When Scotty returned with the pregnancy tests, Lilly hurried after him. She snatched the test and ran into the bathroom. Scotty waited in the bedroom, switching different positions on the bed. “Lil?” It had been 10 minutes and he only brought 4 tests, hoping that they would get the right answers with no deception. “Lil you okay?” Scotty walked up to the door and knocked lightly. When she didn’t answer, he entered. Lilly was sitting on the bath with the four tests sitting on the counter. He moved closer and peaked at the test. 1 read negative, the other 3 positive. Lilly slowly lifted her head and bit her bottom lift. “I guess it’s...positive.” Scotty smiled as he moved closer to her. He lent down and lifted her up, Lilly wrapping her legs around his waist. “We’re having a baby,” he whispered, Lilly’s tears of joy forcing him to let out a sigh. **
Later that day Lilly was watching TV while Scotty made her something to eat. She felt her cravings already appearing as she asked him to add melted chocolate into the sandwich. “There you go.” Lilly looked up and took the sandwich from Scotty. She almost swallowed it one bite while Scotty looked on repulsed. Finishing her sandwich, she placed it on the table and snuggled up to Scotty. He gently rubbed her thin stomach, hoping that there would be some sign of the child she was now carrying. Lilly looked up and smiled at him. “This means our sex life won’t be so....constant.” “Constant?” Lilly squinted her eyes, searching for the right word. “Well, we won’t be doing it as often.” “Who says that?” “Who wants to make love to a woman with a huge stomach?” Scotty chuckled, realising how much she would envy her old body when she was well into her pregnancy. “Well me, there’s something so sexy about a women who’s petite and has this big belly that has your child growing in it.” Lilly rolled her eyes and glared at him. “Don’t tease me Valens.” “I’m not, I like that, and it’s stimulating.”
Lilly let her eyebrows lower as she felt a smile coming on. She sat on her knees and leant over for a passionate kiss. Scotty slid his arm down her body, letting it rest on the small of her back. Lilly pushed him back onto the couch as she straddled him. She undid the buttons on his top and let it fall to the floor. Scotty slid his hands down lower, finally resting them on her ass. “I love you,” he whispered, his mouth finding her collar bone. Lilly took no notice, expecting it to be in the heat of the moment. Little did she know it was what he was feeling in his heart from the day he met her. Scotty quickly grabbed her hips and flipped her under him. This gave him full control, taking time on her torso. Lilly grew impatient and reached for his belt. “I need you,” she whispered, Scotty also unable to hold back any longer. ** On Monday, Lilly walked into work feeling better than she had the past few days. Scotty awoke early in the morning, looking after her as she threw he guts up. He left as she headed for the shower. As she approached her desk, she noticed a bunch of mixed flowers resting on her desk. She held back a smile as she reached for the note.
It read: Lil, I miss you already. Tonight at my place, I have a surprise. xx Scotty Lilly quickly slid the note into her pocket, knowing that anyone reading it would risk her job. “Who’s the guy?” Kat asked, walking straight over to Lilly’s desk. “I don’t know.” ‘Where’s the note?” Scotty asked, the look in his eyes showing no emotion. “There isn’t one.” Kat looked up surprisingly and sighed, “I wish someone would send me flowers,” she whispered, sipping form her coffee. “I’m sure Bell has other ways to make it up to.” Lilly chuckled when she realised how dirty Kat took her comment. An hour later, Lilly met up with Scotty in the storage room, Scotty’s lips going straight to hers. “Stop,” she whispered, pushing him away lightly. “What?” “Did anyone see you put the flowers on my desk?” “Lil, how dumb do you think I am. I got some other guy to do it for me, and no, no one saw him, I got here early.” Lilly bit her lips and nodded slowly. “What’s the surprise?” “Ah, don’t think I’m going to give it away.” “Please,” she begged, her hands travelling for his collar. “Nope.” Lilly let go of her grip on his collar and stepped back. “Piss off.” “Excuse me?” Scotty mumbled, Lilly’s sudden mood swing surprising him. “I said piss off.” “Why?” “’Cause, you’re annoying me.” Scotty groaned as he stepped closer. He pulled her into a small embrace, sliding his hand between their bodies to rub her stomach. “You need to control your mood swings.” “I can’t help it,” she mumbled, her head resting on Scotty’s shoulder. “I know, just try harder.” A few minutes later, Lilly pulled away. She gently straightened out his clothes, and then did the same to herself. “I need to get back to work.” Scotty nodded as he pulled a box from its shelf. *************************************************************************************

That night Lilly tried hard to find something nice to wear. She was about to decide on a pair of jeans and tank top when she thought it would be too casual. She through every piece of clothing out of her wardrobe and drawers, trying to find something appropriate.
