I want to start by saying that this episode was excellent! The case was great. Great story, great casting and everything. Though I'm sad to say my pookie Vera wasn't here. Now on to to Miller's leaving. I knew that was gonna happen. When they showed the clip from last season with Stillman and the Police Commisioner on the season premire, I had the feeling that Miller, Vera and Jeffries may get in somehow, and when I read Tracie Thoms's blog saying that wasn't gonna be in some episodes this season, my feeling that it was gonna be her in particular. But when the Commisioner(Can remember the bastard's name) address Miller in Stillman's office, I knew she was in trouble. My curiousity is who let her go, Stillman or the Commisioner? And how will everyone else act next week?

Oh yeah. Lily & Saccardo. I can't forgot post about them. lol. Saccardo in boxers? ;D Seems like they've having their secret meeting for a while now. It's good to see Lily have her fun and they seem to actually care about each other. Wonder what Eddie's gonna do to try and help Lily. Anyways, it was good to see Eddie again.
Scotty. If the world was under an alien attack, he'd find a way to make it his problem. lol. But this was a good case and he was amazing in it. It shows that he's very compasionate but he also has a lot of regrets in his life.

I have to say I loved this episode The Lilly/ Saccardo thing I love. (I do wish Lil' and Scotty would end up together though) I love how she is hungry Kat leaving I almost threw my remote across the room. I was SO angry!! Scotty was so compassionate in this episode I really like the way he acted. And lil' backing out on her dad for like the 5th time. They are really setting it up for the coming weeks episodes i hope I hate that Commissioner ERRGGG I want to rip his ungrateful head off his body!!!!!!!

Great episode all around. You knew Kat would be leaving at some point.. Tracie Thoms ever said so in her blog.... as for the Deputy Commissioner... he'll end up getting his at some point.... just a matter of time.

I just voted for OK. 1. You can see that CC now has a low budget. Sad 2. CC at 11 pm! It's too late! And they still complain about low ratings? As I said... I think there's a complot against CC (Check the season 7 ratings discussion)3. Simple case. Boring at first, then got exciting. Great twist but I knew all the way who was the killer (just with his face) 4. What was sending Lil thru the mail??? 5. Good message of how crime is a tragic thing & the system does not help us 6. They have a low budget but in the next weeks they're gonna solve a REALLY OLD OLD OLD case... what will be the explanation? Doherty won't be happy with the team working in an old case 7. Alex was really cool 8. I liked the murder scene 9. I hate Doherty 10.Miller is gone and Vera wasn't in this one but there was no explanation for this (Vera absent) 11.I was gonna give a good but Michael was the one who saw ALEX? it had to be Valens! Maybe the writers hate me because I always thought Valens was gonna see Alex! It was logical and no! It was this kid ... Horrible

I will say for Stephen Culp... I could never even be on a show dealing with murder after what's he been through..truly a great actor.

well I gave it good, just because plot of the murder was OK and 'side plot' was excellent Miller - she's a junior detective in the squad, when Doherty said someone has to go I knew it's going to be her (not only because she wrote it on the blog, but because that's what Lieu in real life would do) Doherty - IAB (internal affairs) should do something about him, like check if he knewed about the judge, there should be an investigation about his involvment in the case; I just hope they (writers) will go in that direction Case itself was OK, as I said before; wasn't exciting with some twists; just a kid that got in trouble and the system wasn't perfect (I guess as a person that is involved with the system I know how screwed up it is,that rehab is not primary goal ) so the plot itself was too much of a real life and that's not the reason I wach TV for; Lilly and Eddie - great! perfectly written! I love Lil' in regular t-shirt; her casual-ness is so sexy Vera- wasn't in the episode and I didn't notice it till I read it here in one of the posts (not that he's not needed in CC) but no one mentioned him and no character said anything so I guess I just didn't miss him in this particular episode

If nothing, this episode is based on a true story in PA. Those judges are soon going on trial themselves, where they should be. How can we teach teens to respect the law when those sworn to uphold it are breaking it themselves.

I loved it! Great music, nice case. But I hate Doherty. I REALLY DO. What a piece of poo! I imagine Doherty is going to get his. Especially due to his habit of hanging out with people who are corrupt. You can only do that for so long before you get caught in the web as well.

I voted good on this case myself. Great story, great characters (that Jimmy who taught woodshop was a cop on the second season of a former CBS crime drama I used to watch - "Close To Home" - anyone remember that? , but the show as a while had so many personal things involved with it that it detracted a bit from the case. That corrupt bureau chief, Saccardo, Kat, Scotty and then the case. I did not think it was bad at all, I liked it, it was just a bit hard to follow in my opinion. Plus with the extra late start - that did not help. Ha! But like I have said many times before, we need to take some time to enjoy this season, folks. We helped to make it happen, and it is up to us to get the most out of it. Oh, and Saccardo having that gun drawn on Lilly was not cool! Ha! I know he's undercover and all that - just looking out for Lilly, you know? A gentleman to the end I am. And I really liked the closing song on tonight's ep as well! And no Vera, Kat going away and an angry Stillman.....things are looking a little tough in Philly PD right now......stay tuned, boys and girls!

Better episode than the first two, although in some ways this episode did hit a little close to home. I am one who knows that 'Jurisprudence' can be a complete joke. Here where I live you can actually be tossed in jail, not given a trial until years later, and all for a traffic violation; meanwhile drunk drivers, and vehicular man slaughterers get to go free. (Oh they get their license taken away, but they should be the ones in jail.)
You could tell that this was a very Scotty centric case, which I didn't mind. I felt bad for him, because through out the episode he believed that had he been early, he could have 'saved' Alex (so to speak.) It wasn't until around the end that he realized that even if he was early, the judge would have still sent Alex to Havenherst (sp?) That's when he realized that there was nothing he could have done.
The ending song fit really well with the whole theme, and even though it's not my type of music, I may wind up adding it to my Rhapsody playlist.

I really enjoyed this episode, I liked all the different threads they explained/set up. Miller leaving was a bit of a shocker none the less!
Thought the Lilly and Eddie scenes were done really well, they seem very sweet together. A question: what is it that Lilly says after Saccardo asks where Moe is now? I just can't catch it and I'm not sure what she means...
