Mind vs. Heart

With their families both wondering where their relationship was heading, both Lilly and Scotty decided to call their families and let them know they sorted their problems out.
“Hey ma.”
“Scotty, is Lilly okay?”
“Yeah, just wanted to call and I wanted you tell paps that we sorted it out.”
“Are you getting married?”
“Well not yet, just engaged.”
“Aw, that’s fantastic.”
“Yeah, it is. I gotta go now, just wanted to tell you.”
“Bye.”
Scotty hung up and pulled Lilly close. “I love you, you know that?”
“You tell me every day, how could I forget?”
“Just making sure.”
Lilly lightly kissed him, and then grabbed the phone. As she dialled the number, Scotty placed his head on her shoulder.
“Hello.”
“Finn?”
“Yes, who’s this?”
“Lilly.”
“Oh hey...you okay?”
“Yeah just wanted to let you know that Scotty and I sorted things out.”
“Oh that’s great.”
“Yeah, so we’ll talk about the plans after the baby is born.”
“That’s great sis.”
“Yep, just tell the rest of the family.”
“Sure.”
“Okay bye.”
Scotty smiled and kissed her neck. “Don’t ring boss, we’ll message everyone else.”
“Why?”
“We have somewhere we need to be.”
“Scotty, come on, we have other things to do.”
“Yeah, like what?”
Lilly giggled, not being able to come up with something. “Well how about you make me something to eat first.”
Scotty sighed and pulled her into the kitchen. As he begun making her a salad roll, Lilly watched him make his way around the kitchen. She moved around with him, holding onto his waist as he made her food.
“Lil I can’t do anything if you’re in the way.”
“Don’t wanna move, too comfy.”
Scotty moaned as he pulled her around to the counter. He bent her over it as they shared a passionate kiss. A few minutes later, Scotty pulled her back up as she let her head rest on his shoulder.
“Better?” he asked, rubbing her back.
“Yes.”
Scotty laughed as he gave her a plate of two rolls.
“Now hurry up and eat so we can go.”
“Don’t rush me or we can’t do anything.”

“A skate rink?”
“It’s not a skate rink. It’s just ice.”
“I don’t know Scotty, I can’t skate.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll help you.”
Lilly reluctantly walked with Scotty to the cold ice. With her skates now on, Scotty helped her onto the ice. She held onto him tightly, feeling her legs wobble.
“Just hold onto me, and I won’t let you fall.”
Lilly giggled as he pulled her along, her legs not moving, just staying spread as he pulled her along.
“I’m scared Scotty.”
Scotty quickly spun around her, holding her up from the back of her waist. He stopped suddenly, grabbing Lilly’s hands.
“Bend your knees, then you move one foot forward, then the other a forward, then one by one you move them forward, pushing them into the ice.”
Lilly tried hard to follow his instructions, her hands quivering inside his.
“There you go, keep doing that.”
Lilly smiled as her eyes watched her feet. Scotty slid her around slowly, her skates scraping against the ice. She gasped lightly, not used to doing complicated moves such as these.
The two continued their movements for the next half an hour, Lilly not remembering a time when she had so much fun.
Her eyes were brightly shining until she spotted a muscular figure across the street. She guided Scotty to the edge of the ice, her eyes squinting. Rob!
“poo poo.”
“What?” Scotty asked, noticing the frown coming from her lips.
“Rob is following us.”
“Rob?”
“Look Scotty, I didn’t want to tell you but he won’t leave me alone. Keeps ringing me, showing up at your place-“
Scotty stopped her quickly, placing his hands on her shoulders. “Showing up at my place?”
“I know, you were sleeping. He thinks something’s going on between us and I can’t get him to leave me alone.”
Scotty’s clenched his fists, his jaw clenching at the same time.
“Scotty calm down, you don’t want to do anything stupid.”
He quickly ignored her statement, skating away from her. Lilly tried to follow, but her skates gave way as she fell to the ground.
“Scotty.”
Rob quickly disappeared into a alley way as Scotty turned around. He hurried over to Lilly, picking her up slowly.
“Lil, you okay?”
Lilly didn’t answer, but clutched his shoulder as pain ripped through her body.
“My back,” she whispered.
Scotty lifted her into his arms, and soon enough, he was driving her room and she fell asleep in the car.
Of course Scotty was angry with Lilly, but he let it slid knowing she didn’t want to cause problems. He would definitely have to deal with Rob before it went too far.