Finally, after hours of searching, she settled on a pair of jeans and a fancy tank top. She quickly added a touch of mascara and a little bit of lipstick and off she went. Scotty instantly smiled when he opened the door Lilly. “Hey,” he whispered, his eyes travelling over her body.
Lilly succeeded in holding back a laugh at Scotty’s dirty thoughts. “Hi.” “You look...great.”
Lilly smiled and stepped forward. Scotty stepped backwards, leaving Lilly space to walk forward. Lilly noticed the two cardboard boxes which took up the space on his mat and the white bags overflowed. “What are they?” Lilly asked, looking up at school. “Something little I thought you might appreciate.” Scotty stepped behind Lilly and wrapped his arms around her waist. “I know it’s early, but I couldn’t help myself.” Lilly bit her lip as she pulled Scotty towards the boxes. Scotty sat down as Lilly run her around over the box. Lilly lifted the cardboard lids and smiled. “A bassinet?” “Yeah, thought you might need it.” Lilly giggled realising Scotty had already set it up for her. She ripped the sides of the box, letting the covering disappear. “Open the other one,” Scotty demanded. “Relax.” Lilly walked over to the other box, searching for a lid. “Oh uh...you have to lift the box up, it was too big put inside.” Lilly nodded and slowly removed the box. There lay a yellow change table. Lilly smiled and ran her hands through her hair. “Scotty-“ Scotty quickly stopped her, “Before you say anything, I just wanted to help, I don’t know how you will react, I just saw it and thought I had to get it.” Lilly shook her head and embraced Scotty. “I’m not angry, I’m excited.” “Yeah?” “Yeah, I didn’t know if you were going to help, but I guess I got that answer tonight.” Scotty leant down and kissed Lilly tenderly on her lips. “Open the bags.” Lilly nodded and sat down on the couch. There were 4 bags, two with pick material hanging out the top. Lilly reached for the nearest bag and pulled out everything in it. She went through every piece in the bag, smiling at the baby clothes. Two of the bags were clothes for a baby boy, and the other two for a baby girl. “You got both.” Lilly whispered, resting all the clothes on top of the boxes. “Yeah, just in case you get either one. But I stacked up on girl’s clothes.” “Why?” “’Cause I know you want a girl.” Lilly smiled and jumped into Scotty’s lap. She kissed him passionately and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Thanks,” she mumbled, her lips travelling to his neck. Lilly had Scotty half naked when she remembered the night he told her he loved her. Her lips stopped and Scotty groaned. He ran his hands through her hair, begging her to not stop. “Scotty,” she whispered, pushing his hands behind his head. “Mmm.” “You remember the night you told me you loved me?” Scotty’s eyes flashed open and his head snapped up. “Why?” “You remember yeah?” Lilly asked, letting go of Scotty’s hands.” “Of course.” “Did you mean it?” Scotty hesitated, not knowing were this conversations was leading. “Yes.” “You love me?” Lilly asked, her eyes watering. “Lil, look okay, I don’t want it getting in the way of us, it’s just how I feel.” Lilly’s tears rolled down her face, her lips quivering. “It doesn’t get in the way.” “Good. Now uh...let’s get back to...” Scotty trailed off, his lips finding hers. Lilly pulled back, tears still falling down her face. “I love you too.” Scotty’s eyes widened, his lips turning into a smile. “Yeah?” “Yeah.” Scotty lifted Lilly up, spinning her around. He laid her down on the couch, kissing all of the skin that was showing. Lilly giggled, her hands pulling him closer. “I love you, I love, I love you,” she screamed at the top of her lungs *************************************************************************************

Two months into Lilly’s pregnancy, she was starting to show. “You look good.” Scotty whispered, looking into the mirror. Staring back at him was Lilly rubbing her belly. “You think?” “Yeah, just can’t wait till they start kicking.”
