That was an excellent episode. I enjoyed it more than I did the premiere. Once again, Veena Sud proves to be one of the best writers for this show.

I really liked this episode. It was a great "Josie chippy" eppy, we got to see her personal side a bit more. Seems like Valens is into her, but she wants nothing of it. She seemed very emotionally invested in this case. She seemed to really feel for Diedre. I think she related to her on the level that they both were taken advantage by powerful men. There were a lot of little lines and scenes I liked in this episode. I am looking forward to next week's Halloween episode. That's the best horror film ever!!!!!!!!!!! :smile74: ~Vicky~

Another excellent Veena episode, but I thought that this one was not as strong as her others. Maybe it was the recent-ness of the case - I don't know. It did tug at my heartstrings, though. Man, it was so sad watching the ending with Laurie trapped in the Frat house and the fire raging. All she could think about was her Dad. Then, we see her smile at Dirk as he spends time with her father. It was just so sad! I spent most of this episode in a state of sadness - sad that people would treat other people the way they treated Laurie and Deidre, sad that this girl lost her mother at 12, sad that her good friend turned on her (although he came around in the end), and sad that her father lost his wife and daughter and was all alone. Laurie was such a likable character. She didn't let other people's words and thoughts bring her down or break her spirit. My heart ached for her when the frat brothers tormented her. So glad that councelman was caught! Despite the year snafu (oops!), the episode was very well done. Why does it seem like Scotty gets the bulk on the case stuff?? Is it just me? Am I paranoid? Honestly, it's not "Josie chippy" that's taking away from Lilly, it's Scotty. There hasn't been any personal stuff so far this season, so this perception might change (and spoilers indicate it will), but it just seems like Scotty is the heavy on this show so far this season. I hope this changes. Speaking of Lilly, she seemed much more like herself this ep. She looked amazing, especially in that interrogation scene with Shirley (?). I can't believe Scotty tried to corner "Josie chippy" on her possible past sex scandel. Did he really think she was going to openly discuss it with him? I got the impression that she is innocent (her comment about powerful men). I think her Sgt. came on to her, she blew him off, and he fabricated the rest. He might have sexually harrassed her, but I don't know. Also, relatively speaking, "Josie chippy" has a pretty squeaky-clean past. It sounds like she comes from a good, solid family. She's only 28, and very young to make homicide, but I don't think she "slept her way to the top" as the scandel would indicate. I don't know, time will tell. Overall, another strong outing this week. I'm interested to see how next week's episode is done. I hope it isn't as campy as Creatures of the Night.

This episode had a very strong beginning but by the 38 minute mark lost it’s punch for me. These girls, Deidre and Laurie were still at that house and I felt the writing, and especially the acting lost it’s punch. By the end I wasn’t feeling anything towards Laurie stuck in that room. Where’s the fire department? When Laura took the picture of herself I laughed. I mean this was supposed to be serious but the scene didn’t come off well at all. I also felt the two women, Laura and Deidre, were unconvincing as two gullible young women going to the fraternity house. The hazing didn’t evoke the emotion to really feel the scene. {I haven’t watched this one again) It’s a shame because Veena has written some nice ones. I think the directing and acting wasn’t able to pull this one off.
I like the "Josie chippy"/Valens pairing. And I agree, TVFan, Scotty has taken Lilly’s lines but I noticed that a long long time ago (all of season two) . I have no idea what is seen from his character to do this. I like that we did get a little more info on "Josie chippy". But nothing much happening as far as Lilly. Seems like she opens and closes the cases. I like her pairing with Vera, Stillman and Jeffries the best.

All I can say is HELLO, where was our Lilly in that episode? If you blinked you would almost have missed her!! Lucky for us she looked so gorgeous and amazing and wore some really great clothes [loved the white short sleeve shirt with the grey waistcoat] that what we did see of her was great.
You are so right TVFan Scotty is the one taking over and I don't like it AT ALL!!! TVFan said: I can't believe Scotty tried to corner "Josie chippy" on her possible past sex scandel. Did he really think she was going to openly discuss it with him? I got the impression that she is innocent (her comment about powerful men). I think her Sgt. came on to her, she blew him off, and he fabricated the rest. He might have sexually harrassed her, but I don't know. Scotty really annoyed me in that scene where he was trying to quiz "Josie chippy". He mentioned that he'd made a mistake but seemed so smug about it as though it wasn't a big issue or anything. Good on "Josie chippy" for giving nothing to him though!!
the one who's name we shall not say fans must be delighted she had so much screen time in this episode. I personally would have prefered more Lilly, with less Scotty and "Josie chippy" but unfortunately Lilly seems to have been thinned out yet again this season!!! Apart from the fact that "Josie chippy" was in it alot more [probably a little too much for me at the expence of Lilly], her character is likeable and I think I will warm to her. She is very much about the job which is great, and you've just gotta love her car!!! What's that all about???
Overall i was a bit disappointed with this episode, there was as I've said before not enough of Lilly and far, far to much of Scotty. We didn't get to see any of Lilly and "Josie chippy" together, got no mention of the aftermath of The Woods or how Lilly is coping [she seemed completely back to normal this week after last], and there were also no other personal elements in the episode. I hope next week is better

I thought the episode was awesome. I totally love this show. Being a Scotty and Lilly fan I have to wonder why they are pairing "Josie chippy" up with Scotty all the time. I believe the characters of Scotty and Lilly work well together but maybe the writers are saving them to help eachother deal with the personal issues that will arise as the season progresses. I thought all the actors did a great job.

i thought that this ep was so sad, i can realte to the girl because i use to be a big as well and have seen first had how mean people can be,
im Glad Lilly didnt look so sad this ep, i thought that we got to see quite alot of her this episode she didnt seem so upset and i thought that she looked really good this episode, her look really nice aswell mot so scruffy, but them i like her hair the way it is, also im not likeing scotty his season he seems to be trying to get into "Josie chippy"s pants or something, he is becomming slezzy, he should od learnt from christina and not get involved again.
also i think that there is some secret with "Josie chippy" she seemed to symphyse with the girl that got raped, maybe that whats happed with her old boss she seems to dissmiss what happened with her boss when ever anybody ask's her,
really like her now to be honest i didnt really like her to start off with i was a bit defenise because im a Major Lilly fan but she is starting to grow on me now :-)