When Scotty got Lilly in bed, he felt guilty for about to leave her alone. The fall she took wasn’t bad, but he still felt sceptical whether he should stay with her or not. He stayed for a few minutes making sure she wouldn’t awake. Finally, he wrote her a note saying he would take care of Rob.
He didn’t know where Rob lived, but he was sure he could have his address in no time. He called a friend of his and got his address.
When he arrived, he parked opposite the house, searching for his car. It wasn’t there. So he sat in the car going through pictures of Lilly in his phone. He had been taking photos of her on his camera and phone, planning to make a photo album for the baby and give it to it when it turned 18.
He stopped when he heard a car pull up. He pulled his gun into his jacket and got out of the car. Slowly he walked up the front porch, knocking on the door slightly.
“Hi, can I help you?”
“Rob right?”
“Uh yeah.”
“Listen, I know you’re practically stalking Lilly and I’m going to give you one chance, you come near her once more and you’ll be sorry.”
“Why you so jealous for?”
“I ain’t jealous; I know she wouldn’t think twice about you.”
“She went out with me.”
“Once, and for only one reason, she’ll never do it again.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure.”
Scotty grew angrier, his fists starting to clench as he bit his lip. “You don’t want me to get angry. So one time only, you stay away from my fiancé.”
“Your fiancé?” Rob stuttered.
“Yeah, my fiancé who is carrying my baby. You back off before you regret it.”
“You got her pregnant?”
“Yes, now am I clear.”
“No!”
Scotty was about to leave when he heard the man’s harsh voice. “Sorry?”
“She’s mine, just ‘cause you go her knocked up doesn’t mean she wants to do you again.”
Scotty didn’t think twice about his next move. His fist collided with Rob’s chin and Rob’s went to his neck. The both fell to the ground, rolling around as punches were flown in the air. Groans and moans came from both of their mouths as Scotty bet up the younger man.
At the same time Lilly pulled up. After waking up and finding the note, she knew Scotty wouldn’t be able to control himself.
“Scotty stop,” she screamed, running up to the two men. “Stop!”
The two ignored her, blood everywhere.
Lilly pulled out her gun, targeting the trash can, she pulled the trigger.
The two men stopped, looked up at Lilly and let their fists drop. Scotty rolled off onto the ground and breathed in.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Lilly screamed, kicking him in the leg. “Are you crazy?”
Rob sat up satisfied, wiping the blood from his nose. “Told ya she didn’t love you,” he laughed harshly, winking at Lilly.
Scotty went to jump at him, but Lilly stood in front of him, her eyes shooting him daggers.
“Why couldn’t you ignore him Scotty? He’s not worth it.”
“He doesn’t get to treat you that way.”
“God Scotty, I told you ‘cause I thought you wouldn’t get mad if you saw him talking to me. You didn’t have to try to kill him.”
Scotty slowly stood up, clutching stomach. “I had to Lil.”
“No you didn’t, are you gonna do that to everyone who flirts with me. You know what maybe we shouldn’t even get married. If you’re gonna treat people like that, I don’t want you anywhere near my baby.”
“Our baby.” Scotty whispered as she stormed off to her car. Scotty looked down at Rob on the floor. He was chuckling as he watched Lilly’s ass.
“Back off.”
“Why would I do that? You’re over, and I’m next in line.”
Scotty spat on him, blood running from his mouth.
“Oh and uh, you know I can sue you for assault?” Rob smirked.
“Try it, I dare you, watch how it turns out.”
Scotty started to walk off, his back aching and his legs wobbling. Lilly was driving as he got into his car.

