Wow. That was heart wrenching. Is it wrong for me to feel bad for Grace?

Okay I'm slow. That last post was from me. My first time here and I messed up pretty early. Sorry about that.

Hello feeling bad,
I felt bad for Grace but a part of me just doesn't accept the cruelty of individuals. I mean she took him out in the woods and left him to rot in a box and she's a nun.

I completely agree. I felt bad for her, but she made a few bad decisions and leaving him to rot in a box is bad. So, yeah. I agree. By the way, I thought where it said "name" was supposed to be the name of the topic and I thought I was logged in. DOH.

Welcome to the board! ;D I'm wondering what they could really charge the two with? They certainly tried to cover up his death. There's a part of me that knows this has to be a true story too! ~Naj

Hi - Did I miss it or did they discuss what happened to Arnold's father - the guy who performed the "treatment" on Arnold? Seems to me if he was still alive, they should arrest him. But like they said, back in 1958, they thought it was okay to do those kinds of things. Not sure about that one. What do you think? I mean, it was definitely wrong what happened but can you convict someone today for what they thought was appropriate medical procedure back then? This surely was a very sad episode. I must also say that I really love this show!!!!

It's definitely something to wonder about. What did happen to Arnold's father? Considering law is my area, you would think I'd know. I think it's one of those things where it is only illegal if it was in the law books at the time, which it wasn't. Vivian was the one to bury him as well, but maybe they didn't arrest her for things like the fact that she was a nun. That shouldn't matter know. And the fact that it wasn't and intentional murder or anything. Maybe she is on probation? Thanks for the welcome, Naj. I watched the show tonight and knew I had to find a message board! ;D I am a Xena fanatic and Najara was one of my favorite characters. So, here I am! Awesome show!! ;D

Wow. This was really, really good. Definitely better than "The Letter", which I enjoyed primarily for the note exchanges. [<-- Is a SAP.] I cried at the end. For some reason seeing that scene with the boy walk across the ring, with Gretchen and Grace and everyone . . . CBS really likes to make me cry, don't they? Between this and the WaT episode "Wannabe", I've cried enough this week to fill a bucket or two. Aww, Scotty still has his mysterious thing going with the mysterious people. His fan club again, perhaps? The only scene I didn't like was Arthur's death scene. The actress who played Grace was excellent, but the way he died right after saying something about the horses was kind of cheesy and not done very well. Eh. That's just me. But I kept expecting Grace to lean over and say, "Arthur - I am your mother", to which he would reply "Noooooooooooo" before dying. Alas, I'll have to wait for the next episode for that.

Does anyone know who a lot of the music was by? It sounded like it could have been Ricky Nelson.

Fell asleep. Who killed the kid? What were they doing to them at the clinic? Was he Grace the Nun's son?

Well Arnold was Grace's son and she was "with" Clayton a guy who worked in behavior and she asked him to use the treatment they used on the adults on Arnold because she wanted his behavior to get better so badly so that he would be adopted. The treatment ended up killing him. Grace and Vivian put his body in the box and ...well you know the rest. At the clinic they were doing radiation tests on the boys because of the radiation scare back then. I hope that helped. ;D

I'd like to point out all the exact similarities to the real-life- "Boy In The Box" case, otherwise known as "Little Boy Blue". The poor boy was found in a box...frozen, blue. The poster on the show with the downturned head, and the propped up in clothing...dead-on. I've seen the real posters, and the similarities were jaw-dropping. The town he was found in named him "Matthew", and even raised up the money to properly bury him. It's touching but very sad.

We could certainly use a person knowledgable about law on this board! So those of you who know speak up and give us all the legal definitions! The treatment Clayton gave Arnold was only approved for adults so he should be charged with something in addition to conspiracy to cover it up along with Vivian who is the one who took the boy to the woods. ~Naj

Do you know if this story was similar with the nuns or did they change things around? ~Naj
