Well, this is more like it. “Jurisprudence” was not only the first great episode of the season, it would have been a great episode in ANY season.
Nice sleights of hand throughout. (The opening sequence – a terrific one, by the way – has us so focused on Scotty being late, we fail to notice that the judge is a little too eager to pass sentence. Stillman’s determination to put all his team’s resources behind the case seems at first just willful, commendable bravado; only later do we realize that he sensed a cover-up.) Although I don’t usually care for episodes where just about every interrogation ends with another possible doer being revealed, here the pacing was so taut that I went along with it. And the suspects all had reasons for lying in their initial interrogations, which made the case all the more plausible.
And what a pleasure to see Kathryn Morris having fun again. Her scenes with Cannavale – particularly when we returned from commercial, and her hair was down, and she was staring at the empty fridge – were a breath of fresh air. And in the final montage, when she entered the room in that red top, it was like some kind of event; you know the season so far has been irritatingly monochromatic when a brief glimpse of red is a welcome relief.
My only gripe: the ski lodge was called Jurisprudence? Really? It was nearing midnight when I digested that piece of information, so maybe I got it wrong – but if not, I repeat: the ski lodge was called Jurisprudence? Yah, that’s gonna attract the family crowd: “Mom, can we go to Jurisprudence for the weekend?” (I guess it’s marginally better than calling your ski lodge “Criminal Justice System,” but still...) I suspect their sleds are called Rosebud.

I really enjoyed this episode, I liked all the different threads they explained/set up. Miller leaving was a bit of a shocker none the less! Thought the Lilly and Eddie scenes were done really well, they seem very sweet together. A question: what is it that Lilly says after Saccardo asks where Moe is now? I just can't catch it and I'm not sure what she means... She says " probably trying to get the boot off his car" If you park illegaly in the states they put like a boot type thing on your wheel so you can't drive away and you have to pay a fine i believe to get it off. Thats why lilly was talking to that cop earlier in that episode.

A question: what is it that Lilly says after Saccardo asks where Moe is now? That he's out on bail, and she left something on his car, but it won't stick.

I know they have people close to the victims seeing the ghosts but I really felt Scotty should have been the one to "see" Alex at the end.

I really liked this episode, first off I'm glad that Eddie's back. You can tell that both Lilly and Eddie still love each other.. Kat getting temperarly sent to East, isn't a good thing, plus no Vera. I don't know why Lilly's still avoiding her father, this is like the second or third time that she had cancel having dinner with him.

The best episode for this season by far! Scotty centric and much Lilly/Scotty time!! (Even if I think we will get much of it because of these budget and actors cuts... I was so sad that Vera was missing and I got more when Kat left at the end without further discussions!! Jeffries folows??)
Really good story. Obviously based on an actual case about a judge sending young offenders to certain juvenile centers for profit. (Actually as an idea is pretty "in fashion" these last two years.) But they used it in an intresting way. (However, from the very first moment, with the shot on the pen when the kid signed someone could think that something would happen with this pen or with the fact that the boy was left-handed...)
Finally Saccardo sended the photos! Nice the whole Lil/Ed thing! I'm not a fan of it but it was OK. This with Saccardo with no shirt on pointing the gun to Lil was funny. (However the editing of the scene in bed wasn't good. Just observe the close and the far shots and you'll notice the luck of continuity in both KM and BC's moves...)

The best episode for this season by far! i definatly agree! it was a way better storyline on the whole! still not cc best but a big improvement! i liked that scotty was centered for this one. but OMG at the whole miller thing! i was not expecting that. even though i hate to admit it, Lilly and saccardo were cute together. im just glad we saw Lilly a little bit happier to be honest. they were some great scenes!

I know they have people close to the victims seeing the ghosts but I really felt Scotty should have been the one to "see" Alex at the end. Yes, I said the same thing! These new writers show the ghosts to the wrong people! Lilly was sending something to Moe?

I think the Micheal was really meant to see the victim ( Alex) in this episode, more than the detectives. Alex did look out for Micheal and protected him, so therefore he appeared to him.
Lilly put a boot on Moe's car with a bandaid, or something like that.

er lilly got the cop to put a boot (we call them clamps overhere) on his car so that he couldnt drive it! say if it was illegally parked or something to get back at moe. the band aid refrence was when saccardo asked her if this made her feel better and she said "its a band aid" as in it wont fix the problem forever but it helps for now! it makes her feel better, like shes getting some sort of revenge on him!

it seems that a lot of people are confused about the lilly/eddie/moe convo. Lets see if I can help Lilly earlier in the episode was talking to a cop telling him about moe's car. The lilly shows up at eddies, they do who knows what. He brings up the Moe on bail problem and he asks her, "where do you think he is now" She relpies with "probably trying to get the boot off his car" Saccardo asks if it makes her feel any better. She say it's a band aid. She is saying that it is covering up the wound in a temporary way. She is saying that it makes her feel a little better about the situation I hope this kinda helps anyone out.

Yeah I agree and if people didn't know what the boot thing is for the car then your just so confused. I got a call from my friend in Canada after the episode she was like WHAT??? I don't get it. I spent 20 mins trying to explain it to her. But lets hope people can understand the posts we typed up and they get it a little better

Lilly stuck a boot to his car, as a revenge type-thing, I just rewatched this scene in Closed Caption to understand what was going on.

This is clearly a goof: says that Scotty was in narcotics in 2005, that can't be right; he joined homicide in 2003; he was in narcotics before that year.

yeah thats it! a boot is a clamp that stops the wheel of the car turning so that u cant drive it away! police clamp cars (or put 'boots' on them) when cars are illegally parked!
