I really like the way the fic is laid out, and it really does feel like a virtual episode
I like the music and the links to the actors picture. I like that you've found an actor to play each character.

zoe is the music on the test site suppose to work because the youtube music thing doesn't even play. But the test site seems simple but if it is spruced up with Cold Case themed pictures it would look nice. I also like the idea of putting in the opening song of Cold Case at the homepage of the virtual season 8 site.

The music worked for me. It doesn't actually show the video, just plays the music.
One thing I noticed; by playing the music it actually forces you to read the scenes, and imagine them in full detail. If you just skim the scenes, the effect is lost.

-I recommend pasting the story from the Look Again board rather than ff.net, since it's the most up-to-date version posted. (I still haven't gotten around to fixing the name of Gabrielle and Angela after I retroactively switched them). Sorry for that, I copy pasted from my Word file with the original chapters. I'll try to fix that later! -In the case of characters portrayed by two actors such as Seth, perhaps the name should only link to one picture and name at a time. Therefore the name of Seth in the present links to the adult actor while the Seth link in the flashbacks gives us the child version. This is just partly to avoid giving away the occasional surprise. I agree, but it's not easy to set this up  Edited to add: Since we're already adding music, how about the opening theme at the bottom of the teaser page too?  It's added at the bottom of part 1  I guess for the next story I do, I'll try to mimic the show.. But I might not have any music for it. The music didn't work for me, only on part 1, and part 2, but I don't mind, I really like this story. I don't need the music to get into the scenes because they're so well written. Great Job!!!  |

So with Nomnivore and ToddSmitts , we worked on the site and we are now looking for contributors: Many Cold Case fans were disappointed when the show was canceled in May 2010, especially when the show didn't get to have a proper finale. Many plot threads were left hanging. So we decided that Cold Case wasn't going to go cold. We loved the show, and wanted it to continue in some way. Enter...Cold Case Season Eight Cold Case Season Eight is a virtual fan produced season. We plan on having around twenty-two fan written episodes, each written in the style of a Cold Case episode. This is where you come in. Would you like to write? Are you good at graphics? Do you beta read? Do you have any suggestions for plot lines or music? Fill up the form at test.coldcasepedia.com/ |

Hello everyone, I haven't post in a long time, but I really wanted to say that this is an awesome idea. Gilmore Girls fans wrote 3 more seasons after the show was cancelled. We can keep the show alive as long as we want to. I've written CC fic in the past, and I'd love to contribute, but unfortunately I'm involved in other projects so I can't commit to this. But in the future I hope I can. I'm looking forward to read the first episodes.

Sorry I didn't see your message earlier. You can register on the site and follow the construction of the virtual season (by visiting the forums or just by reading the weekly newsletter made by Nomnivore).
If you want to write an episode later during the year or in 2011, it's OK too, you don't have to commit to anything.

Hey guys! Okay, I finally watched the season finale online, thankfully I found two websites, but one websites a faulty. Now I'm rewatching it all. I missed the last two seasons because it came on so late and I had school (I was 13 and 14 around those times) And I finally found out that I did see bits and pieces of season1. Anyway, I'm a writer on Fanfic, and I signed up for this website. I haven't recieved a reply yet on my password, and it's the same username as on here, but I have an awesome christmas episode that I'm in the middle of posting. Anyone interested in helping me find music from 1989 especially christmas music from that time because I know Jump 5 wasn't around then please help me. Also, I'm in the film editing area at my school, so if anyone sends me clips of cold case that would like to be part of their episodes, just e-mail me and I'll do my best. I've also sent in two comments about this, so is the site still running? Thanks.

Speaking candidly, I think the idea may have fizzled out. It may have been too much for such a small group of people. I haven't heard from Cecile (zoe on this board) in at least a year. It probably didn't help that chapters were posted months apart (I admit, I'm almost certainly more guilty of this than anyone.) It's a darn shame though, because I'm really proud of the 2-part premiere and had a few more ideas, both for episodes, and for long-term story arcs (most of which were alluded to in the premiere. If anyone wants to know what they were, they can message me). That being said, if you have a story idea, by all means, post it here and/or on fanfiction.net. The season 8 website is still up ( www.coldcasevirtualseason.net/), showing the stories that have been posted and some really good guidelines for keeping stories true to the show. I'm happy to beta-read for you as well, if you like. Let me know. T.S. |
