See this thread for details about the new site!I've heard of other shows doing a fanfiction season. If you have a look at "virtual season eight" on Google tons of shows have got them written (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=MQG&rls=com.ubuntu%3Aen-US%3Aunofficial&q=virtual+season+eight&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=) Would anyone else be interested? I'd love to take part in one / organise one but I really don't know if there's enough people out there who'd take part. It could be a short season- not necessarily twenty-two episodes.

But personally, I think we should create a new site, seeing that there are many Cold Case fan sites, and I don't think anyone of them should be favoured, because their all great.

For those who don't have or haven't gone to fan fiction.net, there is something annoying they have or maybe my adblocker needs updating.
If an ad comes up, just wait and let it come up then find the gray button on the right hand side to 'SKIP AD'.
When I have gone to a site, it comes up then go to a story then it comes up. Just be patient.

I was actually contacted by someone about 1 month ago regarding this subject. I wasn't planning on adding the fics directly on coldcasepedia but on a separate website, which would just be running on the same content management system.
The first step is to use Toddsmitts' existing fics to set up a standard format and a proper display (guest cast pictures, music streaming...).
And then to organize a season 8 with continuity between "episodes" and storylines for the detectives.
I hope it doesn't bother anyone if I'm hosting it. I have currently little time so once the website is initialized, if someone (nomnivore ?) wants to manage this, it's even better ;D

Sad to say... but it's most likely going to be the only way... I don't think TNT is going to pick up Cold Case. It stinks but in the same breath, seven seasons is nothing to sneeze at either. Indeed. For every show that lasts that long, there are dozens more that didn't even make it to one full season. It'd be kind of interesting to count the shows that premiered in the 2003-2004 season and see how many hung on for a while and how many more fizzled away. That being said, there's something to be said for going into a season knowing definitively that it will be a show's last and planning things out accordingly (i.e. "Lost"). That's not always possible though. Most of the main characters were left in a satisfying place at season's end (Kat appearing to reconcile with Bell, Vera reconnecting with his old flame Megan), yet there's still enough dangling threads left over that I think could be made into some further character arcs. I, for one, had some rather specific story arcs in mind. Without spoiling anything, I could give some vague hints anyone's interested. |

@zoe, i thought nomnivore already created or is creating page for it so let him do it and host it not to make any confusionw with the sites. coz its like everyone jumps at this idea, hundreds of pages are created about it and fans will go all over instead of unite on one page. So yeah, let nomnivore do this =)

That's not always possible though. Had to say, IMO the writers shouldn't have written Shattered the way they did with several loose ends.. Season 6 had the rumors flying around...but Season 7, the writing was on the wall. The contracts were going to be up, they quit shooting in Philly, they cut several cast members out of several episodes this season to save money,it was clear Cold Case had a good chance of not coming back. But I digress... it will great to see what you come up with, I fully enjoyed your storys on fanfaction,so I know I will enjoy this as well. |