Lilly smiled and let her shirt drop down over her belly. She had no clue how she could hid this from her work colleges and worse, her relationship with Scotty.
When Lilly walked into the department, Scotty was in the break room with the rest of the squad and on her desk laid flowers. Scotty had been sending them to her each day, everyone still oblivious to who her admirer was.
Lilly quickly searched for a card, saddened when she couldn’t find one. She straightened, trying to hid her small bump and started for the break room. “Morning Lil,” the squad mumbled at the same time. “Morning.” Over the past 2 months, Lilly had gone off coffee, throwing it in the bin when no one was looking so they wouldn’t be suspicious. “Coffer?” Nick asked. “Nope, had one earlier.” Nick nodded and handed the coffee to Kat. Stillman started once everyone was comfortable, “New case, Janette Bartell. Raped and shot to death in her room in 2000.” “Robbery gone wrong?” Miller said in one breath, her coffee burning her throat. “This one looks personal. Rose pedals were scattered over the bed, doer never found.” “Ex boyfriend.” Lilly suggested, moving closer to the box Stillman was holding. “Pretty girl.” “Yeah, 25. Family knew nothing, she had a fiancé, and he said she had been distant for a few weeks, but 2 days before her murder, she was really needy.” “Well, I think we should go have a talk with him.” Lilly suggested, snatching the folder, taking Scotty’s arm and leading him out. The rest of the squad watched as Lilly pulled Scotty along. “What’s going on with them?” Will asked, looking closely at the two partners. “I don’t even want to know.” Miller tipped her coffee down the sink and pushed the glass into Nick’s chest. “Learn how to make coffee!” “What?” Kat sighed as she left the break room. **
Scotty followed Lilly to the car suspiciously, watching the way her hips moved as she walked rapidly to the car. “Stop looking at my ass.” Lilly hushed, opening her car door. “Sorry.”
Once in the car, Lilly pulled Scotty’s hands onto her bump. Scotty smiled, rubbing her belly as she let her head rest on the seat. “You okay?” “Head hurts.” “Aw,” he moaned, placing kisses down the column of her neck.
Lilly let his head tight as his lips worked magic over her very sensitive skin. “Stop,” she groaned, fearing someone may have been watching. Scotty took no notice and continued to caress her. “Stop!” Lilly moaned louder, pushing his head away. Scotty realised she was serious and sat back in his seat. Lilly put the keys in the ignition and started up the car. ** “Billy.” Lilly said, sitting down on the couch. Billy looked around 35 and dark eyes that shined with deep hurt. “Yes.” “Can you tell me where you were the night Janette was murdered?” “I was out, working.” “Can anyone back you up?” “My boss, I was helping him out with some work. I rang Janette, told her I needed to work late, she didn’t mind.” “Where you having any friends over that night?” Scotty asked his eyes’ travelling to the man’s wounded ones. “No, she told me she wouldn’t stay up, besides we never had many friends." “Why not?” “We weren’t the type to mingle.” “Why is that?” Lilly asked, her eyes scanning the room. The shelves filled with photo frames of Janette and Billy. “Janette didn’t like the people in our area. They weren’t used to a woman running the community things around here.” Lilly was interrupted by the ringing of her phone. “Excuse me,” she whispered. Scotty didn’t take notice, guessing it was Stillman. “Rush?” “Lilly.” “Uh yes, who is this?” “Rob.” Lilly cursed breathlessly, her hand travelling to her hair. “What do you want?” “I know we started off on bad terms, but I really like you.” “Well I don’t like you.” “I know that, I just hoped you’d give me one more chance.” Lilly groaned, resting against the wall. “Why should I?” “I acted like a jerk. I just thought you liked guys that were you know...tough, wanted to make a good impression. But now I realise you don’t like that, so I was hoping for one more chance, if I ruin that, then I won’t bother you anymore.” Lilly bit her lip, her eyes spotting Scotty walking over to her. “Call me later,” she whispered, quickly shutting the phone. “Who was it?” Scotty asked, ushering her outside. “Will, asked how we were going.” “Okay, well Billy remembered a guy hanging around the house 10 months before her murderer. Her ex-boyfriend really wanted her back.” “10 months?” “At least it’s a lead; I think we should check it out.” *******************************************************************************

