“Lilly, are you ready?”
Lilly stood in front of the mirror, a skinny figure staring back at her.
“Lilly?”
Her white dress shined as she ran her hands down the sides of her body. She looked into the mirror, seeing Kat standing in the doorway.
“Are you ready?”
“I don’t know.”
“What do you mean?”
Lilly’s hair flowed with curls, a few curls pinned back, while the rested hang free.
“What if it doesn’t work?”
“Come on Lil, you’ve been with him for ages.”
“I know but...marriage changed everything.”
“You want to marry him right?”
Lilly felt her eyes getting watery, but waved her hands around her face, trying to stop the tears from ruining her makeup. “Yes, of course, I just don’t want to ruin things.”
“If you love him, and you feel it’s right, then do it, but if you’re too scared of mixing it up, don’t.”
“Is everyone waiting?” Lilly asked, sitting down on the nearest chair.
“Not yet, nearly though.”
“How much time till I have to go out?”
“10 minutes at the most.”
“Can you call Scotty?”
“What? No! You can’t see the bride before the wedding.”
“I don’t need to see him, just to talk to him.”
Kat sighed as she hurried out of the small room, going in search of Scotty.
As Kat found Scotty outside holding Brookelle, Lilly paced around the room, her nerves growing.
“Scotty.”
“Hey, what are you doing here?”
“Lilly needs you.”
“What’s wrong?” Scotty asked, fearing for the worst.
“She just needs to talk to you.”
Scotty placed Brookelle into Nick’s arms, the little girl not wanting to let go. “Brookie, stay here with Uncle Nicky, I need to see mummy.”
The little girl was now just over 1 year. Lilly hadn’t wanted to wait so long, but issues with her weight stopped them from being able to move it forward.
“Daddy!”
“Shh, I’ll be back honey.”
Scotty left the little girl with Nick as he strolled of with Kat.
Meanwhile Lilly was still pacing around the room, her dress following her while her veil sat on the dresser.
“Lil,” she heard someone call on the other side of the door.
“Scotty?”
“Are you okay honey?”
Lilly moved to the door, slowly resting her head against the door. “I don’t know.”
“Are you having second thoughts?”
“No...I’m just scared. I don’t want things to stuff up.”
“If we work on it, nothing will happen.”
“I’m so scared,” she whispered, feeling her legs starting to go limp.
“Wish I could see you right now.” Scotty changed the subject, trying to lighten the mood.
“The dress is nice, but I look fat in it.”
“Lil, you are not fat, you’re sexy.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes!”
Lilly felt herself smile as her hand rested on the door handle. “Thanks.”
“So can I go back now, and you’ll finish getting ready.”
Her grip loosened on the handle as she took a deep breath. “Yes, but call boss and my dad.”
Instead of having her father walk her down her aisle, she decided on having both Stillman and Paul walk her down the aisle, seeing Stillman had been like a father to her over the past few years.
“Sure, I love you...”
“I love you too Scotty.”

Paul and John arrived at the same time, walking through the door as Lilly picked with her veil.
Paul smiled as Stillman felt tears coming on.
“You look beautiful.” Paul moved towards her, taking her veil as he set it on her head.
“Gorgeous...” John took a hold of her hand, rubbing her palm as he looked down at her dress. “Never thought I’d see the day when you, got married.”
“Me too, but...things change, blame Scotty for that.”
“I wouldn’t have chosen anyone else for you but him.” John let go of her hand, stepping back as Paul came around to Stillman.
“You look amazing Lilly.”
“Thanks, I just hope I can control my nerves.”
“Do you love him?” Cooper asked, looking deeply into her eyes.
“Yeah, I do.”
“Then everything will be fine.”
Lilly smiled and turned around to face the mirror. She couldn’t believe the woman who stared back. A happy blonde, wearing a white wedding dress, a glowing smile, and a man waiting for her to walk down the aisle. She had never thought she would ever get this far in a relationship, however, now that she had gotten this far, she wouldn’t have had it any other way.
