Not really LII...i had to watch 4 episodes of BONES season 1 in order to have some interest...and then another 12 before i got hooked.....the earlier episodes are really boring and it's a show that copied the formula from CSI/VM....but i stayed with BONES mainly because i thought this show does has some potential because i loved the characters and Dr. Brennan reminds me of myself and her best friend, Angela, reminds me of my bff(artist). It's more of a character show than a plot show...in my opinion. Characters/Music/Plots are what attracts me to a show and not to mention.....David Boreanaz is sooooo goddamn hawtt...and Emily Deschanel is sooo down-to-earth =).
Also Season 2 has improved sooo much because we find out soo many things about Dr. Brennan's past. In Season 1 they left off with things about her family and they continued that in Season 2....Season 3 they're going to continue the story arc with her father. It's getting pretty interesting right now.

I like it. I found it easy to get into.
It's got some of the science aspects of CSI, and some bits the squeamish could find quite difficult, but is played more lightly. It's not a comedy but there are a lot of fun/funny moments.
As coldboneslove459 says, it's a character show more than a plot show.
Watch a couple if you can LII and see how you feel. Let us know what you think.

It hooked ME rarely fast. The characters sort of grow on you. Especially Brennan because she's so weird and Booth 'cause he's so sweet. He's the typical friend/sidekick you have who's always at your side no matter what, loyal to the point of obsession, a genuinely nice person, who will do EVERYTHING in his power to make you think he's a bad SOB. It's kinda cute really. He's always teasing her but when push comes to shove, he'll always be there.
The rest of the squints are pretty cool too. Plus I love the undercurrent of dark humor through the whole thing. It's mostly a drama, but it has its really funny human moments.

Well... I can think of a couple of cases that were really dramatic. And that would be about it, I guess. The crimes are dark--human interaction is funny. Let's call it a "dramedy"... sort of like Gilmore Girls but... not.

Dramedy, sort of like the Gilmore Girls? Hmm ... never watch GG. lol
Yup, it is more a character show than a plot show. I definitely watch it, love it because of the characters. I mean, we do have enough crime shows, and of course people compare it with something like CSI, we didn't actually needed another one. But the show has great characters, some good writing, there is that sort of dry, sometimes dark humor I like, the cases are sometimes gross (not a good show to watch while having dinner, lol, testet that myself) and I have the impression, despite that they do a professional job and try to be very accurate, they don't take it too serious. Probably the bliss of being not produced by one of the big crime show production machines.

Oh yeah... Bones. I love the show but I did not want to be spoiled at all so I hadn't read this thread before finishing S2. First of all I love Booth, he is everything I love about people and if I ever met someone like him in real life, I'd surely fall for him... He's such a hottie! And besides he is the male half of my shipper which I by the way called Boones, muahaha What I like about the show mostly is the humor. It may seem gross from time to time but not for me. For example not everyone would appreciate the idea of filling the skin of a head with air in order to recreate the face... ^^, I admire Bones too. She seems to be so emotionally inept, true, but she reminds me of myself at times. The difference is that I am the one making pop cultural remarks that noone else understands... Good to know I'm not alone :] The attorney woman, Booth's aquaintance or whoever she is is hilarious (I loved it when she told the team not to lose it when Hodge was about to resign and they won the trial and he stayed) but my fav guest star is Stephen Fry as Dr. Gordon Gordon Wyatt. I saw him in 'A bit of Fry and Laurie' when I was looking for Hugh Laurie's (Dr. Gregory House on House) previous projects and he was a great comedian then. What he did to Booth was annoying at first which I felt annoying myself but then he warmed up And since I am a Boones shipper I can't like Sully, can I? O, really, I know in my perfect world he wasn't supposed to appear in the first place but did he have to be such a jerk? Aaarghhh... I'm glad he is gone and don't want him back. All the Bones/Booth conversations are just too funny, I have the cover of my fav copy book covered with Bones quotes and I enjoy reading them everytime I get bored during a lesson at school