By the time Scotty returned to Lilly’s apartment, she had locked him out. The spare key was gone and he definitely didn’t want to go home.
He rested against her door, hoping she would let him in.

When Lilly awoke in the morning, she hoped Scotty would have left. The baby was kicking hard but she didn’t feel like eating. She wanted Scotty to be there so he could hold her and rub her belly.
She got into her work clothes and quickly made herself cereal.
When she was ready, she grabbed her coat and gun, and then headed for the door. As she opened the front door, Scotty fell backwards. His eyes opened quickly, his head hurting as it hit the cold floor.
“Lil?”
“Why are you still here?” she asked, not being able to take her eyes of the bruises and dried blood over his body.
“Couldn’t go home.”
“Well I’m going to work.”
“Please Lil,” he begged, trying to reach for her hand.
Lilly ignored him and made her way to her car. She didn’t look back, not able to look at Scotty in his condition.
Scotty didn’t show up for work that day, nor did he ring or message her once.
“Where’s Scotty?” asked Kat as she saw Lilly sitting alone.
“He’s not well.”
“What’s wrong with him?”
“Don’t know, he’s just really sick.”
Kat nodded, seeing how down Lilly looked.
“You okay?”
“Yeah.” Lilly replied, lightly rubbing her belly under her desk.

When Lilly got home that night, Scotty was sitting on her steps. He had cleaned, now dressed in sweat pants, a t-shirt and his attractive leather jacket.
“Go home!” Lilly ordered as she stuck her key into her door.
The dry blood had disappeared, but the bruises had got worse. Bandages were over both his fists with bandaids and more bandages over his face and arms.
“We need to talk.”
“There’s nothing to talk about Scotty.”
“Please Lil; I can’t sleep unless I’m with you.”
Lilly sighed as she rested her head on her door. Scotty moved closer to her, placing his hands on her waist. His hands moved slowly to her stomach, slowly using his thumb to rub circles over her now big belly.
“Scotty, please, this is too hard.”
“I know, we’ll work it out, I just need to stay with you for now.”
Lilly knew she would have to give in. Slowly she turned around and leaned into his touch. He placed kisses down the side of her neck as hugged him tightly.
As his lips reached her mouth, she quickly turned around, unlocking the door. She stepped in, leaving the door wide open.
Scotty stayed on the couch while she went and got changed. When she came back, she had cream, a wet cloth and more bandages with her. She placed them on the table as she sat down next to him.
“You really don’t know how to look after yourself do you.”
“I need you,” he whispered, rubbing her cheek.
“Don’t think you’re getting off this easy, you were an idiot.”
Scotty didn’t say another word, he leaned back as she took off his jacket and shirt. He sighed and closed his eyes as Lilly took care of his wounds.
When she was finished, Scotty pulled her into his lap. “Sore,” he whispered, running his hands through her hair.
“You want a massage?”
He nodded slightly, turning around as Lilly’s hands found his back.
Before he knew it, he was fast asleep in her arms.

When Scotty did awake, it was very early the next morning. He turned his head around to see Lilly fast asleep. He slowly moved out of her arms and sat up on the couch.
His wounds were still aching and he felt stupid for letting his anger get in the way.
Scotty looked down at Lilly as she slept. A small smile was placed on her lips and her hands rested on her stomach. She was only a few days away from five months and he knew he wanted to know the sex.

“Lilly.”
“Yeah.”
Scotty snuck his head from around the kitchen as he made her breakfast. “I’m not forgiven yet am I?”
“Nope.”
“Okay. When are we gonna find out the sex of the baby.”
“Saturday.”
“What?”
“This Saturday.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“You didn’t ask.”
Scotty rolled his eyes as he went back to making her breakfast.
“You coming into work today?” Lilly asked softly, her eyes fixed on the TV.
“Yes.”