“Ready?” John whispered.
“Yep.”
Lilly grabbed a hold of Pauls and Stillman’s hands, letting them guide her while she watched for Kat.
Half way to the altar, and Lilly spotted Kat standing outside with Maggie. They soon saw Lilly, and hurried over to her.
“You look amazing Lilly.” Maggie hugged Lilly while Kat fixed her veil.
“Thanks, I just hope Scotty loves it.”
“He will, now are you ready?” Kat asked, stepping back.
“Yeah.”
“Okay, let’s go then.”
Lilly glanced around, seeing no one around except for them.
As they reached the doors, Lilly felt her heart skip a beat as it pounded in her chest. She tried to relax her breathing, wanting this to be a perfect wedding. ‘You can do this’ she told herself, gripping her father’s and bosses hands as she stood at the doors.

As soon as Scotty spotted Lilly coming through the doors, his heart jumped with excitement as his eyes travelled over her body. The dress complimented her figure well, her skinny body very noticeable.
She smiled over at him as she moved closer, Paul and Stillman walking beside her.
Brookelle stood beside Scotty, her balance supported by Scotty legs.
Lilly reached Scotty, her hand taking his while her father and boss kissed her and sat down.
“We are gathered here today...” Lilly let the priests words float away as her gaze caught Scotty’s.
He stared deeply into her eyes while she stared back. “I love you,” he mouthed, squeezing her hand. She returned his kind words, staring back at the priest, but not listening to what he had to say.
Lilly was still not concentrating when Scotty turned to her. She turned to him too, her hands dropping to her side as Scotty cleared his throat.
“Lilly, I’ve worked with you long enough to respect everything that you do. From the day I met you, I couldn’t keep my eyes off you. Everyone time I look at you, my heart skips a beat; I can’t look away when I see your eyes. I fell in love with you, with everything you do, you’re breathtaking smile, you’re gorgeous blue eyes, or even...your blonde hair. Everything about you, is perfect, and I wouldn’t change any of it! We’ve made mistakes, but I don’t regret anything otherwise I wouldn’t be here today, making you my wife. With Brookelle now, everything is perfect, and I hope we last forever, ‘cause I never want to lose you, you complete me.”
Lilly smiled as she looked down at the floor.
“Scotty...we haven’t had the perfect relationship, and sometimes I doubt where things are going, but you always push away my insecurities, and you make me believe I can be happy. I’m stubborn, and mean, and annoying, but you’ve stayed with me, and I can’t thank you more. I don’t care if our relationship started over a meaningless fling, because things changed, and I fell for you. We have a baby together, and now we’re getting married, so really, it’s just the life I always dreamed of. I just hope that things will stay the same ‘cause I’ve never been more in love in my life then I am with you at this moment.”
Lilly finished, staring up at Scotty. Both of their eyes filled with tears as they grabbed a hold of each other’s hand.
“Do you Scotty, take Lilly, to be you’re lawful wedded wife, to have and hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until do you part?”
“I do.”
“And do you Lilly, take Scotty, to be you’re lawful wedded husband, to have and hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until do you part?”
Lilly felt a wave of fear spread through her body, but Scotty’s squeeze of her hand let it flow away, regaining her courage.
“I do.”
As soon as Lilly felt the ring slide of her finger, her knees weakened knowing she was now Scotty’s wife.
“You may now kiss the bride.”
Scotty lifted the veil from her head, his lips finding hers as the couple shared a passionate kiss.

At the reception, Lilly did two father dances, one with John, and one with Paul.
The dances were sweet, Cooper telling Lilly how proud he was, and Stillman releasing a few tears as they talked about the last few years.
“When Scotty first arrived in our department, I was sure as hell he’d try to seduce you.” John admitted, his hand resting on her shoulder.
“He ended up doing exactly that.”
“I’m happy for you Lilly, I really am happy you found him, and he found you.”
Lilly’s smile stretched as the dance came to an end. “Thank you.”
