relationship sense, but she likes the guy and they have tremendous passion together. So, she decides to have a little fun and maybe spend some not-so-lonely nights with her former flame (cue the different side of Lilly that Kathryn spoke of). I don't think she's expecting anything more than those nights with him. Of course, they have this history together and Ray was maybe thinking they could rekindle what they used to have, but Lilly made it pretty clear in the interrogation room that it wouldn't be happening. I think at the same time, she also realized that a part of her wanted it to, though, and hence her somewhat hurt reaction. The closing scene showed a more reflective and accepting Lilly - one that was more onboard with what she intended for this "relationship" to be -- just sex. It sounds somewhat harsh, but it makes sense when you think about how they never showed the two of them kiss or embrace or anything that we saw with Kite (who I'll address in a minute). This relationship is not about any of that because Lilly has boiled it down to something very simple. Now, whether or not she sticks to this, I don't know. I'm not sure how she'll even deal with it. We'll have to see. Roween's story and Lilly's story drew a very nice parallel with Roween throwing everything into a relationship by agreeing to rob a bank and Lilly did the same by setting herself up for a relationship that's not really who she is.
Lilly's relationship with Kite was very different. First of all, he was the one pursuing her and not vice versa (like with Ray). Plus, Lil was in a different place in her life back then. She didn't want to get hurt, but she also didn't want to just "hook up" with someone for the sake of hooking up (and for the record, I don't think she does now either, it's the fact that she knew Ray and had a stormy past with him that drew her back to him - she had no history with Kite). Kite was always trying to get her to move outside her comfort zone, but with Ray, she has already been outside of it. In my opinion, the two relationships are like comparing apples to oranges. I think Lilly was acting perfectly within character with Ray, just a different side to her multi-faceted character.
And now to the part where I disagree. Despite my entire diatribe defending the episode's relationship (which I still stand by), I was disappointed. I was looking for a more meaningful relationship here, and all we got was a more superficial one. I was very bummed that they didn't even kiss! I'm hoping that more comes of it, but I think the final chapter was written when she let him her house in the final scene. I just have the bad feeling that we won't be seeing him again. I really want Lilly to find someone whom she can have a real, happy relationship with, but I don't think the show will go in that direction, at least not anytime soon.
boxman - that's an awesome observation about Roween closing the last page of the book. I really like that! Also, butterflies play an interesting part in season 1's "Fly Away" (a stand-out episode for the series).
I thought the case was decent. I too thought there was way too much time at the end when Julius told him to shoot Roween and he wouldn't. Other than that, the case was good.

good over view, i personally agree TVFan i want her to have a real happy relationship . I think she hooked up with ray is that she really was a little needy . As she has more life experiences she is learning her place with men in general. She is a little older then she was with kite and more wise. She is perfectly entitled to hook up once in a awhile but she doesn't seem like the gal to do like what her sister did meaning all the time .

Well I FINALLY got a chance to see this episode tonight, I've been so busy since Sunday ...I really liked this case, I got caught up in Roween, and I got that really sad feeling at the end of the episode, partly because of her, and also because off Phil, the murderer. It's something I think most people relate to on some level at one point, not being able to make your own decisions... I also liked that the flashbacks were in black and white. I'm guessing that they did that because they were only going back 5 years, and they wanted to make the characters appear older.. Either way, I appreciate black and white television and you just never see it anymore on TV, so this was kinda nice.. Just a theory here, but does anyone see some Kat/Jeffries romance happening? They had a scene together, which was a personal conversation, and maybe the writers are going somewhere with it... My opinion on MC Man, well, I'm not so sure...I cringed when Lily just jumped on the bike immediately, to me it was out of character, but after reading TvFan's comments I could see it...I loved the "crap" line, it was so cute, and the "interrogation" with Ray was really cute also...I admit I'm not sure where it's going, but if Lily gets pregnant with Ray, I might just cringe into non-existence... That's all from me, and just in case anyone's interested, the scenes of Lily and Ray in the bedroom will be played on TNT when they re-run this episode.