Later that night, Lilly was lying in bed with Scotty gently nibbling on her ear. Lilly felt him tug at the strings on her pyjama pants when her phone went off. Scotty groaned rolling over for the phone, not realising it was Lilly’s and not his. “Valens.” Scotty waited for an answer, no one said a word. “Hello?” Lilly looked over hoping Rob was not on the other line. “Hello.” Scotty grumbled, finally hanging up. “Who was it?” “Don’t know, wouldn’t talk.” Lilly nodded, pulling Scotty back down to her neck. ** Walking into work was hard for Lilly. She hoped Rob wouldn’t realise that Scotty was at her house last night. She shook away the thoughts, positive it wasn’t Rob who called last night. Lilly sat down at her desk, sniffing the mixed flowers on the desk. She noticed a card sitting on the side. She gently lifted it out, slowly opening it. It read: Lil, Can’t wait for the little one You look so damn sexy with the belly. Better think of a story when people notice. xx ScottyLilly slid the card into her pocket, rubbing her swollen belly. She was definitely starting to show and she didn’t have any plans to cover up the baby she was carrying, especially the part about it being Scotty’s. She looked around for Scotty. He was in the break room making coffee. She stood up; making sure no one was around and hurried for the break room. “Did anyone read the note?” she asked, looking into the fridge. “Nope, made sure of it.” Lilly nodded, reaching for a piece of ham. Her phone rang, interrupting her and making her drop her ham. She cursed herself, slowly reaching for her cell. “Rush.” “Hi Lilly.” Lilly hid a groan, smiling over at Scotty. “Hi.” “How are you?” Lilly hesitated, Scotty’s suspicious eyes stopping her from telling him it was Rob. She pushed the phone into her shirt, whispering to Scotty, “Source, thinks he might have some info.” Scotty nodded as Lilly strolled out of the break room. “Never better.” “Who answered the phone last night?” Rob asked, his voice deepening. “My partner.” “Wasn’t it a little late for your phone to be in his reach.” “Where are you getting at?” “Just asking.” Lilly sat down at her desk, lifting her legs onto the desk. “Are you suggesting me and my partner are having inappropriate relations?” “Well no, I just wanted to know why he answered your phone.” Lilly hesitated, realising she hadn’t formed a cover story. “We were following a lead,” she blurted out, scrunching up her face. “Oh okay.” “Yep.” “So what are you doing tonight?” Lilly looked over at Scotty. He was leaning against the fridge, smiling over at Lilly. Lilly winked at him, and then turned her face away from his sight. “Why are you asking?” “I was wondering if you wanted to meet up.” “No thanks.” “Come on Lilly, don’t you want me?” Lilly chuckled, the sight of Rob with her making her repulsed. “No, I don’t.” “You want your partner?” Lilly blinked in surprise, sick of him bringing up Scotty. “Oh yeah Rob, I wanna do Scotty so bad.” Even though this was reality, the sarcasm in voice made this seem utterly stupid. “Funny, come on, don’t you wanna get laid.” “No. I’m already getting laid thank you very much.” “Oh, who?” “I’ll leave that to your very creative imagination.” Lilly smiled and hung up before Scotty walked over. “Got anything?” he asked, placing his coffee on her desk and leaning against it. Lilly nodded her head no before running to the bathroom. “poo poo.” Scotty mumbled, realising the coffee set off her stomach. “What’s the poo poo for?” Nick asked, taking the coffee from his hands. “Uh, coffee’s hot.” Nick took a quick sip of the coffee and looked over at Scotty. “Baby, if anything it’s cold.” ******************************************************************************

Scotty and Lilly were driving over to see a suspect when Scotty pulled over into a gas station. “We don’t need gas.” Lilly whispered, her hand never leaving her stomach. “We need a cover story, when people start noticing.” “Oh.” “And I’ve got nothing, you’re gonna get bigger, so I guess you’ll have to tell them somehow.”
