Listening to an interview on #WPSU with Bruce Springsteen today.

I can't help thinking about Kathryn and Meredith and Temple University and their love of Bruce so much Meredith made the episode "8 Years."

But this is sort of an "eat your heart out" to Kathryn and Meredith
I visited Ocean Grove, New Jersey in late July early August 1987 and stayed at the Pine Tree Inn. The proprietor, I think, must have known Bruce (very well it appears). She told us Bruce and his band was going to be at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park (stone's throw from Ocean Grove) Saturday Night. We went down very early and stood in line for a couple hours and got in for a $5 cover. Around Midnight as I was standing there in the bar, I did not realize I was standing in the direct path Bruce was going to walk out to enter the stage. He was 12 inches from me. I *could* have just reached out to touch him as there was no one between us. We were that close. I didn't realize he wasn't taller than I thought. I'm 5'7" and he seemed to be my height. (I just checked online and it says 5'10".)
So he and all his E Street Band were there. They played 90 minutes. That was the year of the release of his "Tunnel of Love" album in the fall. The video has Bruce walking on the beach at the end with all the Victorian Homes in the background.