wow I'm a little late on this post, as I can see with the popularity of the posts. I LOVED THIS EPISODE!!!!!!!! No doubts about it.
First of all, the story line was good. I liked the way Julius "picked Roween up." It's always a good thing to add surprise into the mix. He was a cutie ( almost as cute as MC man but we'll get to that in a minute) and he was a smooth talker. I really actually feel that maybe he felt something different with Roween than he did with Darla, it seemd to me he would have to be with Roween more than he had been with Darla that whole amount of time before the robbery. Maybe I'm wrong, but he seemed to feel more sorrow for her, maybe it was because his brother shot her. He was a scum bag, and he did use her, and I feel bad for the character Roween for that. I really liked the scene where Lily was talking to the mother about Roween and her sister and when she said something like: "Two kinds of sisters, yours were the ones who got along" and Scotty started to listen and then it seemed like he rolled his eyes like "get over it already" or something.
OKAY MC MAN! He is hot. Like wow. LOL. yea anyways. I thought the whole situation was amusing. For the Scotty-Lilly forever fans I bet this was also an amusing few scenes. When Scotty first came and told Lilly about Ray the "some dude on a Harley" was amusing. Scotty did look kind of jealous after work when Ray came and picked her up, but not really like "I want Lilly" but more like"I wish I had a date." It was also amusing when Lilly came into work and saw Scotty and Ray talking. Scotty seemed to be pretty amused by Ray and him telling him he should get a bike. I think Scotty might have been a little cocky minded and being like "wow this guy has a bike but I'm more successful." type of thing. (Deep breath, almost done). It was so funny when Lil said she "needed a minute" it was so much like a woman bossy thing that Scotty didn't ask any questions. That was the funniest part for me. I hope Ray is more in the show now, and I'm happy that Lilly's getting laid lol.
Good ep, I especially cant wait for the next time with all the Scotty stuff! Yay Scotty!

I think scotty really wants lilly , but can't work up the guts because she might smack him . I'm glad this episode wasn't all lilly and ugly ray romance . I loved the case it was ver interesting better then debut . Hey Lilly get a better looking man , you chose an ugly one. I think she was nervous when ugly ray pulled up and while she getting on the bike scotty was watching her , she looked at him like "go away what are u my little brother" I think Scotty was making sure when talking to ray that he didn't hurt her , and was curious to know what she is like outside of work in general. I still think scotty has a chance with her due to the fact he realizes that christina was worthless and Lilly is his one and only love . ...

I think all the fans who say that Lilly and Scotty should(will) get together are wrong. She would never get involved with someone that she works with.

Everyone, I think I need to repeat that I don't think Lilly and MC Man have got it on yet. Like, why would he be in such a rush to the Philly PD HQ the next morning if they slept together?? Folks, that's a man in desperation. From the dialog in the interrogation room, it doesn't seem they even talked at all the evening before... (Why doesn't Lilly know till that morning that he runs the repairshop, or that he has another day in town?? Because they didn't talk the night before.) That DOESN'T MEAN that they spent the whole night making whoopie, cause if they did, no guy would waste his next morning popping up unexpectedly at her workplace to talk with her and pull the machismo act on her male co-workers! Some guys will just sleep til noon, the ones that visit her the next day would be there with a big bouquet of roses and be all kissy-kissy. My guess is that after Ray picks Lilly up after work, just like old times they took a long ride to the Jersey Shore, had a short stroll on a boardwalk, got a hotdog or slice of pizza, and headed back to Philly. No conversations, just an exciting ride. By the time they get back to Philly, its cold and past midnight, so Lilly invites Ray to sleep on the couch. Yeah, okay, I can hear the bubbles bursting everywhere in cyberspace, but you know what?? END OF STORY! ha ha ha...
I was wondering if the b/w flashback was in some way a tribute to Johnny Cash, "The Man In Black" I don't listen to Country music, so I'm not sure if Mr. Cash took that black motif beyond his clothing and to other areas. Does anyone here listen to Country music??? Did the scene of Roween on the fire escape breaking in her shoes remind anyone of any other movie??? I seem to recall seeing a scene almost exactly like that somewhere, even with a guy inviting her back in, but it could just simply be an active imagination on my part.... How about "Gone With the Wind" Again, this is a movie/story I'm unfamiliar with. Anyone know of parallels of tonight's episode with that story??? Any significance to Roween reading this book??
