Im happy they are back to. As for the side of "What the heck was all that mess about anyway?" that onebyone mentioned, i read in the paper that the reason Jorja Fox was fired was because she didnt show up for work because she wantd a raise or sumn. And then George Eads was fired because he didnt show up either. But supposedly he said that it was a mistake, and he 'overslept'. I cant wait to see where this goes... ;D

Jorja was fired for not returning a letter saying she wasn't going to use a sick out for a negotiating tool. She was fired before shooting began, she wasn't given a chance to show up. Turns out, she mailed her letter instead of faxing it, so when it showed up, her situation was cleared up and the rehiring negotiations began.
The whole thing was handled so oddly. Still, I am very glad they are back.

I don't watch CSI. But I've been seeing the promos for the new CSI New York. Anyone know the song playing and who the performer is?

Naj - I haven't seen the promos, but as far as I've heard, they're going to be using "Baba O'Riley" by The Who. Not sure if this is what they're playing in the promos though. {edited spelling mistake}

Baba O'Rielly?? For a CSI theme song??
Hey I like the song but I don't know if it would fit?
They currently use it in a Fed Ex (?) commercial or is it an HP commercial??
Not sure..................

Yeah, I'm interested to see how it's going to work too Panhandler. I can't picture it either. Apparently the producers wanted to use a different Who song, but JB overruled and chose "Baba O'Riley." Now, I wish I could remember where I read that story. I guess we'll know for sure come Sept.

The story I saw claimed Anthony Zuiker wanted "Behind Blue Eyes," but CBS honcho Les Moonves chose "Baba O'Riley." Yes, the latter currently figures in an HP spot.

I love CSI it's my number 1 show, I'm a shipper of both Gil/Cath and Gil/Sara so I'm not fused, but I hope nothing happens with them on the show, as it will ruin the show JMO though, I can't wait for when Will and co (I believe it will be Marg, but it hasn't been comfirmed who) jet here in England because that will be cool and I'd love to meet them believe me, I'd do anything ;D I'm looking forward to the fifth season bring it on!!!

Watched the premiere last night, and I thought it was good. I'm not a big fan of the new DNA girl. She got on my nerves a little bit. She seemed to complain a lot too. Maybe she'll get better as the season progresses (she is staying on the show isn't she? I know it looked like she quit last night, but I'm betting she's back in the next ep).
I liked the case that Catherine worked. I'm glad it didn't turn out to be a murder. It was a nice twist and contrast to the other stories last night. The same with the alien officiant buried near Area 51. I felt really bad for the Elvis guy, though. You could tell he was sick over what really happened. The shooting in the club was the weakest story IMO. The killer had no real motive. The explanation was weak IMO. Oh, and poor Greg!
Overall, a good way to start the season!

hehe and poor catherine too! i mean walking in on her so called boyfriend like that. and, furthermore, what kind of excuse is: "what do you expect, i run a nightclub?" dont know where he thought he was going with that one. Poor greg. He was soo nervous about the evalutation. Resulting in his major screw-ups. Maybe now that he has another chance, he'll do a little better. We all know that we want that cute guy on the cases, dont we? haha. although he is safer in the lab, i suppose... but anywhay. I felt bad for the whole team, having to put up with the new DNA person. I dont even remember the plot in the shooting part, it was so weak. Hope that doesnt happen again.

Oh gosh! I completely forgot about that TruBlu. Definitely poor Catherine! What a jerk!!
Greg cracks me up (and he's adorable), so I really want him out in the field. Maybe he'll pass it next ep.

I really like the episode... although I'm not sure I loved that there were 4 cases. I thought it sorta took away from the cases a little. Normally 2 are solved in 40 minutes, so thats like 15 min dedicated to each case. this was like (if you think about) 8 minutes or so per case.
Whatever... poor Catherine.. but honestly, who really thought that would last? anyone?
I happen to like the new lab girl only because she played Michelle on 24. I like that there was someone new added to the cast, I think its a good time for a change.
For the most part, the episode was good.

