OMG I can't believe the turn this story just took at the 30 minute mark.
What a jab at Kat. Must have to do with her part in the movies. I love Stillman and Rush together on a case. Seems to be more of that this season?

Wow Lilly yelling at the suspect wasn't expecting this at all...
The Lt dishonering Coop reminded me of " Disco Inferno" when the father dishonored the soon ( I forgot his name) and then later regretted it. At the church I think when Elieen brought up that she found out that Coop was cheating on her might have reminded her of when Christina slept with Patrick.
The ending Lilly looks at the picture of Coop ,she did that in " Joseph" is this foreshadowing that he in fact might return??
The candles at the church we last saw them in " Santurary" . Lilly and Scotty are standing there in front of it , does this symbolize anything??
One of the things I love about Lilly is that she is very tolerant about everything doesn't pass any judgement about the two cops being gay. Both Kathryn Morris and John Finn did an outstanding job.
Vera brough some comedic life to the show, he was pretty funny walking up to the nurse. The look on Scotty and Kat's face was priceless.
Getting back to when Lilly yelled at the guy for the first time reminded me of S1. But then end when she says about not loosing the person that one loved , there were tears in her eyes and voice. Could this be possible that Lilly still isn't over Joseph and misses being with him??
At last Lilly looks a little pale and worn

OMG I can't believe the turn this story just took at the 30 minute mark. LOL... That caught me by surprise too, Naj! Mebbe "Forever Brokeback Blue" is a more appropriate title? Ahh... Good catch!! ;D

boxman- I was thinking of that Movie while watching this episode. Something struck me about Lilly in this episode, maybe something else went on between her and patrick that meets the eye?? She had an odd face on at the church and the ending??

Being the broken record that I am this season, this one is getting another "excellent" from me. I don't think that I have ever been this far into a season and absolutely treasured every episode (except Lonely Hearts)! What an amazing season! Tonight's gem was no exception. It was one of those CC masterpieces that makes me angry that the show doesn't get more recognition. PS -- how awesome would it be if CBS gives CC the coveted post-Superbowl slot this year?? The rumor is that it's most likely going to a crime drama, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's CC and not WaT (the most likely suspect). Sorry for the sidebar -- back to tonight's wonderful outing. I really liked the way this episode focused on the human interest story of Coop, his relationship with Jimmy and how beng himself got him killed. There were a host of viable suspects that remained suspects throughout, so the actual killer wasn't a surprise per se, but I liked taking the journey into Coop's story much more than anything else anyway. I knew about the twist because of CBS's press release (BOO!), so I wasn't caught off guard like everyone else (and I'm POed about it!). We all know that CC does gay rights/issues like no other show on television, so it was no surprise to see this one done right as well. I love how this show uses time to contrast or in this case, show the similarities between two different eras. The years may have moved forward, but the attitudes of Coop's fellow cops hadn't progressed one bit. What a sad statement about our society. Kat had the night's best line/exchange: Former cop: "Are you a lesbian?" Kat: "Are you a jackass??" She gained so many brownie points for that line. I love her! She and Lil need to get coffee and talk about all of the sexist, ridiculous things that have been said to them over the years. And while they're on their second cup, they can begin to discuss Lil's complicated issues. I loved the Vera sidestory with the boy's mother. I see the beginning of a beautiful relationship starting there, but knowing Vera, he'll probably screw it up. It is cute while it's lasting, though. I also loved the telling emptiness that crossed briefly over Lil's face when she spoke about Jimmy and Coop having something that "comes around once in a lifetime." Reflection? Foreshadowing? Or just plain emptiness? Overall, an excellent episode with a solid case. As always, more thoughts and a few caps at Pass the Remote.

I don't think now that it was foreshadowing about Lilly having re-watched the scene again I think it's just plain emptiness inside. But wait in last episode Lilly was seen walking alone happily was this just a set up by the writers to fool into tricking us all that she had found happiness in herself??

