@ Boxman
It's funny how you mention all this symbolism in the shows, and yet for some reason I've never payed attention to it. I say this is odd, because I'm a huge fan of the Silent Hill games: A game that requires you to actually look at certain things in order to get the story. With Cold Case, however I don't believe that I have to do some indepth analyse on horses in order to get the underlining theme of each of the episodes.
But, now that you mention it, I may now be looking at certain things. Ha ha ha.
@ Naj
There's no doubt that those two guys had a choice in the matter. I suppose this goes back to Boxman's idea up above. The two boys were huge fans of Rampage, but this episode also had quite a few religious undertones. It also makes me wonder if this game had any sort of story to it, but we'll never know.
But I would be a little freaked out if the two shooters had decided to go by differant names; such as Samael, Metatron, Azazael, and or Azrael.

The Reverend Bzarre says: Yea, that would have been interesting. But maybe more would have needed to be addressed had they gone that route. Maybe another case? Well, I watched the eppy yesterday and here's my 2 cents: The case was pretty strong, full of action, full of Lilly. Loved it! Those 2 suicide boys were sooo realistic... it's sad to think there's a lot of kids like them. Oh, and the actress who played Tina did a wonderful job! Lilly and Joseph scene was totally off character for Lilly. I don't think she's in love (I'd say she's having some fun with him and that's all). And she seemed to be happy and comfortable with him. As DF and Sukker said, I didn't buy it either. Everything was too perfect. That definitely doesn't happen to Lilly Rush. The shippers are gonna hate me for that, but Lilly being tormented, unhappy, lonely and miserable is half of the fun in CC IMO. I don't wanna see that changed.

Well, Ju, if it's any consolation? I didn't want it to look sappy. I'm just happy that Lilly has a story and I'm not expecting it to last. I have no idea what they plan for Lilly this season but then I thought Kite was suppose to be a real part of Lilly's life post season 1. So...I don't know what they will do but it will be interesting to follow. At least Lilly is having some fun. ;D

Hey, LII, I know how you feel about the whole issue, and you're very entitled to. But so are the ones who think the oposite things, and you gotta let 'em, don't you think? Anyway Naj, neat way of viewing it If there's one thing we've learned about this show, it's gotta be that we never know where they'll take it next.

I understand Sukkerspin and respect other people's feelings, I guess I'm just a hopeless romantic. Everyone is entitled to have their own feelings ..

There are definitely two viewpoints to this episode. As a newer viewer, I have spent most of the summer trying to catch up on Seasons 1 and 3 (and now am getting to start on Season 2 - thank you TNT!). I was not here for last season's discussions, but in sort of having had a crash course on CC these last several months, so many eps are very fresh in my mind. Perhaps that is why, at least for me, I find it easier to see why Lilly is where she is at this point in the series - watching the the Kite debacle side-by-side with her confession of wanting to change in "Beautiful Little Fool". I think it would be more odd if after having made that confession - of not wanting to remain tormented, lonely and alone forever, and/or end up like mom with a revolving door of not-so-good men in her life - that we got no follow-through on her actually doing anything about it. I think we'd be saying, "Remember when Lilly made that call about change and stuff? What happened to that storyline?" LOL! I don't know. As just about everyone has said, no one really knows as yet what Joseph is or isn't to Lilly; but the fact that, after everything she has been through, and what she confessed she wanted, she's at least opening herself up to the possibility of something - or, as Kathryn said, "opening her heart" - is, I think, good follow-through if nothing else. But again, just my thoughts. I have learned quickly that CC always keeps us guessing - no matter what viewpoint we may have.

I'm honor bound to admit we don't really know anything about Lilly's "real" character, and I probably find her off character because I don't WANT to see her as they're making us see her. I liked the Lilly I thought she was best. This Lilly doesn't interest me much, she's yet another man-hunting leading girl. I can see why this course of actions would make sense, stemming from Beautiful Little Fool. The fact is, I thought THAT was off character too. For me. Guess Lilly's been deviating from my invented pattern for a while now, that's why I've realized I just hafta let her go. She's just never gonna be the kind of character I want her to be. Because she never was. I'd misinterpreted her. Oh well. My loss.

IMHO, not necessarily. It would just add more to the religious undertones, except this time it would give the two shooters the element of being "Reapers of Revenge" or "Angels of Vegeance."

^^ This episode had alot of religious undertones to it. A few pages back I made the theory that the two shooters became Vengeful Gods. (I believe that if Tina had not of offered to film them, they wouldn't have started shooting people.) Above I was saying that it would have been really weird if instead of being called "The Apocalypse" and (what was the other guys screen name?) they were called Metatron and Samael. These two names belong to two angels, who are also known as Angels of Vegeance. My main point was that if this were the case then that would add a whole new layer to religious undertones of this episode. Of course, I did get a little carried away (old habits die hard.) with this little speculation of mine.

The ending song had a religious undertones to it. Getting back to Scotty, when Stillman called him into his office, Lilly just smiled at him. IS she suspecting anything as well, after he didn't explain why his hands was broken?

This Lilly doesn't interest me much, she's yet another man-hunting leading girl. Man-hunting?! Barely. I don't see that at all. She's having a boyfriend, which she hasn't had in a long time. They showed us, what, 2 minutes of them together. I doubt it is all that perfect. I totally respect your opinion, so don't take this personal . I am sorry you lost interest in Lilly for good.

I agree tiger_lilly, even Lilly needs someone to love . I understand why Disasterfreak feels that way. Stillman at the end realized that Lilly was the only one that Tina could talk to depsite what happened last season. He still cares for her a lot in the same way, maybe he's forgiven her

OK I know I am a little late, but I have been really busy Anyways: I LOVED the premiere! My fave part was OF COURSE, Lilly and Joseph! She is totally into him and I can't wait to see what else is gonna happen between them...nothing bad hopefully! I wonder how Ray is gonna pan out too... It was really mean when Stillman wouldnt tell Lilly 'hey', he sure DOES know how to hold a grudge! (but so does Lilly!) The episode plot was really great and I loved the ending song and how the boxes were in the shape of a cross! So awesome! The guy who played Cameron was pretty cute too! ;D...terrible thing they did though! ;D**ALL IN ALL, I TOTALLY LOVED THE SEASON 4 PREMIERE!** ;D
