Maybe Kathryn isn't playing a lead role so it would be balanced between CC and the movie?

This is great for her! Thanks LII. It seems pretty impossible, but Kristen Bell shot several films while she was filming Veronica Mars and she played the title character! One of those films was shot out of state (AZ, I think), so she would fly there for the weekend, shoot some scenes, and fly back to LA for a 6am call time on the set Monday morning. It had to be exhausting, but for actors like her and Kathryn, who LOVE the craft and not the fame, it's worth it.

Am definitely thinking KM's weekends will be fairly busy in the next month or so. No more catching up on sleep. As an FYI, I discovered that the IMDb listing for this film is Assassination of a High School President (seems as though The Sophomore is the working title).

In the film, which is set at a high school with Willis as the principal, Morris will play Nurse Platt, a vegan/hippie stoner high school nurse. She will shoot the film next month around her "Cold Cast" schedule.blurb

Found this little blurb with Kathryn discussing her character from National Ledger: THE BIG SCREEN SCENE: "Cold Case" star Kathryn Morris gets away -- far away -- from her Det. Lily Rush character in the forthcoming "Assassination of a High School President" comedy with Bruce Willis and Mischa Barton. "I play a school nurse who is a very ethereal creature," Morris tells us. "She's slightly inappropriate. She seems to have a special place in her heart for the teenage boys in the high school. It was great to play something so different." Morris says that the "President" assignment landed in her lap after "the director spotted me on 'Cold Case.' He wanted me to do a comedy, and we were able to work out the schedule." The Yari Group movie is due in theaters next summer.I'm excited to see her in such a different role!

Oh yay! Thanks for that article TVFan! I am TOTALLY all for seeing Kathryn happy @ playing something else. Esp. after she had already said she would like to do something with comedy in that interview vid @ cbs.com from a while back.
As for pics, LII, I have only seen I think 3 or maybe 4 from the movie @ IMDB, but they don't have Kathryn.....yet! ;D

Found this on Comingsoon.net Sadly they didn't mention KM, I'm now thinking she really has a very small role in this one. Assassination of a High School President (Yari Film Group - August) Directed by Brett Simon; Written by Timothy Calpin and Kevin Jakubowski Starring Reece Thompson, Mischa Barton, Bruce Willis, Melonie Diaz, Josh Pais, Michael Rapaport
Anyone who thinks they've seen the death of the high school comedy because there's nowhere left to go with the overused genre might appreciate that Brett Simon's clever high school noir debut is more "Heathers" than John Hughes, as it takes a funnier and more biting look at high school than any we've seen in some time without ever going so far as to offend its subjects.
We meet Reese ("Rocket Science") Thompson's Bobby Funke (pronounced "funk" though rarely by anyone in the movie), a hard-nosed high school reporter wannabe, as he introduces the cast of high school archetypes using a potboiler inspired voice-over that quickly sets up the film's premise. Assigned to interview the school president Paul Moore, Bobby is in the right place at the right time to break the story when Moore is caught stealing the school's completed SAT tests. Bobby is convinced that Paul was framed, so he continues his investigation, trying to get information about Paul from those who knew him, and soon finds himself batting out of his league as he gets closer to Paul's ex-girlfriend Vanessa, the school's popular hottie played by Mischa Barton.
Much of the film's humor comes from the way that the filmmakers have taken familiar elements from classic crime noir and found corresponding analogies within the world of high school students—most of the young women are seductive femme fatales while the detention hall is more like a prison. While Rian Johnson used a similar model for his debut "Brick," this is a very different approach that takes a lighter approach to high school that doesn't involve any deaths, regardless of the misleading title. There are plenty of laughs in the hardboiled narrative, but it also blends more of the typical sexual jokes that appear in broader high school far though never going quite so far as "Superbad" for its laughs, instead making the humor more about the archetypical characters and their behavior.
Brett Simon is an incredibly skilled filmmaker in the way he has taken this sharp, smart script, cast it with an ensemble of incredibly talented young actors, then combined it with classic film imagery and an uber-cool soundtrack of well-selected current and vintage tunes to create a movie that's constantly entertaining despite treading familiar ground.
Simon's best move may have been casting Reese Thompson in the lead, as the young Canadian actor is well on his way to becoming this generation's John Cusack, an unlikely but generally likeable leading man who can pull off nerdy cool right up there with the likes of Michael Cera. After the strong performance he gave in "Rocket Science," "Assassination" continues to lay the groundwork for what should be a strong career of memorable characters. After this movie, he should also be the envy of 90% of the male population due to his make-out scenes with Barton. Melonie Diaz continues to be everywhere at Sundance, here playing the editor in chief of the school paper and Bobby's original object of desire before hooking up with Vanessa. As is often the case, Josh Pais steals every scene he appears in as a flamboyant Spanish teacher, while Bruce Willis is also in fine comedic form as the school's military-minded principal. The great thing is that experienced adult actors never hog the glory from the kids.
The film's biggest detriment is that there are way too many characters, creating a plot that's hard to follow even when Bobby explains how all the characters are connected in the film's climax. For the most part, the gags and double entendres come at you so fast that not all of them deliver the intended payoff either.
Still, "Assassination of a High School President" is a welcome addition to the genre and with a better (i.e. shorter) title, it could find a large audience of college and older moviegoers looking for something smarter than the normal high school comedies fare that Hollywood has to offer.

Thanks LII. It sounds like this is going to be another quality film for Kathryn. Too bad her part isn't that large (at least as far as we can tell). I'd love to see her do more of these smaller, independent films. The roles are soooo much better (especially for women) and the story is the focus over the flashy special effects. They're more like reading a work of literature versus watching the same recycled blockbuster formula. Plus, knowing how Kathryn is so devoted to the craft of acting and the collaboration that goes into a project, these sorts of films feel like a better fit for her. She really shone in Resurrecting the Champ (her best work to date, IMO).

The Hollywood Reporter has this so-so review. It does mention Kathryn favorably here: In addition to Thompson and Barton, the other young actors also are very skillful. Willis seems to be having fun with his role, and Kathryn Morris is entertaining as the addled school nurse. On the other hand, Michael Rapaport has little to do as the basketball coach; his part might have been left on the cutting-room floor

Found another Kathryn mention. This one is from UGO.com: The script in Assassination is nothing short of brilliant, a hilarious noir-comedy mixture in which each character is more colorful than the last. Take Mr. Kirkpatrick (Bruce Willis), a no-nonsense, emotionally scarred Iraq war veteran with a strong hatred for troublemakers and gum chewing. Or the spaced-out school nurse (Kathryn Morris), who isn't really sure of where she is let alone what's ailing the students who come to see her.