I smell another GLAAD contention. Classic Cold Case Episode. I was intrigued by the cop partner into his wife, then I thought he had a crush on the husband to only seconds later see it as a lover relationship. Triple got me. Archangel Michael got to kill the guy. (Charles Measure of Xena). I gave this an excellent also. Vera was funny when they were back at the station and his tickets and date with a gay guy. Vera: "Two male cops hittin it, A waoh." then Jeffries points out a guy Vera went to a game with who was gay. Vera: "Ray Walsh took me to a Sixer's game." Rush: "Took You?" Notice Rush and Jeffries look. that was one of the funniest scenes. i6.photobucket.com/albums/y239/bestwishes_always/lolLtBlue.gif[/IMG] Oh I notice Lilly always has compassion for these themes while the other detectives make jabs about it.

At the end when Lilly is looking at the picture of Coop I thought of something
In Volunteers she does the same thing staring at it In Joseph looks at the picture then puts it away
could this mean anything, maybe a dark secret from her past ??

michelle- you of all people !! Coming out the church why was Lilly and Scotty walking so closely together, I'm not suggesting anything but maybe their relationship isn't love like Coop and Jimmy but there is something special about the relationship.

Haven't commented on an episode in a while, but wanted to give kudos to this one. Really well done. I'm always "in" when the ep opens with Stillman and Rush on a case together. That team is my favorite (followed closely, now, by Rush/Miller). Best line of Season 4 thus far goes to Kat. LOVED the "lesbian/jackass" line! And the entire Vera sub-plot was too funny. I have enjoyed when the show tries to have more of a comedic tone/banter in some parts. It just lightens the overall mood for a couple of moments, and it shows these characters DO have personality and quirks. It reminds me of the clever Mulder/Scully banter in The X-Files. I'm glad to see CC try to incorporate this into some eps. Visually, this ep was really interesting to watch. I loved the coloring - black/white highlighted with red. And I always love flashbacks to 40s, 50s and 60s. The character of Coop was so strong - truly a stand-up guy, wasn't afraid to be who he was. The twist with this story is something that I thought was really original and clever. I would not be surprised if this one perhaps gets included on the S4 Emmy consideration DVD. I think it's that good, and the subject matter is one CC is not afraid to address - and address really, really well. I have not seen S2's "Best Friends" as yet, but I'll be looking forward to comparing/contrasting this ep to that one (which was an award-winner).

Here I go again......
Maybe someone will notice Kathryn's talent as Lilly and nominate her for an emmy, how many times does she do an outstanding performace and never gets nominated? No one should let that kind of talent of hers go to waste.
Lilly proves again and again that she respects every victim and tries to solve each case no matter the subject. Just because Coop was gay it didn't matter to her, he was still a human being that was trying to protect the ordinary people. Lilly sees the good in all her victims no matter the situtation.

To longislanditalian2...
I deff. agree with you. Her character as Lilly, doesnt judge people. She sses them through skin. She's like optimistic or watever about cases. Like last night for example.
Which was by the way a a very heartwarming story...kind of surprising at the end, But I give it 2 thumbs up!!!

Hi LillyKat, So glad to hear from you. You know I agree with all that you've said about this ep. I also love Stillman and Rush together and I do like Lilly and Kat. I think they should become friends. ;D So maybe Vera has gotten himself a possible girlfriend? Can you imagine Vera being romantic? Also at the end it was now Jeffries and Stillman hanging out together at the bar. Interesting. Haven't commented on an episode in a while, but wanted to give kudos to this one. Really well done. This was the second best (nothing can beat the Rampage....) episode of season 4 for this far!!! Chad Everett made great job acting Jimmy. The ending scene where they were standing outside and he touched Coop's hand and then he was all alone again... it was so sad.... Hopefully Vera get's his romance with the nurse, thought I hate his character coz he's so f..... annoying(!!!!), but still... maybe he deserves something good in his life too

I didn't really like this episode, it was really hard to get into it, and Lilly acted kinda strange in it too(don't know how to explain it), but OMG Vera was hilarious...and you could totally tell Andre DOES NOT like him hangin with his mom (no offense, but who really would ) , anyways, it was ok, kinda liked the way some things in the flashbacks were colored and some things weren't, it was a cool change! ;D I TTTTTTOOOOOTALLLLY am looking forward to NEXT WEEK!!! *****ROADTRIP!!!!*****