When the couple arrived at work, all eyes were on them. Lilly didn’t hold Scotty’s hand, yet travelled to her desk with her eyes on him.
“Feeling better?” Kat asked, handing him a coffee.
“Yep.”
“What uh, happened to your face?”
“Nothing.”
“You look like you were beaten the poo poo out of.”
“Oh thanks Kat.”
Kat smiled as she patted him on the back. “Don’t worry, I’m sure Lil took care of you.”
Scotty smirked over at Lilly as she glared at him. “She hasn’t yet, but I know she will.”
Lilly didn’t answer, but went back to work.
The whole day she watched Scotty’s every move. Every flinch, every grunt, every scrunch of the face, she saw. She grew worried for him as the pain showed on his face.
Later that day, nearing nightfall, she pulled him into the break room.
“You alright?”
“Fine.”
“You don’t look good.”
“I’m fine, the sores hurt a little, but nothing I can’t handle.”
“Let have a look for them.” Lilly reached out for his hand, but he pulled away.
“Lil, you’ve done worse to me in bed. I’m fine.”
“Scotty you’re not fine!”
“Lil will you leave me alone. God you’re annoying.”
As Scotty went to storm out, Lilly grabbed the nearest glass and through it at the wall next to him. It shattered to the floor, surrounding Scotty.
“What the hell is wrong with you, are you tryin’ to kill me.”
Tears dripped down her face as the baby started to kick. “I want the old you back.”
“What old me?” Scotty lowered his voice, seeing she was clearly unhappy.
“The way we used to be when he first got together.”
Scotty moved closer to and pulled her into an embrace. “We’re having a baby. Things are going to be different.”
“Not this much different. You never hold me anymore, you never tell me I’m sexy, you ignore me, you don’t do anything.”
Lilly’s hormones were obviously raging as her tears became uncontrollable. “Lil, come on. You’re the one who ignores me now.”
“Only ‘cause of what you did to Rob. I’m still angry at you, but before that...you still ignored me.”
“I’m sorry baby. You’re gorgeous, beautiful, sexy, hot, breathtaking, everything a guy could want.”
Lilly looked up slowly with her teary eyes. “Really?”
“Really, why else would I want to marry you?”
“’Cause I let you have sex with me a lot.”
Scotty chuckled as Lilly smiled shyly. “Okay, I admit the sex is pretty hot, but that’s not the reason I want to be with you, you’re perfect Lil, I love you.”
Lilly’s smile grew as she kissed him passionately. “Okay, let’s get dinner.”
Scotty shook his head in disbelief as she travelled out of the room. He couldn’t believe how often her moods changed. She definitely needed to get a hold of her mood swings.

