Thanks for those photos, frenchfan! Really an amazing "double" casting job, here ... you really do think you're looking at the younger Stillman. xokellbellox: I'm with you - thank GOODNESS for TNT reruns! I'd really be hurtin' to keep up with the good folks on this board if I only had a few Season 3 eps in my library. mikencelia: Good catch on the younger actor lip syncing lines to John Finn's actual voice ... I had thought that, too - especially in the finally interrogation scene, but then I also thought perhaps I was hearing things. LOL! TVFan: So true about Kathryn's chemistry with Josh Hopkins. It is sometimes tough to keep two characters apart (as in, not romantically involved) when the two actors gel so well. Interesting what you said about Kite's manipulation in "Late Returns" ... I'll look forward to seeing that ep coming up in a few weeks.

WOW! They do look a lot alike! Thanks for the pics frenchfan! It's so amazing at what they can do with doubles sometimes, the younger versions have even looked like a spitting image of the older person in some episodes

Really like this episode and especially the Lilly/John parts.
I think what Stillman was trying to say is to not let the case get too personal or let it affect your personal life.
When I first saw this episode, I didn't think it was the store owner who did it but I didn't think it was the black kids either.
I liked the part where Lilly gets John to go with them to the crime scene and the walking of that scene.

Amazing episode, although we now know there was another reason that led to the demise of Stillman's marriage, we know this case also helped add pressure to it. As for the store owner, the minute he made the comments about African-Amercians, I knew he had something to do with it. As for the glue sniffers, they helped set the stage for it. They bullied a boy and sent him to a man they knew would get angry when he found out the truth. But all they wanted was their next high, I have no pity for them.

Good episode.
I loved hearing about Stillman's early career, even though the show later showed that most of it wasn't true (his marriage didn't break up over this case- it broke up much later, with Det. Yates, and his daughter was born way before 1980). I was pleased that the case went cold not due to stupidity on Stillman's part, but because of LaTrell's distrust of police.
Perfect casting for younger Stillman, and so glad they bought the actor back in latter seasons.
Loved No Drugs Today. Really funny., and I'm glad they used it later on.
Poor Tim and his family. You could see that his poor mom was at the end of her tether. No wonder she was so upset afterward- thinking in praying for God to take away her burdens that she'd killed her son.
Poor LaTrell, too. Sure, he made Tim steal the glue, but he was a young addict, and he paid the price. I'm so glad he finally got to go back home to his mom.
A perfect ending montage. Loved Young Stillman reading Young Murphy his rights, opening the door to the old station, and then the scene moving into the present.
