Lilly - IMO the blond-er hair made her look paler, but in some scenes she looked little blue, that is worrying, maybe thats another reason "Josie chippy" is there- someone she can turn to, i just hope "Josie chippy" would react in a way that wont leave our screens shattered and us having temper tantrums.... ok maybe i would be the only one having the tantrum  .... in Sherry Darlin, when shes talking to James on the phone Lilly-"...i know what youre doing- i do that sometimes, ill be in a dark mood so i turn to people i dont really know, seems safer that way..." or something along those lines  , just something to speculate |

I always thought she was bluffing when she said that... well, not bluffing exactly, but lying to get what she wanted out of him, a false sense of security and comfort, of being "understood". Sometimes I wonder if it wasn't her subconscious speaking though... Good memory there, Shorty.

Now, I was watching The Promise again earlier tonight and noticed that in some of Lilly's scenes she seemed to get distracted or kinda like her mind drifted off. In particular was the scene in the breakroom when she's wearing the cute white shirt and grey waistcoat. When Jeffries is talking about Manny [or whatever his name is???] being on probation for aggrivated assult they show a close up of Lilly who looks down and away as though she has something on her mind. I noticed it in other scenes too which leads me to believe that there is a subtle hint of how her troubles are affecting her still.

Awww. Poor Lilly (sorry, my heart breaks at her suffering--I'm such a wimp). I didn't notice those looks, but that's just because my ep ran in slow motion, so EVERYTHING looks a bit off. I'll probably notice more when it airs on TV. Thanks for pointing it out, Sonny! She LOOKED more like her old self again in this episode, but she isn't yet, not completely. I can't put my finger on what's wrong--maybe she feels a bit aloof (lack of scenes could be the reason for that  ). It's probably what you said. |

Cold Case isn't back in NZ till next year but I've got a couple of comments. Isn't Lilly ALWAYS pale?! She's like the whitest person I've ever seen.
How long is it supposed to have been since the events in The Woods??

Yes she does have very fair skin. I think it's beautiful and that she does very well to have such a great complexion with it cos with skin that fair every little blemish shows!!

Yep, I know the picture you mean!!! All the laughter lines round her eyes right!!! Well it goes to show that although she's beautiful she does have bad skin days like the rest of us!! In the majority of other pics and stuff though her skin does look great.

With last night's anger in Saving Patrick Bubley I'm not sure if she is coming unhinged or what that was all about. It was a different anger than the Scotty/Chris relationship. Or was she just upset about a case she originally worked on and what had transpired during those four-six years?

More pale, blonder hair, hair down ... I don't think the writers are implying that she's ill, or they would have already alluded to that, in my opinion.  I do think that Lilly was upset in last night's ep over what had transpired in this case -- the fact that she wasn't able to solve the first murder, that the mother had lost 3 additional sons, mom's drug use, etc. Lilly had a lot of pinned up anger and emotion. |

I agree V. I think she blamed herself for what happened to the other three boys, their mother, and Patrick. Plus, she was really upset about the whole NHI concept, and the fact that she was seeing herself heading down that path. She didn't want to lose her compassion to indifference. She was a basketcase last night!

After seeing last nights ep I think Lilly is a bit wobbly this season. Shes kind of questioning her her whole attitude to being a cop. George probably made her think she got way to involved having the pics by her bed and all but last night she knew she couldn't be any other way. She was practically devestated that for one moment she thought that she actually didn't care.
I'm really enjoying watching her again this season and her character is evolving so much. I can't wait to see what the writers have got in store. Will her emotions even out or is she gonna continue to be unpredictable and loose the plot?? Whatever happens i don't think she's gonna open up to anyone. After Maeve walked out of the interrogation room she totally could not look at Scotty. And Jeffries and Scotty were dumbstruck after her outbursts!!
kathryn really is doing a fantastic job and in this episode she got the screen time and quality writing that she and her character deserve. For that performance I say bring on the Emmy!!!
