I don't know if they're getting close in a non-partner way. He did mention that Olivia and the job were the only things that he had left and that he didn't want to lose them, but I didn't think that it meant anything in a romantic sense.

I was a bit skeptical about this episode and what direction it would take. This was the episode that was to explain Olivia's (temporary) departure to accomadate Mariska's maternity leave. Fortunately, I must say I was a bit surprised as to how they handled the O/E partnership in this ep. The writers really left it up to interpretation as to how they feel about each other. Asking for a new partner was the professional thing to do. Most actors will credit, at least in part, good writing for their stellar performances. Mariska and Chris had a lot to work with in this ep and really shined! Hopefully the writer's will build on this ep and continue to explore the dynamics of their partnership.

He did mention that Olivia and the job were the only things that he had left and that he didn't want to lose them, but I didn't think that it meant anything in a romantic sense. I don't think he meant anything in a romantic sense either. We've seen Wolf give a nod to us A/O shippers in "Ghost", but the one thing he refuses to do ever is an E/O thing. So even if E/O shippers percieved their actions in a romantic sense, its not going to happen (something I'm very greatful for!) I was a bit skeptical about this episode and what direction it would take. This was the episode that was to explain Olivia's (temporary) departure to accomadate Mariska's maternity leave. Fortunately, I must say I was a bit surprised as to how they handled the O/E partnership in this ep. The writers really left it up to interpretation as to how they feel about each other. Mariska and Chris had a lot to work with in this ep and really shined! Hopefully the writer's will build on this ep and continue to explore the dynamics of their partnership. The actors performances were certainly good in this episode. Emotions and tensions were extremely high. But, there were a couple things I was disappointed in. One, all the hype about "cop down, cop down!" and its a little cut. She's up and about in about 5 seconds. The other thing is the ending. Although its a great cliffhanger, I expected it to explain MH's maternity leave, so it was a big "huh"? coming from my end. Personally, I'm looking forward to the repeat "Gone". Lots of Casey!

I thought the episode was good and let us see a different side of both characters.

I was glad to hear Mariska won, although it was in the category Kathryn should have been nominated and won in, but I do like Mariska. She kind of grows on you. But I do think Kathryn is a better actress in CC. SVU characters are a lot more one dimensional, I think.
I'm sure I caught a glimpse of Mariska in the Emmy audience as I was channel surfing. Am I mistaken or did she have long hair???

Yeah, I heard her dad is not doing well. It's wonderful that she has such a close relationship with him.
Does anyone know if there is a clip available of her receiving the award last night?

Have any of you seen Law and Order: Special Letters Unit? It's hilarious. I couldn't stop cracking up after watching it.
It's on the NBC site. Go through the SVU videos under EXTRA. It's the only video there.
Even if you don't watch the show, you should watch this. It's great!

Burned was a pretty good episode. I liked how Elliot and Olivia kept getting mad at each other, and then Casey's quote to Cragen: "I thought you said they were working it out." I thought it was a good thing that Elliot finally signed the divorce papers. I also liked Elliot and Olivia's nighttime talk.
I read some spoilers about Philadelphia. I'm looking forward to it, but unfortunately, it won't air until next month (February sweeps).

Casey's humor is good. I think I might like Casey Novak more than I do Olivia Benson (I really have no idea why ). I also like Munch's sense of humor because it's cynical. I also like Olivia's hair. It looks good long like that.

IMO Casey is the best out there so if Mariska and Chris leave the show [we don't know if they will do that yet...] I'll not stop watching this series ;D
did ya saw all eps from season 8? in 8x07 Underbelly was Marcus Fitzgerald [Diane Neal's husband] - bar scene. He played a Homicide ADA and I hope to see him again! it could be nice couple... LOL hiehiehie

IMO Casey is the best out there so if Mariska and Chris leave the show [we don't know if they will do that yet...] I'll not stop watching this series ;D I wouldn't be surprised if Mariska and Chris leave. NBC has quite a few strong shows besides L&O:SVU now, so they might not be so inclined to go through with the pay raises. did ya saw all eps from season 8? in 8x07 Underbelly was Marcus Fitzgerald [Diane Neal's husband] - bar scene. He played a Homicide ADA and I hope to see him again! it could be nice couple... LOL hiehiehie I saw that episode, although I didn't know that he was her husband. It reminds me of Marg Helgenberger's husband guest starring on CSI. Anyways, i wouldn't mind seeing him again either.