Lilly nodded, knowing that by her third month, she would definitely be showing a lot more than she already was. “So how about you admit your pregnant when you get bigger, saying it happened from a one night stand, but for now just say you packed on the pounds.”
Lilly looked up hurt, but the hurt turned into a glare. “I don’t have one night stands! And I am not saying I packed on the pounds.” Scotty sighed, knowing he said the wrong thing. “Sorry, just trying to think of something we can say.”
Lilly leant over and placed her head on Scotty’s shoulder. She pulled his hand to her belly, and gently moved his hand around her bump. She let her hand go, is hand still rubbing her belly. “Our sex life better now die down,” she mumbled, her eyes closing. Scotty chuckled, his other hand resting on her thigh. “Trust me, it won’t.” **
When the couple returned, they went straight to work. Lilly avoided Scotty’s eyes, knowing if she looked into them, she’d either not be able to control herself, or her smile would definitely bring up suspicions. A few minutes later, Lilly stood up. “Where you going?” she heard a voice ask. She turned around her eyes spotting Nick. “Bathroom.” As soon as she turned, Nick noticed her stomach. “Uh Lil, no offence or anything but uh, you’ve kinda let yourself go.” Lilly turned back, her arms trying to cover her swollen belly. “Excuse me?” “Well your, uh, stomach. You know, it’s bigger.” “What’s wrong with a couple of pounds?” “Nothing, I just thought you were like, a skinny fanatic.” “Me?” “Well yeah, you went really thin on us. It had us worried.” “Well I put on a few pounds okay, I can’t stay thin forever.” “I didn’t say you could, but you look good. You face is kinda chubbier, and you’re not so skinny looking.”
One of Lilly’s eyebrows lifted, realising that her co-workers talked a lot about her appearance. “Chubby?” “Yeah, it’s cute.” Nick whispered, taking a sip of his coffee. “Thanks, and since when did you all talk about my appearance?” Lilly asked, her eyes landing on Scotty. “We don’t.” Scotty blurted out. “Just sometimes.” Lilly looked closer at Scotty, wondering what he thought about her before the trip at Sea Side Beach.
Before Lilly could answer, her bladder urged for her to move. She turned around and quickly ran out the room. ** “Since when did you talk about my looks?” Lilly asked, shifting in the passenger seat.
Scotty was driving like a maniac, which he hadn’t done for a while. This caused Lilly to grow angrier, on top of her boyfriend discussing her looks in the past; he also had no interest in the likely death of both of them if they crashed. When he didn’t answer, Lilly grew angrier. “Slow down before I lose it.” Scotty quickly slowed down, the car almost stopping. “Thanks, now, can you please tell me when and why you have discussed my appearance with the people I work with...and may I remind you I have worked them a lot longer than you.” Scotty sighed, his head turning to window on his side. “The guys ask me sometimes what I think about you. I think they do it because they think I have the hots for you.” “Do you?” Scotty looked over, a smile appearing on his face. “Well I’m with you ain’t I?” “I mean did you use to.” Scotty turned around again, hiding his blush from Lilly. “I guess.” “Did you tell them that?” “No, how dumb do you think I am, if I told them, they’d tell you almost immediately.” Lilly smiled, the realisation of what he just said hitting her.
