Episode 1.6: Love Conquers Al

I'm hoping they rerun it soon TruBlu. I saw it, but I apparently missed a lot of stuff from it. The only thing I remember is the crime. I'll have to watch the rerun a lot more carefully.

It was truly funny looking back at this episode knowing what we know now. When Lilly referred to Kite as an "Ivy League jerk," I found myself yelling "you should have stuck with that idea." Oh well.

That scene where Lilly and Jeffries write the love letters was HYSTERICAL! I had no memory of that scene from the first time I saw it, but Lilly was soooo funny. I loved the folding that she was doing. It brought back some serious memories. I love when she said that Scotty had a "complicated social life" during this scene. She was too funny when she confronted Jane with the "letters," and she said that she "highlighted the good parts." She was great! foujylos.notlong.com [/IMG]

This was the first time that ive seen this episode, and i thought it was too funny. When she first meets Scotty, and tells him that she will do the talking, and then he cant seem to be quiet!
I also burst into a laughing fit when she called Kite an 'Ivy League Jerk' im with TVFan on this one, she might have been better off sticking with that idea! And then Scotty tells her that Kite is checking her out... :laugh:
And the folding. Im not even sure how to answer that. When she gave the letters to Jane after highlighting all those good parts, well, i lost it.
Also in the interogation, when the two of them are in together, im going with onebyone for this one : step away fromt he crazy people. Over all a funny episode, although i didnt really pay much attention to the atual case...

TruBlu - that folding scene was priceless! Definitely up there with "No Drugs Today" as one of the funniest scenes of the season for me. Lilly was sooo sassy in that scene. I love how she told Jeffries to put more loops in his writing. I was cracking up!

This was the first episode of Cold Case that I ever saw, and it got my hooked immediately.

I'm responding to the following statement you made about Jane in an earlier post.
***She was scary! And to think this has probably happened in real life.

This episode was, in fact, based on a real case from the mid 1990s. It is known as the Texas Cadet Murder. A young couple bound for two of the major military academies. The girl was set to go to the Naval Academy. The boy was accepted to either West Point or the Air Force Academy. Anyway, the story is similar. Guy sleeps with tramp, girlfriend finds out. Claims if he loves her he'll kill this homewrecker. They killed her the same way. I think they borrowed a car from a friend (like the gas station guy). The problem was the boy was about to crack when the relationship was about to end. The girl couldn't keep her mouth shut. The two were kicked out of both academies. They met, had sex one more time, and then turned themselves in. They were sentenced for a long time. They will be 58 when they are first eligible for parole. Unfortunately, a guy at the Naval Academy was told what happened by the girl. He was kicked out for not reporting it and is now selling pizza somewhere. Two girls, however, were smarted, and reported it immediately. Nothing happened to them because they did the right thing right away. Lesson learned. Don't cheat on your girlfriend. You'll never know what she'll force you to do to make it up to her.

OMG! I just realized that this was the one episode I never saw. Sorry, I know that was pretty randomn I was just really frustrated this summer because I couldn't remember which episode I'd missed and now I realize but it's too late. Oh well.... maybe someone recaped it.

TNT hasn't posted it yet but "The Runner" is next week and "Love Conquers Al" comes right after it. So I would say November 1st.

Yes, I have been hecking my TIVO today about this ep playing next Tuesday (11/1) on TNT. It's a no go, TNT is having an NBA double header that night, and there is no Cold Case, unfortunately. I am seeing nothing in my TIVO search list at the moment either on this upcoming ep. I have to admit, it's somewhat confusing. I just hope this is not a weekly thing with TNT and the NBA. I thought I remembered that they showed games like this weekly on Thursday nights. Oh well, maybe the ep this week will have information specifically on Cold Case's next ep on that network.

Excellent!!! An extra week to get a new TV that can connect to DVR. Now I can watch these eps at an earlier time. Staying up past 11 on a weeknight is not helping me. So now I have to find a TV I like. And Byrdman, I'll be keeping an eye on this episode to see if it is uncut as well. The Runner was uncut to the best of my knowledge. But we have someone who comes to the boards who is a fan of this episode. I'm going to PM her to see if she can help us on this episode. She has the original CBS version on tape.