What I like about the show mostly is the humor. It may seem gross from time to time but not for me. For example not everyone would appreciate the idea of filling the skin of a head with air in order to recreate the face... ^^, Hehe....Something is always funny when you have Zack and Jack around XD. Their experiments are hillarious ^^. I admire Bones too. She seems to be so emotionally inept, true, but she reminds me of myself at times. The difference is that I am the one making pop cultural remarks that noone else understands... Good to know I'm not alone :] I love Bones too. She believes in what she believes and doesn't let anyone change her opinion. She's a strong female role model on this show XD. my fav guest star is Stephen Fry as Dr. Gordon Gordon Wyatt. I saw him in 'A bit of Fry and Laurie' when I was looking for Hugh Laurie's (Dr. Gregory House on House) previous projects and he was a great comedian then. What he did to Booth was annoying at first which I felt annoying myself but then he warmed up I love Stephen Fry!!! I saw him and Hugh Laurie in Blackladder...freaking funny duo XD. since I am a Boones shipper I can't like Sully, can I? O, really, I know in my perfect world he wasn't supposed to appear in the first place but did he have to be such a jerk? Aaarghhh... I'm glad he is gone and don't want him back. Absolutely wrong there lol....I'm a B/B shipper myself, but I love Sully!!! The actor that plays him is really funny in his interviews and Sully really brought out the jealousy in Booth and of course, made Booth want Brennan more. Now for someone I wish to never return....Cam.....I hate her!!!! Probably because she stole Booth away from Brennan temporary(like Sully), but Cam threathen to fire Dr.Brennan!!!!!

And I am absolutely spoiler-free as far as all the three CSIs and Bones are concerned. Is this thread SF or do I have to stop reading it? Really, I just too much appreciate surprises while watching so that I can squee and whine out loud I can't wait to see the missing episode. tv.com says it wasn't aired due to some shooting that was related to the episode's case, is that correct? Btw, Cam and Sully should disappear together and never come back, muahaha

I don't really know if this is qualified as spoilers, but Bones is getting not a 22 episode season like before but a 28 episode season!! Interesting. It looks like a possible strike by writers, directors and actors next year has caused networks to get shows into production early and to get extra episodes made. Weird how they have a strike planned so far in advance, giving people a chance to work around it limits the effectiveness of action. If the strike starts in June 2008 then it might effect production of the autumn/fall 2008 season so I guess that this gives them extra episodes to keep the shows on air. So 28 episodes could be thought of as season 3 and the first 4-6 of season 4.

My friend asked spoilerfix.com and they said no....plus I rather have "quality" not "quantity". Heh...bit pessimistic about this.

How bad could Bones be if it had to cram all those episodes in? More DB(David Boreanaz) dosage for me XD.

28 eps??? Wow, sounds a bit much. Though I really don't think they can screw up this show. They've got a really good thing going on. I'm really far behind, of course--just finished watching the ep where Hodgins tampers with evidence and almost gets himself kicked out (I love Caroline, Booth's lawyer friend too--she's such a tough lady, talk about smacking them all into next week). Can't say I hate Sully. I'll probably never be a big fan of my faves getting into relationships, but Sully is just so LOVEABLE. He's the kinda guy I'd probably fall for in real life--quirky, playful--a bit of a kid all the time, but in a nice way. And Bren obviously likes him. I've also loved this side plot of Booth being in therapy. It's creative--don't think I'd ever seen it handled like this on a cop show before--unexpected and VERY funny. Gordon Gordon is just... *snort* *guffaw*. Isn't it the same guy who played a detective in a UK cop show a few years back? I LOVED him back then--it was a cool miniseries. His hair was way different though.

28 eps??? Wow, sounds a bit much. It sounds like they are doing it with several shows in case strike action prevents shows being made next summer for the fall 2008 schedules. I saw Steve Carell on The Daily Show the other week saying that The Office (US version) has been commissioned for 30 episodes. Dr Wyatt is played by Stephen Fry the English comedian, comic actor, serious actor, director, TV show host, author, all round very smart and funny guy etc. etc. I don't remember him playing a detective as such. He's most famous for his roles in the various Blackadder series and his comedy shows with on stage partner Hugh Laurie, now more famous as Stuart Little's (the mouse) father and Dr House.