Lilly went silent, wondering what would have happened if she knew he had feelings for her earlier on in their partnership. “So, how long have you had the hots for me?” Lilly asked, hoping she hadn’t pushed it. “Since the day I met you.” Lilly smiled, jumping up and down inside. “Me too,” she whispered, giggling slightly when Scotty tossed her a casual smile. “I knew it,” he whispered, his hand tangling in hers. ***********************************************************************************

“Lil doesn’t put on that much weight just like that.” Nick mumbled, clicking his fingers. Kat, Nick and Will were huddled in the break room going over Lilly’s new shape and attitude. “And she’s been real happy.” Kat sat down, rubbing her forehead. “I know it’s got something to do with Scotty.” Nick didn’t want to give anything away, but he wanted people to know the effect Scotty was having on her. “We shouldn’t get involved, it’s their business.” Will whispered, walking towards the door. All three stopped when Scotty walked. “Mornin’.” “Morning,” they whispered in sync. Scotty stopped, looking up suspiciously at each person in the room. “What’s going on?” “Nothing.” “Come on, since when do you leave me outta gossip.” “Since now.” Kat laughed, standing up. “Fine, I’ll just go ask Lil.” “Don’t bother.” Nick said, taking a sip form his coffee. “She doesn’t know a thing.” Scotty sighed, knowing where this was conversation was going. “It’s about Lil?” “Maybe.” “Come on guys, just ‘cause I’m her partner don’t mean I don’t wanna hear what people are saying about her.” Kat sighed, knowing someone would tell him one way or another. “Lil’s kinda, well I think she’s a got a new man.” “Oh yeah, who?” “Well, she’s always getting those flowers, so I reckon, she’s found out who he was and hit off with him.” “Good theory,” he mumbled, not letting on the flowers were from him. “And, well she’s put on a few pounds, so maybe she’s...pregnant.” Scotty showed no emotion, hoping no one suspected anything of him. “I don’t think so.” “Well why not?” Nick asked sarcastically. “Lil ain’t that dumb. If she’s just met him, she wouldn’t even risk a chance of that happenin’.” “But what if she’s known him for a real long time?” Scotty glared at Nick, not wanting anyone to think he was the father of Lilly’s unborn baby. “Who knows, but if she finds out your talking behind her back, she’ll kill you all. Talk to her yourself if you want to know anything.”
Scotty quickly poured himself a quick coffee and walked out. As he walked out, he spotted Lilly walking towards her desk.
As he sat down, she smelled the flowers. She searched for a note, Scotty noticing the frown when she didn’t locate one. “Don’t worry,” he whispered quietly, not looking up. “We’ll talk later.”
Lilly sat down, looking down at her belly. She already felt love for it. She hadn’t wanted a baby, thinking she would be a horrible mother. But the feelings she already felt had changed her whole opinion. She craved for it now, wanting to hold it close and sing to it. She looked up at Scotty, smiling as he looked up at her. He looked around, making sure no was watching, and winked at her seductively.
