TVFan - thanks for that information. It cleared out things a bit, even though it makes me angry to learn that in real life the Las Vegas CSIs don't do that. (I don't watch Miami, but I'm willing to give New York a try)
TruBlu - as you and TVFan said, I don't think the show would be the same without the interviews either. Actually I think that if it only showed the CSI work it might get a bit boring.
Another reason I think they should do the interviews - as it happens on CC, it's always more interesting when one of the characters has a personal view of the case. I'm watching the 1st season DVDs and I just finished an episode where Catherine investigates the death of a 6-year-old at a carnival. It was amazing how much she reminded me of Lilly in "Fly Away". We wouldn't get that if she just stayed in the lab.

I read somewhere a while ago that real life Las Vegas CSIs are strictly scientists and not cops. The article even went so far as to say that they are "civilians" just like the rest of us. yesterday I finished my 1st season DVDs and in the last box there's an interview with William Petersen where he says that the CSIs are civilians, and not cops. He also says that CSIs can come from different backgrounds and not all of them have to be scientists. I guess the best thing to do is just watch the show, and not think about these things...

Thanks for that really interesting link Blankregus.
I thought last night's ep was interesting. I certainly hadn't figured it out. I was convinced the mother was guilty. In fact, when Grissom went to the church to talk to the brother, I was so confused! I had no idea he killed Alicia! The whole situation was so tragic. This family had a son with fatal leukimia. Because of this, they neglect their daughter and she gets tangled up with the law. Then, they have another daughter that they ensure is a genetic match to their sick son so she can potentially save him. The son then kills his only chance for survival. Very sad.
The pedophile was so creepy. I guess he was just trying to mess with Grissom, but he gave me chills. I guess the Catherine/Warrick ship has sailed (for now anyway). Warrick seemed very interested in the new DNA girl (Aisha Taylor).

I thought last night's episode was really interesting. I'm glad that it wasn't obvious as to who killed the girl. I really did think that the mother killed her but was surprise to find out that it was her brother, but her parents helped cover the crime up.
I don't think her brother killed her out of malice. It was sad to see how Alicia was a guinea pig. She was in many ways created not out of love, like kids should be, but out of necessity for her brother. Her parents seemed to care only for him and not her and her sister. I think he killed her because she wasn't having a life plus the fact that her parents were using her because of him. I think he did it because he wanted to end her suffering along with his.
The last thing the boy said to Grissom was good.."you may not believe in God, but you do his work". That was good.

I felt so bad for Catherine last night. I can't believe Lindsay! Last time I saw her was when her dad died and she was this tiny little girl and now shes this little bad seed.
Anyway last nights episode was pretty good. I got a little bored during the middle but I liked it overall. I felt so bad for all the children in that family, and even the brother. I hated him for doing that to his sister, but on the other hand, I felt so bad for him because he really thought he was doing the right thing and all he wanted to do was protect her.

Oh boy, was this episode of "CSI" a little bit disgusting. The belief that drinking urine can help in slowing down the aging process and keeping one youthful looking. YUCK!!!! The look on Catherines's face was timeless.
I know I'm one woman who isn't bothered by the fact of getting old.

That whole episode was about urine. Ewwww, soooo gross.
And by the way, what's this whole 'Catherine must flirt with every guy at least once this season' thing? Two episodes ago it was Warrick and in this episode she's feeling Nick's muscles and commenting on how firm they are... uhhhhh.... next week it'll be Grissom or something.
Also, I'd really like it if they stuck to one lab tech. We've seen 3 new ones and we've only been through 4 episodes.
Loved Catherine's new hair cut thing. She looked especially pretty tonight, not sure if it was the bangs or the makeup or whatever, but I loved the ending where she just stood in the mirror. How old is she supposed to be anyway, because her daughter's pretty young, unless she had Lindsay when she was older.

This ep was gross. Not only the previously mentioned urine drinking, but also the first woman's autopsy looked more gory for some reason. Usually, those scenes don't bother me, but this one turned my stomach a bit. I guess the plastic surgeon just made a mistake, but it cost two people their lives. The poor bird! He lost his owner and got birdnapped by the murderer. Now that's a bad day!

I watched CSI:NY last night, and it was a "miss" week for me. The DJ plot fell really flat. The motive was lacking and the story seemed contrived. Was the victim really held by his ankles just so he'd sign a contract? That seems far fetched for me (and I'm willing to accept most of the unplausable things that happen on TV shows). I thought the scene between the head honcho who signed the victim and Aiden was really cliche. The second story involving the fashion designer and the naked sushi bar wasn't as bad, but the resolution seemed contrived. They spent so much time focusing on all the suspects (none of whom were guilty) that when the real killer was revealed, it was a big "Huh?" for me. The motive was there, but I thought the killer came out of left field. I guess the writers were trying to keep the surprise element in it, which they did a good job, but it would have been a better story if the killer's storyline had been developed better. JMO. On a good note, I loved Hill Harper's "ribs" trick. He's really mysterious, and IMO, the best character on the show. I hope they continue to develop him. I love how he has the cot and microwave adjacent to the morgue. He's great. Also, next week's episode involving the tunnel looks really good. This would fit the pattern for me of hit/miss that seems to be alternating weeks.

