Holy spectacular shipper video, Batman!...er...lsr!
Seriously great job. I LOVE it. You should definitely post it in YouTube. And I had never listened to the lyrics of the song before....*thud.* They seem to be brilliant at coming up with songs whose lyrics fit everything that goes on in the episode absolutely perfectly. And your clips fit them so well, too! As Collider would say, OMGSQUEE!!!

I am loving their song choice for that episode more and more. *hee* "OMGSQUEE", I like that! I don't know if she'd be saying it about this, though. lol. LII2 - Nice job!!! If only they left these darn scenes IN!

I know it well Yankee - If you're still around somewhere; I know we've already talked about "Joseph" and I hate to beat a dead horse here but I've been meaning to ask you about the ending... ahem.... Soooo.... just whom do you suppose our Scotty is waiting for??? hmmmmm lol Even Stillman knows!

I simply cannot wait to hear the load of doggie poopie you come up with! ;D lol ;D Clearly, he's wondering where she is. You say OMGLUV!! I say, he's worried about his friend. He's worried about her personally, and he's worried that she may have put her job in jeopardy. You know I don't deny that he cares about her. I've even conceded that he might have feelings for her (though I really don't think he did at that time). I just don't think he should act on them, nor do I believe she feels the same way. SO. You can have that tiny little bit of the montage, if you want it. I think most of the stuff you see as exceptionally shippy, I see as innocent and friendly. But I actually do enjoy those moments, because I like when they acknowledge their friendship, even in the smallest of ways. It's rare, and it's cool. We're really not 100% opposed on this. In fact, your video only made me break out in hives because of the song and the implication therein. The clips were actually quite cute.

Aw geez, just when I'm about ready to fight with ya, you have to go and agree with me lol. Well... almost. Seriously, as you said, I don't think we differ all that much about many of the scenes we're shown but here's the thing; what I absolutely cannot seem to grasp in ALL of non-shipperdom (this goes for more than just CC too) is where you think the story is headed (?) All kidding aside, what do you see happening at the peak of Lilly and Scotty's relationship? I think we will be able to agree that Lilly is going to have to let Scotty in at some point. Shipper or no, all these scenes (ie her in therapy but refusing to talk), shifty-eyed looks, comments about her, and moments between her and Scotty (whether you interpret it as romantic or not) are leading to her inevitable 'breakdown' or at least a scene (or two) showing her dealing with her issues, right? So what I don't understand about the non-shipper mind is how you see that scene playing out? I mean, what, they talk and then reach a "new level" of friendship or something? What do you see happening? I'm not trying to be flip here, I'm seriously curious. In my mind, there has to be a culmination of everything we're piecing together. And more friendship just won't cut it. From where I am, which granted isn't the most stable of ground , I can't see how it couldn't at the very least touch on something more for them. Well I'll give you that her feelings are buried beneath mountains of doggie poopie and despite the few tiny moments we've seen from her, she remains oblivious on the surface to anything Scotty might feel for her. HOWEVER (you knew this was coming ), I don't think it's fair to say just yet that she doesn't feel the same way. She simply has to find a very strong back hoe to get to the bottom of the mountain thereby allowing her to explore what's there - something which she is much too afraid to do at present out of fear of what she will find (someone who understands her, can accept her for who she is; try to show her that she doesn't have to go everything alone; and not abandon her when she needs them the most). She's terrified that if she lets Scotty in, she will only end up getting hurt again. But I think if she only were to give him a chance [to love her], he would do everything in his power to protect her from just that. Oh I'm takin it! One other thing I forgot to mention; as the song "Collide" plays wistfully over the end sequence, the lyric that states "I find I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind" just HAPPENS to play over Scotty's face looking at his watch, wondering where Lilly is. ............... just sayin is all. ;D Well I'm touched that you even bothered to watch it in the first place and I'm glad you didn't feel the need to visit the bathroom during. The hives will subside ...well until my next video that is. And holy crap, did you use the word "cute" in relation to L&S? My work here is done. ;D

It be funny if their inner most feelings about each other came out during a fight. I could see it be a romantic scene where Scotty gentle cups her face before their kiss slowly. That would be nice.

Actually, yeah... that's exactly it. A "new level of friendship." Because that's what the friendship is missing - pure honesty. I'd actually find it incredibly sad if a "bonding session," or some sort of emotional breakthrough is written simply as a precursor to some sort of hookup/romance. Why can't two good friends *just* listen, care, and support each other? I think it would totally cheapen any kind of raw, honest conversation if that then became the catalyst for a hookup (whether casual or more, doesn't matter). Also, I've discussed this a couple times on the ep threads, but I just don't have very much hope anymore for ANY kind of Lilly "breakthrough" with or without Scotty. The writers seem content to just have her be "the chick with issues" and don't seem to care one iota about having her resolve them. So any wish either of us have for a Lil/Scotty "heart to heart" (though we clearly both want that for different reasons) will probably never come to fruition on the show. Oh, and CLEARLY, the "Collide" lyrics are supposed to be alluding to the whole Joseph thing. Maybe the editors just wanted to tease you shipper freaks by having that one line correspond with the shot of Angsty!Scotty! Whatevs.

Why can't two good friends *just* listen, care, and support each other? I think it would totally cheapen any kind of raw, honest conversation if that then became the catalyst for a hookup (whether casual or more, doesn't matter). But how is love cheap? He loves her, yankee. It's the complete opposite of cheap, imo. I could see where you're coming from if it were just a "hookup" we were talking about where Scotty just wants to sleep with her casually for a one night stand type thing but it's so clear that it WOULDN'T be that for him. Cellogal's fanfic expresses it so much better than I ever could bring words to but he wants to be there for her, love her and help her to heal her wounds not simply add to them by sleeping with her and walking out. That's not who Scotty is. And definitely not who he would be with Lilly. The honest conversation would have to include what he feels, otherwise you can remove the 'honest' part. I don't think that all male/female relationships HAVE to turn romantic but this one (as with a lot of fiction actually) depicts one of the sweetest stories of discovering that someone you thought of as just a friend is actually the one person who could change your life. I know, I know you're probably rolling those anti-shipper eyes right about now but if only Lilly would let him, I think she could actually find a morsel of happiness amidst all the things that have tied her into ball of misery. Well that, to me, would be the ultimate cop-out. I would be cruelly disappointed if there was no progression for Lilly whatsoever. They have to offer some kind of hope for her otherwise what are we watching for? I like the individual case-stories and issues they cover but what makes Cold Case special to me are these unique characters and the struggles for them that we catch glimpses of now and again. There are a billion and a half cop-dramas with a billion and a half stories about different murders, that part is old news, the inclusion of Lilly, Scotty, Vera, Kat etc and how they deal with what they are faced with is where the interesting part of the show begins. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not some kind of Drama Queen craving only for the personal aspects of the characters to come into play. In fact, I can't stand soap opera type drama at all but the episodes that carry those personal moments on CC, tend to be my favourites and I find myself looking forward to what we rarely get to see. Well that's exactly what they were doing (just wanted to hear you say it ) but my question to you is WHY would they include that? If they weren't meaning for anything to be taken from that particular scene (or even episode!) with Scotty, why have it there at all? They are teasing us on purpose. And must I bring up the clearing of the throat again? lol
