I love anything and everything to do with scary movies. "Halloween" is in my top 5 scary movies of all time, so....I think I'm going to really love this episode.

Overall, I was kinda disappointed in this ep. Maybe because it was so hyped up, I don't know. I just thought the case was kind of weak. There were some scenes and aspects of the show I did like though...
That Vera and "Josie chippy" seemed to make up or at least come to an understanding for the sake of poker! :smile81:
The Stillman/"Josie chippy" scene. Loved everything about it. The time out sign, "Josie chippy" talking about her attitude, Stillman telling "Josie chippy" she will get to know everyone. (God I hope so!)
The Jeffries backstory.
And I thought the montage was really good.

Welcome back Cold Case!!! I finally feel like this show is back on track. This episode was exactly what I wanted from this show. It was Lilly-heavy, Scotty lacking, engrossing case, interesting characters, fascinating Jeffries backstory, and we had the return of the Lilly-connection with the case. She bonded with the victim's mother, and she even ended up getting a hug and good Kharma. I really liked this episode. The balance has been restored (for this week anyway)! The Jeffries backstory was very interesting, and my heart ached for him. He has all this misguided, pent-up anger toward himself. He clearly blames himself for what happened to his wife. I guess he feels that if he had been there when she needed him, then she might not have died on that dark road. Vicky's father said it best when he told Jeffries that it could have easily have been either of them on any given bad night. The case was very engrossing. I was wrapped up in these characters and what happened to them, and I never had a clue who the killer was going to turn out to be. I loved Lilly's realization, and her true-to-form interrogation (glad that was back!!). The "women love firemen" scene was cute. We got lots of Lilly smiles in this one! They did a nice job of weaving the story so you were always going with different angles. Great storytelling in this one! I'm glad Vera is starting to come around with "Josie chippy". Although, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall of that interrogation room while they were playing poker at the end. I loved "Josie chippy"'s scene with Stillman. He's always so fatherly. It's great! Overall, an excellent episode and a huge step in the right direction to get CC's focus back on Lilly and her cases. I really didn't have high expectations for this one b/c I was afraid it would turn out to be similar to last year's Creatures of the Night. Although that ep was very creative, it was lacking in the story department. Bad Night worked because it kept the movie in the background and didn't let it run the story or the characters. This seemed to work much better IMO. E.T.A: I forgot to mention that this episode had an awesome soundtrack! I loved almost every song, especially the ending with Aerosmith's Dream On!

I still think "Josie chippy" is a bad idea and I kind of wince every last time I have to see her, but I liked that episode. Save having to suffer some "Josie chippy", the episode was Lilly heavy and, as noted before, had her connecting to the case, which is vital to my love of the show. Also, I love the movie "Halloween" so having it be part of the episode made it more fun. I give the episode an A-. I would give it an A+, but you do lose some points for making me suffer "Josie chippy".
