I wandered over to Kenny's site for the first time (thanks to your note witchykitty), and I think it's really quite cool how much he participates in his own message board. He seems like a very genuinely nice guy, and I enjoy reading his CC experiences in his own words. Seems he really loves working on the show, and would really like to continue his stint as Joseph. Love how he's encouraging fans to write CC so that they keep him around. That is so ... well, cute! He gives extra kudos to having "fun" working with Kathryn. I did note that he specifies he is in episodes 1, 2, 3 and 5 ... so whatever goes on with the return of Ray in Episode 3, Joseph seems to survive to make a return in Episode 5.  I actually was inspired by Kenny's post(s), so I dropped a couple of letters off to CC today to say how much I've enjoyed the storyline and hope they decide to continue to keep it beyond just a handful of early eps. EDITED 8/23: to reflect recent re-numbering/re-ordering of Season 4 episodes. EDITED 9/8: re-edited again to correct ordering of Joseph-featured episodes. |

Wow...that's a lot of episodes. Just as many as Joseph? Or even more? I must say I'm a bit sceptical about all this relationship-drama-rama. But I'll wait and see what happens  Thanks for the info TVFan . Am not reading the spoliers for the 4400 season finale though |

Six episodes for Ray ...? That's more than Joseph at this point. Have to say I'm kind of disappointed with this news and/or creative decision, and as I mentioned in the Sandhogs thread, I am hoping this whole thing (whether it be Joseph or Ray) a) doesn't overshadow the reason we all watch the show; b) doesn't turn into a romance cliche. I do like the personal stuff, but ... ... I just have a problem with the Ray character and/or cannot find any redeeming value in why he needs to be back in Lilly's life. Was he really that popular last season? As a newer viewer, I came in late to Season 3, so ... based on what I read both here and elsewhere, I thought his reception was more so-so and/or lukewarm. Is that incorrect, or ...? Also, I am having a hard time understanding how if Lilly wants to "change" and not end up with less than average men like mom ("Beautiful Little Fool"), she's going to still be dwelling in her past with this guy who, basically, seems to think she'll just drop everything and ride off into the sunset with him whenever he rides into town. It just seems contradictory to me based on how they set up this whole Lilly-needs-a-change-go-for-something-new-and-better that rippled through the close of S3. But, that's JMHO as a newer viewer. If the writers prove me wrong, excellent. I'll eat all my words. But at this point, kinda bummed ...  ... It won't, however, keep me from watching the show. (Thanks as always for the info, TVFan ) |

I'm hoping this show doesn't go downhill with all this romance going on, please let it keep the storyline more focused on the cases not romance.. I'm just scared that this might happen..
Why bring back Ray , Joseph is a much better person for her. He's someone new and different.

I think I'm more surprised than anything else. I thought he was going to be a one episode thing. I'm not sure what all of this means, but it is interesting. As far as I can tell, LillyKat, the Ray character was not popular (Brennan Elliot was a different story  ). In fact, the drunk dial scene in Beautiful Little Fool was changed from Ray to Kite at the last minute because of how unpopular the character was with the audience. That "popular demaind" part of the above article confused me, but the reporter may have just written it that way without checking her facts. Or maybe we don't represent the rest of the audience? I don't have a problem with them bringing Ray back as long as they prove to us why Lilly likes him so much. We get that he's attractive (gorgeous, really), but beyond that, we got nothing. As I've said in other threads, the reason why I LOVE Brennan's character on The 4400 is that in addition to his good looks, he's a great guy and someone that you want with Diana. They have great chemistry together, which as we all know from Lil and Kite, really adds to it. From the little bit that we saw of Ray and Lil, there didn't seem to be much more there beyond lust. So, if the CC writers prove to me why he should be with Lil, then I'm good with him. Of course, he may not end up with her anyway, he might just come in to stir things up. We'll have to see. |

TVFan- So would this break the show because of the romance or not? Maybe if they should them together like they did when Lilly was with Kite it might work, but I hope the writers stick to the premise of the show not her love life.

OK, this is what I thought, too, so am glad I wasn't misreading several thoughts/threads - both here and elsewhere. That phone call change seemed to further seal the deal, so I guess this is why I'm like, "Six episodes?" LOL! Perhaps this is what bothers me as well ... just sort of let's-get-together-and-hit-the-sack is so one-dimensional. I felt there was more to work with in "Joseph" than at any point in "Dog Day Afternoons." I don't mind Lilly's flaws, her making not so good choices, having to wrestle with her past ... but when she seems to have had a revelation and is ready to be done with it and "change" ... seems contradictory, for me, to go backwards rather than forwards. Perhaps they forgot what they wrote in "Beautiful Little Fool" ... ? LOL! Also, I know folks lust over Brennan's "hotness," but that, for me, is not enough of a reason to care for a) his character; or b) his storyline. A hot guy with little or no backstory other than a line here and there that he was supposed to run off and marry Lilly at 18 does not equate to much of anything other than eye candy ... and for me, IMHO, that's not interesting. Perhaps I'm just too old. LOL! She's afraid of it, yet wants it as much as he does ... brilliant stuff. We shall see where CC chooses to go with this ... it has talking - which is always good. Ray fans will definitely love this news. |