Did anyone else see tonight's episode of "CSI"? Wow! I'm not sure if freaky is the right word for that episode. I will say that story was pretty interesting but I thought I knew who the guilty person was at the beginning because of the way that girl kept looking at the officers. As for the other story, well I will say that how the man was killed and where the lady was found was interesting. My only problem was that the solution to who killed the lady was just thrown to us. Really no investigating or such. When they found the weapon the next thing we know the owner's wife is being arrested. It's like they just jump to the solution without a little more story. I wonder....does Grissom fantasizes about Sara? The lady in the first story talked about how everyone fantasizes about someone and she looked at him. Very interesting. I wonder if he even has a life. foujylos.notlong.com [/IMG] Tracylynn

Kinky episode! I suspected the step-daughter too (b/c of the way she looked at the cops), but then I forgot about it until they brought it up again. I think Grissom does think about Sara. He always seems to find her. The other storyline was interesting, but I agree Tracylynn, the storyline involving the murdered girlfriend's killer was way under-developed. It was like, "well we found her print so she did it - end of story." Just a minor knit-pick. I wonder what's going to happen with Catherine?

I also wonder what will happen to Catherine but we might not know until the end of the season. I was thinking she might not get the job but I could be wrong.
I just got done watching a repeat of a "CSI" episode where one of the victims looks like Sara. Grissom acted like a guy who was in total shock and he wouldn't rest until it was solved. What got me was the look he had when he saw the girl. He had a look like he was hit in the stomach. Then when Sara saw girl I think it hit her. What got me was when Grissom was in the room with the doctor that killed her and the speech he gave was priceless. I think he was revealing himself to an extent. What made it better was that Sara was listening in on the conversation.

Hey everybody. CSI Vegas had a familiar face. One of the victims was a college girl. Her close friend was none other than Summer Glau whom we all probably know as Paige Pratt from Love Conquers Al. I always find it neat how Bruckheimer uses the same people in his different shows. When this happens, they live in one and die in another. Or, they end up being the killer in one. In this case, she lived to provide the CSIs with valuable information. This episode was strange. The killers were both complete wackos.

Can I just say that tonights episode of CSI was so freaking good! No joke! I loved it, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Everything about it was just so creepy and cool and ahhh! I love this show.
So CSI NY, eh. The episode was ok, but I felt like both cases were resolved too fast. It's getting better but I still like Miami more.

CSI: Original Flavor - I LOVED this episode. The orginal blue paint killer ep was one of my favs, so I was really happy to have a follow up to that case. I recognized the roommate, but I didn't realize she was Paige Pratt! Thanks for the info R2K. The fraternity boy woodchips was just nasty. The visual of the body going through the chipper was stomach-turning gross. The killer was so creepy. I didn't know what he was doing in the stall, but I fugured he was trying to escape. That drawing he left was creepy too. Was there any significance to it other than the fact that it said "Goodbye" on it? Just want to make sure I didn't miss anything. CSI: NY - Yawn. Not much to say about this ep. Overall, the show is not living up to the promise of the first episode. There's just nothing special or original about it, except Hill Harper as the ME. Plus, it doesn't have the funny snark value of CSI: Miami (as annoying as I find David Caruso on there, I've got to admit I watch the show just to laugh at his funny lines and delivery). Next week's NY ep looks good, so maybe I'll have better things to say about this show. One more thing, CBS ordered 10 mores eps for CSI: NY, which gives it a full 23 ep season according to TVGuide.com(scroll down to the middle of the page).

I never saw the original episode about the blue paint killer but from this episode that I just saw I really want to. Can anyone tell me which season the original one aired? Last week the episode was kinky and this time it was freaky and creepy. That's what I like about this show, they explore every little aspect of human nature. The way that the boy was killed was pretty gross. Yuck! It reminded of the movie "Fargo" and it's wood chipper scene. The killer did look pretty creepy. He didn't look like a nerd but he didn't look like a regular jor either. Did anyone notice his teeth? They looked gross and it looked like he hadn't brushed them for sometime. Give him a toothbrush. Of course, I know it was the make up dept. job to make his teeth like that and they did a good job. Overall a well done episode that had gross written all over it. Tracylynn

The promos for Monday, November 11th's CSI:Miami look awesome with the tidal wave. Can't wait. Plus it's a 90 minute ep. WOW. I wonder if CC will ever do a 90 minute episode.

Tracylynn - The original ep is from season 3, and it's called "The Execution of Catherine Willows." Here's the link from TVTome.