When the day came of the ultrasound, Lilly grew anxious. She changed into a pair of sweat pants and an overly big t-shirt.
“You’re not wearing that there are you?” Scotty asked.
“I don’t care how I look.”
“Lil, you don’t look...presentable.”
“I don’t care what people think, it makes me feel comfortable.”
“Lil, the t-shirt, it ain’t like, the type you can go out in.”
“Why are you trying to force me into something I don’t want to do?”
Scotty sighed as kissed her forehead. “You’re right, sorry. You wear whatever you want, you still look amazing.”
Lilly smiled at his kind compliment. Since she had told him about her missing him calling her sexy, he gave her compliments her every day. She loved every minute of the day with Scotty, always feeling good about herself.
As they arrived at the clinic, they found a seat distant from most people. Scotty rested his hands on her stomach as she looked at the pictures of medical procedures and body parts on the wall.
“That’s what our baby looks like,” she whispered, pointing over to the baby pictures. It showed the size of the baby up to the 9th month.
Scotty smiled as he felt the baby kick. “Think it knows you’re talking about it.”
“Yeah.”
A few minutes later, the doctor came out. Lilly hadn’t told Scotty she had been calling her for tips on how to keep the baby healthy.
“Miss Rush.”
The two hurried over to the room, excited to find out the sex.
“Hello Lilly.”
“Hi Jenna.”
“How are you?”
“Yeah good, kinda nervous.”
“No need to worry, I’m sure things will be going great.”
Scotty helped Lilly onto the table and lifted up her shirt. As Jenna rubbed the jelly onto her stomach Lilly pulled Scotty down.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
As Jenna roamed around her stomach, she decided to make conversation. “So Scotty, what’s going on with your face.”
“Got into a fight with a guy who flirted with Lilly.”
“Oh, maybe you should talk to someone about those anger problems.”
“Nope, there under control.”
Jenna nodded slightly as she started to remove the jelly. “So, would you both like to the sex?”
Lilly looked at Scotty, and seeing him nod, she looked back over at Jenna. “Yes.”
“You’re having a girl.”
Lilly smiled as she felt her eyes water. Scotty pulled her t-shirt down as he hugged her tight.
“Happy?” he asked, rubbing her cheek.
“Yes.”
As the two shared an intimate moment, Jenna pulled out the tape. “Would you like the tape?”
“No thanks.”
“Uh yeah, I would.” Scotty took the tape from her hands and gripped it tightly. “Just in case.”
Lilly nodded and pulled him closer. “We’re having a baby girl.”

Although Scotty had dealt with Rob, the couple didn’t know Rob was seeking revenge.
Scotty was driving Lilly home while she rested on his shoulder. He stopped at a red light, lightly rubbing her stomach.
“Can’t believe it,” she whispered slowly.
Scotty just nodded, as he put his foot on the accelerator.
It all happened slowly; Scotty saw the lights as Lilly turned her head. He slammed on the brakes, the car speeding past him.
“That’s why you don’t drive fast!” Lilly yelled, snuggling into her passenger seat.
“I wasn’t speeding.”
“Just shut up Scotty!”
Neither Lilly nor Scotty knew the driver was Rob. They drove back to Lilly’s place in silence. Lilly felt hurt at Scotty for endangering her life and their baby’s.
When they did arrive home, Lilly quickly got out of the door and speeded inside. Scotty followed short after, having beaten his head against the steering wheel.
He walked through the door, spotting Lilly sitting on the couch.
“You need to get your anger problems sorted out,” she mumbled, pulling her leg up to her chest.
“I don’t have anger problems.”
“Bullpoo poo! Get them sorted out for I kick you out.”
Scotty rolled his eyes as he walked into the kitchen. “Fine, make your own food.”

Dinner time approached and Lilly was extremely hungry. Scotty hadn’t bothered to make her anything, being the cocky self he was.
‘He’s so annoying’ Lilly thought as she searched through the pantry and fridge. She found leftovers from the night before and decided it would have to do.
“Lil,” she heard Scotty call from upstairs.
“What?”
“You comin’ to bed?”
“After I eat dinner, which I have to make.”
Lilly waited for reply, but didn’t receive one. She crawled under the blanket on the couch, and dug into her small container.
When she did finish, she still felt extremely hungry. She quietly walked up to their bedroom, hoping Scotty would make her something.
He was fast asleep, with his hand over his chest.
A smile spread over her face and she quickly covered him with a blanket. She kissed him lightly, and then walked back downstairs.
She was about to pack away the blanket and pillow on the couch, when she heard a knock at the door.
Lilly sighed as she went to open the door.
“Rob what are-“
She was stopped as he reached out for her throat. Lilly tried to scream, but his fist sunk into her mouth. Her kicks to his body didn’t look they were stopping him. He threw her back onto the couch, straddling her. His tongue flickered over eyes that were squeezed shut. Her hands were behind her back, muscular arms stopping her from moving.
“Dumb b*tch, you shouldn’t have rejected me.”
Lilly felt her eyes water and tears ran down her face. She tried to call for Scotty, but Rob’s hand stopped her from doing so.
She watched as her shirt fell to the ground, and as he quickly removed his belt. Lilly started to grow scared, her body was aching, but this didn’t stop her from fighting back.
Rob was clearly too strong, he slapped her across her face, a small whimper not able to be heard.
Lilly started to cry harder, feeling his rough hands over her body.

