Wow, what a hour's worth of great TV. First did anyone notice during the opening scene that the apartment where the tupperware meeting, looked a lot like Lilly's apartment?? Second Vera and the tupperware, that pretty much was funny all the way around. I did love the scene between Saccardo and Lilly, what can I say I really like this guy a lot. The bowling scene well we haven't really seen Lilly out too much, except for drinks and Jones's tavern, she seemed pretty happy for once. I didn't understand what was happened with Saccardo, my cable company was messing up pretty badly. Otherwise this episode really moved me, how things were back then. How today seeing that one of our presidentental canidates is black; shows just how far we as a society had come. What Mirium was doing was compelling, but the guys surrounded her reminded me of " The Letter' but under different circumstances. Though she was a head of the times, people back then weren't. I absolutely loved Tracie Thom's voice at the end, she really does have a great singing voice. Major Kudos to John Finn for an awesome job he did directing this episode.

Oh thank goodness it just wasn't my cable company. I'm so mad at them right now!
But yup I loved the Lilly and Eddie scenes. She seemed so happy and was having a lot of fun. I can't believe this was Bobby's last ep. I so hope he returns.
This ep was very sad. I can't imagine living like that.
And wow I didn't realize that was Tracie singing(damn cable!) She's awesome!
Again any and all clips will be amazing esp of Lilly and Eddie:)

That was an amazing episode! Definately one of the best i've seen. the last few episodes have been a great start of the new season. I love that the characters all seem so much happier. they're kidding around with each other again; unlike some of the season 5 episodes. i also loved the parts with Lilly and Edie Saccardo! It's great she's finaly going out somewhere. She seems so much happier then her usual self. And Vera and the tupperware....that was priceless <3 Sam

Simple sentence The best this season thus far. I loved the historic references of the civil movement, Goodman/Chaney's murder, and mostly about the Freedom Schools. It was chilling how apathetic people were about segregation and how "normal" it was to be so casually racist. It's a reflection on how people are now. Maybe not racist..just incredibly ethnocentric today. The storyline, the feel, the plot..all were told very well. The end got me as well when the other Wednesday Women were looking for help in Philly when they returned with Miriam's body Their own northern home state and how it wasn't that different than if u were below the mason dixon line.
North..South..no real difference other than politically.
Best rating for me.
This might be the one eppy Boxman can't give us much of a Philly reference hehe

Anyone notice how Lilly wasn't backing out or putting up those walls of hers when Saccardo had asked her out on a real date?
I loved the scene when Saccardo handed her that drink, that look on Scotty's face was priceless; especially with the spoon comment. Funny that Lilly was showing the bar trick to her squad at the end, with the same exact fact that Saccardo had made.
At least the writers had left the possiblity of him returning, without giving Lilly another heartbreak. Nice touch instead of making her sad again.

I loved how they kept on flashing back to Lilly's interrogation while the other guy was confessing. Classic Lilly, for yelling at Violet reminded me of her interrogation of Mauve Bubley back in S3

This might be the one eppy Boxman can't give us much of a Philly reference hehe Actually, I can! Here's a link to Lincoln Drive and Mt. Airy, where the victim was found and the neighborhood she lived in. I thought that was very clever: -- Lincoln Drive, named after president Lincoln, who through his Emancipation Proclamation in 1862 & 1863 (about a hundred year before the murder), declared slaves in the southern Confederate States free from slavery. Lincoln Drive is also considered one of the most dangerous roads in Philly. Lots of people speed on it, even though the speed limit on much of it is a ridiculously low 25 MPH... -- " [Mt. Airy] is recognized by many civil rights groups as one of the first successfully integrated neighborhoods in America. Mount Airy continues to be the most well-blended neighborhood in Philadelphia, and was recently cited in Oprah Winfrey's O magazine for its racial diversity and neighborhood appeal. The community has also been recognized by US News & World Report for racial harmony and balance." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Airy,_Philadelphia,_Pennsylvania#Racial_integration Excellent Philly research by the writer!

I loved this episode better than the past two episodes actually. I wasn't so much sad about this episode, but quite angry. Especially at the end when the three women go into the police station and get treated like crap.
But, is it bad that for the second time this season I was able to pinpoint the killer based solely on their expression and body language?

This is one I think I'm going to have to watch several times to fully appreciate. I missed the very beginning, so I didn't get as attached to the victim as I usually do, but my goodness, she was brave. I actually didn't really get into it until the last 20 minutes or so, but those were powerful enough that I forgot that I wasn't into it at the beginning. The swamp scene where they found her body and the scene at the police station were absolutely heartbreaking, as was the cowardice of the doer, who murdered the victim not because he disagreed with her, but because she made him look bad in front of his friends. Gah.
Vera and the Tupperware? Win and awesome. Recycled "Vera's closed-minded about something and ends up embracing it" plotline? Perhaps. But funny as heck.
The Kat/Veronica moment at the end, as well as Tracie's singing, absolutely MADE this episode for me.

This was a home run! Congrats to director John Finn & the crew. It had a very moving story about a charged issue, without being preachy about it. If anything it was very edgy in the things that they showed. Technical stuff: I like that they've moved away from the "gimmicks" of the past seasons; in the past they've put too much emphasis on the music, now it's relegated to being in the background (which is less distracting.) I like that they didn't feel the need to put "special film effects" on the flashback footage either. The preview for this episode had a colorized look to it (where it was shot black-and-white and then only certain things like a woman's dress were colorized.) I'm glad they didn't do this for the eppy! I liked the hand-held closeups between Lilly & Stillman and Lilly & Eddie near the beginning. It gave a very intimate feel to the scene and a certain "warmth" that I liked. In the past they would cut to a close-up for emphasis-only (which got tiring -- the old "Lilly-looks-disturbed-whenever-her-mother-is-referenced" shot.) In contrast, they were used very well in this episode. The editing is more "adventuresome" too. I liked the intercutting of the two "Interrogations of "Old Violet" in Philly & "Old Belinda" in Mississippi. Too many good things about this episode to list .. the pairing of Jeffries & Miller worked very well; the scene of Miller & Veronica at the end; Vera organizing the fridge; the beautiful actress who played young Belinda ; the trademark KM laugh when she hits the strike at the bowling alley CBS should promote this season as being "new & improved" because it looks like this one is going to be great!