Lilly let it slid, seeing no one around. Little did she know Will was watching from the break room, smiling at the soft smiles and seductive winks they shared. He also didn’t fail to see the way she caressed her belly. Two members on the team now knew, and no one knew how long it would take for everyone to find out, including Stillman. ** Scotty and Lilly were both in the store room, going over a file. Lilly kept sneaking looks at Scotty, wanting him to hold her close. “Lil?” “Yep.” “You want something from me?” “Nope.” Lilly looked back down, leaving Scotty to stand up and walk over to her. He stood behind her, got down on his knees and wrapped his arms around her waist. “How’s the baby?” Lilly lent back in his arms, moaning when his hands touched her stomach. “I want her already.” “Her?” “Well it. But it would be nice for a mini me.” “That would be cute. A blonde girl, with pigtails and big blue eyes. In a school outfit, with those long legs and short, short skirt.” Lilly smiled, remembering the exact night she wore that special outfit. “If I remember right, you just explained me exactly.” “Maybe I did.” “Scotty, if you except to see our daughter like that, I suggest you get out of my house.” Scotty chuckled, lying down on the floor and pulling her on top of him. “Nope, only imagine you like that.” “So you remember that night huh?” “How could I forget, you reminded me of some little school kid desperate to lose herself, and guess what?” “What?” “She wanted me.” Lilly laughed, turning in his arms. “Better not step out on me with a school kid.” “No chance, only want you. But you do look pretty sexy with those two pigtails.” Lilly smiled kissing him lightly on his firm lips. “Well if you’re lucky, you might get to see more tonight.” ** Scotty collapsed onto the bed, his heart racing. “Damn I love you.” Lilly smiled, pushing his sweaty hair back. “I’m glad.” “Now we need to talk.” Scotty groaned, his hand rubbing her thigh. “Later.” “No now!” Lilly sat up, slipping his shirt over her head. “Lil please.” “No, wait till the morning.” “Mmm, before work? Sexy.” Lilly smiled, holding onto his hands. “What’s so sexy about that?” “It’s risky; they might know I’m getting laid.” “They know I am.” Scotty looked up confused. “Come on Scotty, I know what people are saying about me.” “Lil-“ She cut him off, letting her finger slip into his mouth. “You don’t have to tell me. I just don’t want you to say anything about me. Listening to it is one thing, telling them my personal issues is another.” “I didn’t say anything,” he mumbled, his tongue slipping around her finger. “I know, you can say little things. But not things like giving it away. I know people are saying I’m pregnant, I don’t mind, as long as you don’t give it away.” Scotty nodded, gently sucking her finger. “You’re so desperate.” Scotty smiled, sucking harder. “Please?” Lilly groaned, jumping on top of him. “Fine nothing in the morning.” “You won’t hold me to that.” Lilly smiled for what felt like the millionth time that day. “I know.” **********************************************************************************

********************************************************************************** Lilly awoke to her alarm clock. She reached over to turn it off, but was stopped when Scotty grabbed a hold of her hand. He placed it on the back of her neck, and turned off the alarm clock. “Thanks.” Lilly whispered, wrapping her other hand around his neck. Scotty rolled over, pulling her on top of him. He gently rubbed her belly, kissing her as he went along. “So uh, last night, you said...” Scotty trailed off, his sheepish look showing Lilly he really needed her. Lilly giggled, letting the doona fall, leaving her naked. ** “Lil?” Scotty waited outside the bathroom, banging on the door. “Come on, let me in.” Slowly the door squeaked open; Scotty stepped in, pulling Lilly close. “Bad today huh?” Lilly nodded, moving towards the toilet. “Maybe you should go already,” she suggested her stomach paining. “No, I wanna stay here with you.” Lilly gave up, her head starting to pain also. Scotty wrapped his hands around her waist, sitting down next to her. “I’m not going to work.” Scotty stared deeply into her eyes. Her morning sickness must have been pretty bad, Scotty could not remember one day where something forced her to stay home. Excluding Joseph, Lilly never let anything stop of her from doing her job. “You sure?” “It’s too bad Scotty.” Lilly’s eyes started to water, a few tear drops rolling down her cheeks. “I don’t want anyone seeing me like this.” Scotty nodded, rubbing her stomach lightly. “If they ask were you are I’ll say you’re sick?” “No, don’t