I just re-watched this episode. Did anyone else catch all of the inconsistencies? For one, at the reunion, the banners said "Class of 1997". However, the case took place in fall of 1997. The Seniors graduating that school year would have been the Class of 1998. Also, if Celeste and Rainey were Juniors in the 1997-1998 school year, why was Celeste at the Class of "1997" reunion? Finally, why were Seniors and Juniors in the same class? For a class like Physics, it would have been a requirement for either Junior or Senior year (most likely Junior), not a mixed class. Ah, the joys of being a sharpener.

It's possible for them to be in the same class depending on whether the older ones had skipped it or stayed back from the year before. In my HS, science was only required for 3 years out of 4. So the seniors could have not taken it for a year or failed the year before and had to do it over again. Also possible for juniors to advance to it. When I was in HS, my math classes were with the year above me (I had been in the higher level for my year but was demoted).
About the ep, shouldn't it have ended with Casey and the coach arrested for rape (and statutory at that)? The statute of limitations in Pennsylvania is 12 years, which explains how they were able to arrest the stepfather in Detention.
And anyone else see All the Boys Love Mandy Lane? Whitney Able was the mean popular one in that.

I guess it was just some sloppy consistency errors on the part of the writers.

I think there was a similar error made in Justice in regards to their reunion. I wonder why they can't seem to get right what's pretty much common sense.

I almost wish I didn't pay so much attention to detail, that way I could enjoy episodes without always being like "THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN. THEY MESSED UP. THIS ISN'T RIGHT."
It's quite draining, actually.

I gave this one a good as well. It's true that it felt a little close to that cliche line, but I thought that it had enough originality to make it its own. As others have mentioned, there were great scenes with gang working together and reminiscing about their own high school experiences. Loved the ending with Vera and Kat exchanging pictures in a "you show me yours, and I'll show you mine" kind of moment. This ep had that old S1 feel of the detectives helping each other out (acting like friends) with Lilly in the lead. Can't beat that! I wasn't sure what had happened to Rainey, but I thought the answer was plausible and another example of "accidental murder." Becca was so b*tchy and horrible, and yet, Celeste would rather deal with her than return to her pre-popular days. So sad. Was able to catch this episode recently and while I agree with most of the review, have to disagree on Rainey's death being accidental as far as Celeste is concerned. Becca didn't realize at the time how much GHB was in the beer that was forced down Rainey's throat but Celeste did and while she clearly didn't intend to kill her friend at the start of the night, the minute her friend told her she was going to expose what happened in the locker room to her mom and others is the minute she decided to let her die instead of getting her help. That isn't accidental in any way IMO. It's murder and Celeste was rightfully arrested for that.