A minority view, I'm sure.
I found the somber, action-avoiding "CSI: NY" premiere so superior to what the Las Vegas and Miami editions attempt as to constitute a rebuke of them. (The NY show marks the first time creator Anthony Zuiker has been in charge of the day-to-day production.) Gary Sinise boasts a much deeper skill set than Petersen or Caruso (check out his one-man George Wallace and Harry Truman efforts), and I imagine Zuiker promised him challenges greater than holding microscope slides up to the light. His focus in the first outing was unwavering, more akin to the movie "Se7en" than to TV routine -- as the pace slowed, my concentration quickened. Some reviewers thought it too bleak, but I pray Zuiker sticks with it. The blue-grey palette looked amazing on a big flat-panel.
By comparison, "CSI" the next night seemed to me as wispy as a Roadrunner cartoon.
My choice of a mate for Grissom would be the S/M madarn played by Melinda Clarke in 2001 and 2003 guest shots. (She's now on "The O.C.")
One old person's opinion.

Blankregus - I just realized that we never discussed NY on here. I was pleasently surprised by this one. I was expecting Miami and Vegas, but in NY. It was so much better than what I expected. For me, Miami is laughable and Vegas is good entertainement, but NY is quality. I loved the tone and mood of this one. I also thought the gray tones played out well. I've loved Sinise's acting talent since Forrest Gump, and I found his character very touching (particularly the scene when the "locked in" victim communicated by blinking). The ending was so moving with Mac griping the fence that seperated him from the 9/11 site. It was almost as if it was that very fence that was keeping him from his now dead wife. Very touching.
Another thing that I liked about this one was it was much more believable than its predecessors. The scene where Mac and Stella plugged into the computer the picture of the victim blowing a kiss seemed a lot more probable than the way Vegas and (certainly) Miami unraval clues. The process of finding where the picture was taken seemed to make more sense. I hope NY continues this level of quality and story telling.

I too thought NY was good, I just don't know if I can stand to watch another cop drama in NY.
NYPD Blue L&O L&O: CI L&O: SVU
I'll give it another chance... this is what happened with Miami where I hated it but it sorta grew on me.

I didn't like CSI NY. At all. This is shocking because I thought that I would, but I was zzzzzzzzzzzz most of the time. I will give it another shot though, as I rarely like pilot episodes.
I really liked the premier of CSI: The real one. It reminded me of the old episodes where I liked everyone and thought it was just the most dandy of shows. I hope they keep it up. Oh, and I was so glad Jorja and George are there that I wanted to kiss my tv. Ok not really, but you get the idea.

Lol, i thought we all kissed our tv's? *WHAT! IM THE ONLY ONE!!!*
No, but really. I thought i was the only one who didnt enjoy the CSI:NY premier. I liked the regular one much better. Even Miami was a little off, i lost the plot/actuall case about 10 minutes in. They consentrated a little too much on Speed's death. *that is his name, right?*

I haven't seen "CSI - NY" yet but from I've seen from the commercials it doesn' t look that good. I'll try to watch it this week before I come to a final conclusion on the show.
As for "CSI - Miami", I have watched the show a few times but I really haven't been impressed by the show. I think the reason why is the acting. I don't think the plots have been paid it's just the way it's acted out. I saw the premire and it was a little weak and I do believe they killed off the wrong person.
I saw the "CSI" premire and I thought it was pretty good. I did like how they incorporated Area 51 into the show. I think if I would have seen a body liked that I would have freaked out.
I do have a question about "CSI". I have been watching some of the reruns on Spike TV and I saw a episode where they are investigating an apparent suicide of a big wig's son. This big wig is a close friend of Catherine in the episode. I guess he was a former boyfriend of Catherine's mother. Well, I saw an episode a few days ago where the guy give Catherine a check and she didn't want it and when she confront him he said he wanted to do right by her. Who is this guy and what is he to her? In that last episode it was like she didn't like him compared to the first episode. Can anyone help me out on this?
