I just finished watching "Resolutions," and I really liked the episode. I thought that it was really moving. I'll give my list of things that I noticed, but I'm going to leave some space in case anybody hasn't seen it yet and doesn't want to know. Possible spoilers ahead. * * * * * * * * 3 2 1 First of all, I loved Scotty's comment about where Lilly was for the millennium! Too funny! And apparently he was right since she didn't dispute it. Likewise, I was happy to hear where Scotty was as well. Looks like he and Alyssa are in sort of a holding pattern until he figures out if she's going to get better. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Second, I couldn't believe that rude guy (sorry can't remember his name) called Lilly a piece of [tail]!!! I'm surprised she didn't clobber him! How funny was the "crowding" scene??!! I loved it. Finally, I thought the ending was so poignant and tragic. How sad that Mel poisoned his own best friend and then killed himself. Very moving with Jewel's song over the end. I'm happy to see that we get another new episode next week! Yay!! Oooh and it looks good. Lilly with her hair down while working??!! Scandalous! I love it! Can't wait to next week. {edited word in post}

Hi TVfan,
I thought this was a good episode. I like it when the story takes twists and turns because I think some of them are too straight forward. I never would have guessed he was dead before he was hit.
Yes, Scotty and Alissa? have been together 4 years and then she got ill. And Lilly claims she's a vegetarian. Yes, I thought that butcher was crude.
The crowding scene was hilarious but if that person had a real disorder it would be life threatening. Still I have to say it was funny, personally.
That guy who lived alone and claimed he saw the accident.....{sorry i have to watch it twice to get all the names) ...well I liked the ending of him getting that little dog. That was cute.
I have to say I, too liked the ending of this one. Even though it was tragic but I know these things, unfortunately, go on in the world. People killing others for their own happiness. It's awful to think about it as a reality. I think that could be one of the reason's why the show is so popular because the material is right in your face.

Why does this show always make me cry?
I liked this episode very much, especially the choice of music. Plot-wise, the promos made it seem like the wife did it, so I was pretty sure she didn't, which left the best friend.
The crowding scene was hilarious, and I loved the Scotty-Lilly interaction. We got more insight into Scotty's past with Alyssa this week, I wonder when we'll get to learn more about Lilly?
What's the name of the song that played during the flashback where the kid runs over Greg? It's slipping my mind at the moment. The song at the end was "Hands", by Jewel, and that plus the mother-son hugging scene had me blubbering like a fool.

"Resolutions" was another touching episode -- after it got past the teaser, credits and opening scene(s) of "Love Conquers Al" (episode 6). (At least in the L.A. market.)

I'm very confused, and I think my small-town, semi-amateur CBS affiliate (Chico, CA) may have done something odd. I tune in at 8pm to an episode that seems to be about a murdered girl track star from 1981. The son of a local auto repair shop owner is suspected, but another guy is doing the time. As they're tracking the whereabouts of the Firebird the suspect was cleaning blood out of, I'm distracted by a phone call. I come back to the show, and it's about this murder-by-digitalis narrative. Did I just miss the connection, or did my local affiliate burp the original projection and correct it about 20 after the hour?

Not just your small town, here in LA it happened too, but I was watching as it happened and another episode picked up seemlessly about 15 minutes in. I thought I was dim and didn't catch the connection, so I rewound the tivo and sure enough I'm not dim. Glad someone else noticed too. Now I feel better.

i live in california and comcast pasted together two episodes tonight. the first 15 minutes was the track star girl followed by the hit and run of the drugged guy. i don't think i've ever seen anything like this. good thing i have tivo because i had to go back to see what happened. they basically came back from a commercial break with a new episode.

I'm in CA too, watching on the Dish Network feed, and got the same thing; it was the first time I ever watched Cold Case an darn was I confused! I think since I saw it on the Dish feed, this glitch probably affected everyone on the West coast if not the nation. Wacky. {edited word in post}

AHHH! Thank god for TiVo! See, I turned on CBS at 8:00 right after 60 Minutes, and I see like 1 minute of a scene with some people in a resturant and then the guy is walking and all of a sudden it switches over to the track star one from a while ago, so I'm like, "Oh, it must be a re-run" and I switched it over to charmed. I didn't remember I'd had my TiVo tape it but by chance I looked to see if it had, and well... it had. stupid cbs!

Here on the East coast of the US, the show aired at 8:30. I had lost track of time and just turned the tv on and that's when it ran. Don't know if there was some kind of sports event that ran over and "60 Minutes" was late and therefore "Cold Case".

Well I see that everyone had some kind of problem it seems. Mine was that since football season is over I thought that Cold Case would start on time for a while now and I was wrong. Darn basketball!!! So my episode cut off right after the guy admitted he hit the man but he was already in the road. Would someone be so kind as to tell me what happened after that or give me a link to a place that tells the ending? Thanks!!

Well the ending was basically that his best friend was in love with his wife and was trying to kill him with a heart drug. I forget the name of the drug. His plan was to marry his wife which he did. He was putting the drugs in his drinks. ~Naj

I feel so much better. Made to other posts about this until I saw this thread. I replayed Tivo 3 times... and couldn't figure out the segway from the track star to the heart medicine victim.
The track star is a repeat........
I'm in Las Vegas with Cox, so the issue is more than CA or dish or directv.
Glad I'm not that dumb or loosing my mind....

I decided to watch this episode over the weekend. Talk about making a case and cramming so much in just 40 plus minutes. You just gotta love how the detectives taunt, needle and smart mouth people in their interrogations. Stillman was funny: "crowd him." I just love the crowding interrogation of Russell. Lilly holds his hand, puts her hand on his shoulder. Cute stuff. The other interrogation in the bar, Lilly pours more bear in the guy's glass. Man how I miss this stuff and the intimate filming of the episodes make you feel like you are right there with them from beginning to end. The case doesn't give away how they arrive at the end scene but it is kinda easy to pick up who might be responsible for his death. This is also a good ep to see some interaction between Lilly and Scotty finding out a little more about his personal life and hers too. Alone at headquarters on New Year's Eve 1999.