The two walked off together, Lilly finding Scotty and pulling him into a hug. While everyone talked, Lilly and Scotty embraced, Scotty whispering into her ear sweet words of love.
“Time for our dance,” she whispered, stepping back.
The two made their way to the floor, Lilly never letting go of Scotty’s hands. The music played as the two moved closer together.
“You know Lil, you look beautiful.”
“I could say the same for you.”
“I’m serious...I couldn’t have found a more gorgeous, stunning, utterly amazing wife than you.”
Lilly felt herself blush; shocked that Scotty could still make her go red. “Thanks.”
“Are you happy, with how the wedding turned out?”
“Yes, now I just can’t wait till tonight.”
Scotty lifted his eyebrows, spinning her around and pulling her back. “Really?”
“Mmhmm.”
The two silenced then, dancing around while guests watched in awe.
“Scotty...”
“Yeah?”
“I need to tell you something.”
Scotty pulled back, watching as Lilly tried to find the words. “What?”
“I’m...pregnant.”
Scotty stopped dancing, his mouth opening as his eyes widened. “You can’t be.”
“We’ve had sex Scotty.”
“But we used protection.”
“Not all the time...not when you had nothing on you.”
Scotty looked around, seeing Kat staring at him like everything had gone wrong. He pulled Lilly closer to him and started dancing again. “Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“How far along?”
“A month I’d say.”
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t be so impatient with sex,” he whispered into her ear, his hand gripping her side.
“Don’t be, I want another baby.”
“You do?”
“Yep.”
“Good, cause I kinda wanted one too.”
Lilly giggled as he kissed her neck. The music slowly stopped, and Lilly found herself pulling Scotty towards the team.
“We have to tell everyone something. “I’m pregnant!”
Everyone stared as Lilly and Scotty smiled. Scotty wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck again. “We’re having another baby.”
The two looked down at Brookelle who was looking up confused.
“You’re going to have a sister or a brother Brookie.” Scotty whispered into her ear, picking her up when she reached out for her mother.

Eight months on, Lilly and Scotty welcomed their first son, Lucas Scott Valens. By the time Brookelle turned two, the two were both back at work full time, having swapping between Scotty’s parents and Lilly’s parents to look after the children.
“Never thought we’d get this far.” Scotty whispered into her ear as they lay in bed.
“Why’s that?”
“Just thought it wouldn’t work out.”
“Are you glad it did?”
Scotty kissed her forehead lightly as he pulled the covers up. “Of course.”
“Mummy?”
The couple looked down to see Brookelle standing beside the bed.
“What honey?”
“Sleep wit’ you?”
Lilly smiled as she pulled the toddler into the bed. Matt slept close by in his cot as Brookelle cuddled up to her parents.
“Mummy, me want a sister.”
“Maybe in a few months.”
“Lil.” Scotty whispered, having not discussed the topic of more children.
“Scotty,” she teased, mimicking his tone. “We can try anytime we like.”
Scotty rolled his eyes at her stubbornness, after all this time, Lilly was still the same as when he met her. Although, Scotty wouldn’t change a thing, he was glad he still had the ‘Lilly’ he had fallen in love with.
“We need to talk about it first.”
“Maybe...maybe not, you seem to be good at getting me pregnant.”Lilly chuckled, turning around to face him.
Brookelle lay down in the middle of them, both parents wrapping their hands around her.
“Yeah well you seem to be very good at being fertile every time we have sex.”
“That’s what makes it fun baby.”
Lilly winked seductively over at him as Brookelle stared up confused.
“Brookie go to sleep okay, its adults stuff,” he mumbled, closing his eyes.
Brookelle nodded and closed her eyes.
“Scotty...”
“Mmm.”
“I love you.”
Scotty opened his eyes to look over at Lilly. He reached over and kissed her lightly, the kiss being deep and love-filled.
“I love you too honey.”
The two both closed their eyes, hoping that night they would have a good sleep as one small family.