say anything. Around 10 I’ll call you and tell you to tell everyone I’m sick.” Scotty didn’t answer, knowing his suggestion was unwise. A few minutes later, Lilly lent forward, pulling herself up. Scotty followed, reaching out for in case she fell. “Go, I’m going to get some rest.” Scotty nodded, helping her into bed. Once she was settled, he kissed her on the forehead and left. ** When Scotty arrived at work, the team were gathered in Stillman’s office. Scotty set his things down on his desk and made his way to the office. “You’re late.” Nick said, his head not looking up from the file he was reading. “Sorry, car troubles.” “You know where Lil is?” Stillman asked. “Nope.” “Okay, well new case. Ian Burnett, his remains were found earlier, when you weren’t here.” Stillman went on, passing the file to Scotty. “1959, we’re getting an autopsy down now.” “Okay, well who should we visit first?” Before any could answer, Scotty’s phone went off. It was not even close to 10, Scotty knowing Lilly was ringing earlier than expected. “Valens.” “Scotty.” “Oh hi Lil, everything okay?” “Just act like I’m talking. I need your help.” “Oh ok.” “I need you to come over as quick as you can, I don’t feel good.” “Need anything?” “I want you to take me to the doctor’s okay; I don’t think it’s supposed to be like this.” “Well I hope you feel better.” “I think I might pass out, so do what you can and get over here please.” Scotty heard the pain in her voice, he needed to get over there now. “Okay bye.” Scotty hung up, placing his phone in his pocket. “Lil ain’t comin’ in today, she ain’t feeling well.” “I told you something was going on.” Kat muttered, glaring at Nick. “She’s just sick.” Scotty explained, flipping through the file. “Lil’s never sick!” “Leave her alone.” Stillman interrupted, his voice firm. “Maybe she’s having a bad day. Get back to work.” They all nodded, moving to leave the room. “Scotty, you stay behind.” Scotty cursed himself, hoping he hadn’t led anything on. Once everyone was gone, Stillman removed his glasses. “I want you to go check on Lil.” “She said she just needs some rest. But I’ll go see.” Scotty turned around, desperate to leave. “And Scotty.” He turned back around, looking into the man’s eyes. “Whatever’s going on, it’s working. I haven’t seen her more happy since I have met her. And congratulations.” “Um boss, I don’t understand.” “I think nearly everyone knows. But, as long as it doesn’t interfere with anything, I don’t mind.” Scotty nodded, looking at the floor. “And congratulations, Lilly deserves to be a mother.” Scotty looked up, his eyes widening. “Now go make sure she’s okay. Stress isn’t good for the baby.” Stillman smiled as Scotty left. It was obvious he was extremely happy for Lilly. ** “Lil I’m here.” No answer. Scotty ran up the stairs, pushing the door to her bedroom open. Lilly lay on the floor, her hand clutching her stomach. “Lil?” She didn’t answer, worrying Scotty. He moved forward, leaning down. She had a pulse, but she was unconscious. Scotty lifted her up into his arms, grabbing his keys as he left the house.
He drove as fast he could, making every light on the way to the hospital. Lilly lay lifeless in his arms while he struggled to keep her head up. Once he arrived at the hospital, he lifted Lilly out and ran into the hospital. “Can I help you sir?” he heard some ask as he turned a corner in the hospital. “Sir, you can’t go in there.” Scotty ignored, the woman, searching for a doctor. As he turned the corner, Scotty ran into a man in a white coat. “Please you need to help me.” Scotty begged, pushing him backwards. “My girlfriend, she’s pregnant and I came home and I-i-i came home and she was unconscious and on the floor when I-i-i came home.” Scotty stuttered, repeating himself many times. The doctor checked for her pulse, then pulled Lilly from his arms. He walked around the corner, Scotty doing the same. The doctor called out a name, Scotty not hearing. He was distracted as he stared at Lilly. Before he knew it, Lilly was being placed on a stretcher. “Will she be okay?” “What’s your name sir?” The doctor asked, ushering another doctor into a room. “Scotty...Valens.” “Scotty, I need you to have a seat over there, we’ll make sure your wife is stable and you may be able to take her home later.” Scotty nodded, not correcting him about her being his wife. As he sat down, he felt his heart race. He couldn’t lose her, nor the baby. ***********************************************************************************

Oh no, I hope Lilly and the baby will be okay? I relly like the scene with Stillman and Scotty. I knew Stillman knows, there is nothing what he don't know.