When Scotty awoke, he turned around his bed, hoping to snuggle up to Lilly. He groaned, not seeing any presence of her. He realised she must have been angry at him for the events that happened the day before, but he was positive he could make it up to her.
As he got ready for work, he knew they would be late if Lilly didn’t hurry up. He walked down the stairs slowly, hoping she wouldn’t yell at him for yesterday.
He spotted her on the couch, the blanket covering her body.
He moved closer, and kneeled down beside her. Two dark bruises covered her cheek, and her eyes. Scotty pulled back, not knowing where they could have come from. He slowly pulled down the blanket, gasping as he saw her body. She was unclothes, her hands tied with bruises running down her arms, stomach and legs.
“Lilly...Lilly, wake up!”
She didn’t respond. Scotty grew worried, checking for a pulse. He sighed when he found it.
“Lilly baby, wake up!”
Slowly her eyes flickered open. She moaned quietly trying to move her hands. Scotty moved to the rope, undoing it quickly.
“Lil, what happened?”
“Scotty...help me.”
“Lil, tell me what happened.”
“Rob.”
Scotty held back his temper, not knowing what else he had done to her, and knowing she would be angry if he left her by herself.
“Come on, we’re fixing you up,” he quickly wrapped the blanket around her and pulled her into his arms. He ran up the stairs and into the bathroom. He held her tight, turning the taps for the bath.
Scotty rubbed her back as she clutched his shoulders. “Do you remember what happened?”
Lilly nodded, keeping her eyes closed.
“You wanna tell me?”
“Later.”
Scotty nodded, continuing to rub her back.
When the water was ready, Scotty let the blanket fall. He slowly placed her into the bath, Lilly flinching a few times. He took a towel, dipped it into the bath, and then squeezed it to let out the excess water.
He removed his clothes as fast as he could, climbing in. He sat in front of her, putting his finger under her chin and lifting it up.
“Stay awake!”
Lilly’s eyes widened as she tried to keep them open. Scotty continued to clean her, Lilly ignoring the pain as she watched Scotty’s hurt eyes.
“Scotty,” she whispered, her hands finding his.
“Yeah.”
“Can you kill him?”
Scotty then realised how much he had hurt her. He dropped the towel and moved closer. “Tell me what he did.”
“It hurt.”
“What he do?”
“I was going to come to bed...then someone was at the door...so I went to get it, but...he pushed me onto the couch...and he slapped me over and over again.”
Scotty rubbed her check as she started to cry. He gently moved to the side of her, and wrapped his arms around her.
“That it?”
“No.”
‘What else.”
“He took of my clothes...and then his,” she slowly travelled off, not wanting to continue.
“And...did he do anything else?”
“I didn’t want him to hurt the baby.”
“Did he rape you?”
By the louder cries that came from Lilly’s mouth, Scotty was positive he had raped her. He hugged her tighter, rubbing her back quicker as she mumbled sorry into his chest.
“It’s not your fault.”
“It is.”
“It’s not, don’t worry, I’ll deal with it.”
“No Scotty, don’t hurt him.”
“Why not, you want him to get away with it?”
“No-o-o, just...I don’t him you to hurt him, and then you might get into trouble for assaulting him.”
“Relax okay, I promise I won’t touch him.”
Lilly snuggled closer into Scotty. He kissed her hair lightly, and then leaned back in the bath.
“What are you going to do?” she asked, closing her eyes.
“We’re gonna go talk to the police.”
Lilly didn’t want to, but she didn’t want him to get away with it. She was sure Scotty would protect her.

Lilly begged Scotty to give her more time before they go to the police. She found hard to face what was going on.
“We need to get this over and done with sooner or later.”
“I know...I just need time, please.”
“Okay, but talk to me if you want to talk about it.”
Lilly smiled, pulled the blanket up to her chin and snuggled unto to Scotty. “You’re the first person I’d come too.”

Scotty knew it was wrong, but when Lilly was fast asleep, he slid out of bed. He threw on bed a t-shirt, followed by jeans and his leather jacket. He grabbed his gun and the spare key, and then quickly made his way to his car.
He knew it was wrong to go see Rob, but he was positive he had it planned out and there was no way of him getting into trouble.
When he arrived, he slowly strolled to Rob’s door. He knocked lightly, hoping not to make a fuss.
Rob opened the door, and quickly tried to shut it again. Scotty stopped him and pulled out his gun. He aimed it at his face, slowly moving inside. Kicking the door shut, he lowered his gun.
“Now look, I know what you did to Lilly. So I’m going to make these easy for you.”
Rob’s eyes were wide and he was shaking. Scotty slid the gun into his jacket and plunged for the man. He wrestled him to the ground, throwing punches to his face.
The more he thought of what happened to Lilly, the more anger Scotty put into his punches. Rob gave up fighting back, closing his eyes as the blows to his head started to build up pressure.
“That’s for hurting her.” Scotty mumbled, punching his jaw.
“That’s for touching her,” he mumbled, kicking between his legs.
“And that’s...for forcing yourself into her,” he mumbled slowly, pushing Rob’s head back onto the ground.
Scotty quickly got off the younger man and stood up. He clenched his fists as he watched Rob struggle to sit up.
“We’re going to the cops, just to let you.” Scotty informed him, moving backwards.
“I’ll sue you for assault.”
“Good luck trying, if I’m correct, this all came from when Lilly fought back.”
“Bullpoo poo, they won’t believe that.” Rob stuttered out, clutching his chest.
“She’s a cop, she’s had self defence training, and they’ll believe it.”
Scotty smirked with his cocky eyes and slowly walked out the door. He got into the car and started to cry. He had never wanted to see Lilly hurt, let along to know she had been hurt by someone other than him. To know what Rob had done to her made his blood boil. He started up the car and sped off into the dark.

When Lilly awoke the next morning, she felt refreshed and carefree. She rolled over in bed to see Scotty missing. The smell in the air told her he was definitely wiping up something in the kitchen.
She got out of bed and looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing tracksuit pants and a long sleeved top. She couldn’t remember the last time she had slept in the same bed with Scotty without his shirt on.
She shrugged and moved down to the kitchen. “What cha making?”
“Breakfast.”
“And that is?”
“Well, I made some cookies, and now I’m making some omelettes.”
“Sounds yum,” she replied, walking into the kitchen. She cuddled up with a blanket, slowly rubbing her sore belly.
Scotty knew it would be a long time before Lilly would be the same, but he was determined to make sure she would stay on track.
In no time he placed a plate in front of Lilly. She dug in, Scotty watching her as she stuffed the food into her mouth.
He watched as she flinched when she opened her mouth, how her legs were tucked unto her chest and how her hands quivered when she picked up a cookie.
He felt her heart break as he watched her struggle.
Once Lilly had finished eating, he took the plate into the kitchen then came back for her. “You wanna go down to the station now?”
Lilly nodded and reached out for his hand. He helped her upstairs, and then picked out easy fitting clothes for her. He went to reach for her top when she stumbled backwards.
“What are you doing?” she whispered, her hands embracing herself.
“Helping you get changed.”
“I can do it myself.”
“Okay,” he whispered, passing her the clothes.
Lilly stood there glaring at him, not moving once.
“What?” he asked, feeling awkward.
“If you want me to get changed, get out.”
Scotty then realised what Rob did to her had really taken affect to her. She wouldn’t let him touch her, see her without any clothes on, or even let him see her with a tank top on.
